Yum!! There are so many things (Chai, coffee, sushi, iced tea, cream sodas, wines) I should try to avoid right now, but maybe I can stock up on my teas and things afterwards! Oh wait.. I'll be nursing then.. ok, after that!

I miss the tea house in Philadelphia where I used to hang!! crying crying ... been too distracted raising kids and such to go searching in all the little nooks and crannies down here to find something similar (if it even exists).

Depends on the caffeine amount, I guess. And I did hear a book say "try to limit your caffeine intake to about 1 cup of coffee a day." I usually don't get NEARLY that! Well.. before I got into Chai, I didn't anyway.. redface But I've stayed away from Chai (except once, early on! HAD to have it!) and I've had some peppermint tea here and there. (Jenni tells me she heard in England they say if you're pregnant, try to limit your alcohol intake to about 1 glass of wine a day! That would give me a good excuse to do a little a wine-sipping at tonight's banquet! But I'm not sure I will...) rofl

Real herbal tea shouldn't have any caffiene in it at all. The site looks great, I'll have to explore it more.

i found a site that might be helpful for fawN, it has recipes for making your own chai, so if you used de-caf tea that would solve your problem. i rather like the idea myself, if would be a focusing and calming thing to do, much like the Chinese tea rituals 3nodding with a delicious drink at the end of it biggrin http://www.odie.org/chai/

And yea the powdered chai is kinda pricey compared to bags but it is so worth it! Especially when you're in a lazy mood and don't want to be bothered sweetening and adding milk yourself (altho I must say the secret to making bag chai taste like powdered chai imho is steamed (or at least heated) milk and brown sugar instead of regular cream and white sugar)

I tried chai once and I didn't particularly care for it. It was a bag tea and maybe I didn't do something right. To me it was just a different taste that I'm not sure I liked.

i drink chai black, and i love it when it's a miserable day, or if i'm feeling a bit poorly, the spicy smell is very comforting, but i do like the idea of making my own spice blend up as the talk about on that 2nd site that i linked to, that would make the downstairs of your house smell delicious blaugh
