Thanks for the websites! So far my stuff is still incredibly juvenile. I make sooo many mistakes when I'm casting on. And then somehow I end up with more stitches...? It's gonna be a long road, but I'm determined to join the ranks of knitters!
blaugh It takes practice to learn where mistakes happen, how to identify them, and how to fix them. And it happens to the best of us. I've been knitting for over a year, and I still drop or add stitches all the time. Actually, one of my projects right now has a dropped stitch... or maybe it was an extra one. Either way, I screwed up somewhere.
xp I think some of the more common mistakes are wrapping the yarn around the needle before making a stitch (so you get an extra), or not getting the needle through the stitch you're knitting through (so you drop one). Those happen to me a lot. o_o
