The moon shone down with a brilliance that night that could rival any sun. The stars followed suit and twinkled with excitement. A lone soul sat on the grassy hills of the savanah, watching the display with joy. She felt like she had front row seats to a wonderful show. The black dog was riddled with scars, and her soul was as dark as her pelt. Her white tipped tail swished back and forth behind her in the grass, the only sound in the night was the swishing of her tail and the occasional rustle of another animal in the tall grasses around her. She thought she was totally alone, and she would have preferred to keep it that way.

A white and light grey figure walked through the grass, tail flicking quietly behind her. Azure eyes gazed up at the moon that shone the elegantly in the black starry sky. A content sigh streamed through the lioness's throat, her ears flicking occasionally to the slight sound of a rustle in the tall grass that surrounded her. Monifa had high spirits, and they weren't to be brought down by the partly silent night life. The edges of her mouth irked into a smile quickly, before her composed emotionless face grew back over her maw. Her eyes narrowed slightly, gaze drifting over what she thought to be a black shadow atop a hill in the distance

Dark eyes flashed in the night as Hamaiki's one good eye picked out a shape moving through the grass below her. Immediately her maw moved into a snarl, and with a speed equal to that of any cat, she was on her feet and running down the hill.
The small black dog stopped short about ten paces from the lioness, her sharp teeth glistening in the moonlight. Contrasted against her dark as night coat, it looked as though there was just a set of teeth and eyes staring with malice at the other.
"In a snarling, angry voice, Hamaki spoke; "What do you want, lion?" She said the last word with such venom it sounded as though satan himself spoke through her.
