Name- Faelin Sarinshade Played By- Shadow-Savant Age- Undisclosed Race- Demon Class- Assassin Birthplace- Kagemuisha God you align to- Kiras and Aku Abilities- Manifestation: Faelin uses his innate magic to create temporary physical manifestations of weapons or items. He does carry a truly physical sword and dagger for when too weak to sumon his powers, but prefers to use the more powerful weapons he creates at will. These manifestations are a combination of an element and his Force magic which is the weakest, and most taxing, of those at his disposal. Shadow Magic: Used primarily to conceal his wings from even the most observant of foes, Faelin devotes nearly all of his power in the Shadow realm of magic to this purpose. If he releases the spell on his wings his powers of Shadow magic are immense and greatly empower his manifestations. The drawback is that the spell requires he break it down so it cannot be done on the spot. Also, he is unwelcome in most civilized lands for this obvious demonic trait so he keeps the spell active. The remaining power he has at his disposal can be used to scout with his shadow or use other shadows as portals between locations. Elemental Magic - Fire: Faelin uses Fire magic mostly for offensive purposes but also to keep warm at night, cook food without visible fire, and cauterize serious wounds. Elemental Magic - Water: Water magic is essential in barren environments and has occasionally been used to loosen footing or collapse defenses. On its own Faelin finds it more useful for saving lives than taking them. Elemental Magic - Air: Air magic is used to deflect projectiles, move objects or people, and can choke or smother enemies. It is also useful for boosting traveling speed or affecting aerial maneuvers. Elemental Magic - Earth: Earth magic can crush or swallow an enemy. It can shift to make their footing unreliable or to shield the user from attack. It can be used to hide tracks or make false ones. Faelin finds Earth magic is useful for affecting the physical world. Force Magic: The power of pure force. Wild and unruly, difficult to control, this school of magic took the longest for Faelin to master and meld with the others. This school of magic can be unleashed as an invisible, to those untrained in magic, blast of power or, if the user is skilled enough, combined with other magics. The symbiosis of spells makes it easier to contain the Force essence because not all of the spell's power comes from this school. Personality- Faelin Sarinshade is known throughout the underworld as a competent assassin. While his skills are among the top, he stands out from others in that he only assassinates the truly evil. Faelin only accepts a job when he can spend weeks observing the mark before he strikes. If he determines the mark to be a good person he returns the advance payment. Seven people who tried to have him killed for this practice are no longer among the living and he lets his clients know this before accepting the job. Faelin may be a demon but he has a sense of honor and respect for the living that many others do not understand. Appearance- He stands five foot nine, and his black hair is shot through with unnatural streaks of red. The streaks are the reflection of light, and change location on his head as it shifts angle. His eyes appear normal except under close scrutinization wherein the viewer notices his pupils are slitted as a cat's and the iris is a deep bloody red. Two small fangs jut from his upper jaw, only noticeable when he smiles, which is not a common occurence except when hunting. His left hand has a red crescent moon with a raindrop tattooed on the back and his right has the symbol of Kiras. Faelin wears loose but not baggy clothing in shades of black, grey, and green. His hair, which falls to his shoulders, is kept out of his eyes by an ornate headpiece. He wears a plain looking sword with a grip wrapped in blue-black leather on his left hip, and keeps a matching dagger in his left boot. These seemingly commonplace weapons are deeply enchanted by their previous owner though most of the weapons' power was lost with his death. Held in a small tube strapped to his back is the Obsidian Bow. Faelin usually conceals his clothing and weaponry under a dark colored swordsman's cloak. Weapons/ Equipment- Red Star of Chalyrushke: While in the possession of the demon Chalyrushke this sword shone with a reddish light as if eternally heated from within. Upon the death of its demon master the sword's inner fires were quenched and its glow faded into nothing. As if sentient, the sword absorbed the ruby set into its guard and was able to maintain the balance, keen edge, and unearthly durability of its glory days. Now however, its strike ring only as steel upon steel, no more the concussive blasts of fiery power that earned its place in legend. Chalyrushke's Glimmer: This dagger was once the partner, in power as well as appearance, to the sword worn by Faelin Sarinshade. Like the sword this weapon retained only its enhanced physical properties when its creator was destroyed. Faelin keeps it for emergencies and sneaky business when a sword becomes cumbersome. He also keeps the weapons together because much of their remaining power lies in their proximity to each other and, if possible, he would like to claim all of their slumbering power for the advancement of his goals. Obsidian Bow: The Obsidian Bow is a weapon empowered to shrink itself and fit in the matching quiver. The quiver holds no arrows though, if in the possession of a shadowmancer or wielder of Shadow magic, allows them to store up to twelve manifestations of darkness that can be fired from the bow. Only a shadowmancer or user of Shadow magic can retrieve the bow or arrows. Dragon Leather: This leather armor is made from the hide of a young black dragon. It is reinforced in places with bone studs and extra pads to help deflect blows but does not provide much greater protection than normal leather against physical attacks. Faelin, spending much of his life around demons and dragons alike, has worked long and hard on this armor which helps to resist the flames that both races are so fond of using. He chose the hide of a black dragon to aid him in his nighttime endeavors. Faelin only wears this armor if he knows he will be encountering adverse conditions or on after dark jobs.

Name: Maea
Age: Unknown-- appears 20-ish
Race: Demon
Class: Thief
Birthland: Maea was born on Kaze Isle, but she's spent no more time there than anywhere else.
God: If Maea can be said to worship any god, it's Fir; she sometimes pays a twisted tribute to the trickster god by burning signs into his altar in the temple after a particularly successful theft or close escape-- then laughing when she hears how the priests went into conniptions because they couldn't decide whether it was a godly message or vandalism.
Abilities: Demonfire-- hers is pale in color but much more intense than it loooks. She is impervious to her own flame and any nonmagical fire, but fire-based spells have the usual effect on her. Mindwork-- she has some ability with illusion, hypnosis, and mental attacks. Shadowmancy-- she isn't an expert by any means, but she once accidentally stole a book on the subject and taught herself a few tricks before she sold it.
Weapons/items: Maea favors daggers, and has quite a few hidden about her person, as well as two worn openly at her waist. She has been known to use whatever weapon is handy, especially polearms, but she despises swords and will never touch one.
Appearance: One of the bitter ironies of Maea's life. She is an albino; her white-feathered wings give her the appearance of a Celestial at first glance, until you notice her slit pupils or her fangs. Her eyes are very pale blue, with no whites to them, and her hair is white and very fine. She envies other demons' claws, and has her own fingernails filed to points, though they're usually hidden inside pockets or gloves or under her cloak. Her style of dress is usually plain and unobtrusive because of her work, but when she has the opportunity, she loves flambuoyant and extravagant outfits, and she has a soft spot for lace and embroidery. She'll change disguises in a blink, and almost never looks the same twice. The only thing she wears with any consistency is a small black feather on a silver chain around her neck; it's usually tucked under her clothes, and may or may not have magical properties.
History: Maea was born on Kaze Isle over a century ago-- perhaps more like two or three, but she really doesn't know or care. Her parents were wanderers, so she spent her childhood traveling in disguise; therefore, she has no deep roots in any country, and she is familiar with all of the known world. She's usually taken for a native wherever she is. Maea's parents split up when she was nine, and she continued to travel with her father, Ker, while her mother, Emmesse, settled down in Kagemuisha. Maea and her father sometimes went back to visit, but never for long; Ker disliked the city. When Maea was fourteen, Ker died in a fight with a Reaper. Maea continued to travel alone. She had never known before where the money came from to support her father and herself, and she knew no trade; thievery seemed the natural course of action. She took up with a small gang in Ai for a while, but she soon found that splitting her spoils with others didn't appeal to her. Her decision to leave was hastened when one of the gang members, anxious for a bit of coin, tried to sell her to a slave trader. She escaped easily, but she was now wary of trusting anyone aside from herself. Maea traveled from place to place and avoided settling down anywhere. She became adept at disguising herself. She can use illusions for the job, but usually the only part of her she hides with magic is her wings. Sometimes she forgoes even that, and uses more conventional means-- coats, cloaks, capes, and the like. Her skills as a thief improved as well, expounding on her natural talent; it's hard to measure such things, especially since she doesn't care to test herself with difficult thefts, but she could be considered among the best thieves in the world. Maea still continued to visit her mother throughout the years, but the last time she tried, she was told that her mother had taken up wandering again. She tracked Emmesse to Cateren Isle, where she discovered that her mother had been publicly executed by the priesthood days earlier and buried in an unmarked grave. All that Maea could find of her was one black feather. She wears it around her neck as a reminder-- not of a desire for vengeance, but to remind her to be wary of the priesthood and of people in general. Also, she hopes it'll grant her some luck or power-- it is, after all, the feather of a demon, and one tied to her by blood.
