"Well, you're doing a great job watching her here," Irina mumbled under her breath while digging around in her skirt pocket for something. She chuckled to herself. Why did fae have to be so darn difficult!
She looked up at the fairy after retrieving the necessary object, and gave her a sly smile.
"Well, if I give you something new to play with, will you bring her back here? Surely if I gave you something in return, it wouldn't be too much work..." With that, Irina pulled the familiar whistle out of her pocket and held it up for the fairy to see. "I'll give you this if you bring Kalpana back to me."

"Ooh!!" Without a word, the little fae snatched up the whistle with a strength that was surprising for something so small... but not for something so magical. With the typical, unceremonious pop- the little creature- and the whistle- had disappeared... and instead, appearing in Irina's arms would be the quite heavier (than the whistle, that is)... Kalpana. And the forest was quiet. All the children had been returned. The fae were gone, and the gypsies would find that the rest of their passage through the Twiggle would be uneventful, almost ... peaceful, by sorts. They may even think themselves lucky, these gypsies, if they did not know the way of the meij. That two sons- fox and hedgehog alike- had been touched by some sort of strange magic, and still retained their altered likenesses... that children- two sets- had turned against each other in anger, in jealousy- and in animalistic rage. They were not unscathed, these gypsies- but still, lucky. Much worse had been known to occur in these woods. Valelldia said few words- only to call the women and men to their wagons, and signal that they were to leave at once. She gave a few soft, comforting words to Marissa, hushed beneath the dark cast of the canopy. Others would not hear her promises, but any could understand the look of guilt that the gypsymother held within her distinct features. She would not let this incident crumble their resolve- to corrupt this family- but she would let it seep guilt into her heart, responsibility for this day. It would not soon be forgotten. But, as always, there was no time for grief- she had a wagon to direct, and her sister- bless her heart, was wallowing in her own guilt. That yellowed, bile-filled pool of a coward's lot. She slunk into Blessed Change like a lizard coated with a thick fear, and hid away from the faces of the others as they did the same. Upon her leadseat, a fresh new wave of self-anger hit the girl... for her eyes alit upon Varlan, ready to pull her wagon up behind Valelldia's and leave the forest. She had forgotten about him, her placid, unchanging son- during all the commotion and fear. What if he had been taken? She would not even have known, never once did she account for his sake. Oqaia slunk down inside herself, low upon the seat- her gut was an accordian, and had leveled her flat with shame. What the others felt- was unknown. But one would have something more to focus on, beyond their minds. A single figure had swooped down from a tree and haphazardly crashed into the roof of a wagon, where it lay still- stunned, but certainly not dead. It was no fae- the gypsies had seen the last of them- but instead, a Banya. He had been long in these woods- all his life... and it seemed that more than just his mind had been addled and torn. His flight, as well, had suffered for his madness. ((note:: the first person who does not already have a banya may claim him by saying he landed on YOUR wagon. First post, first serve. ^_^))

Oqaia Jihh, on the other hand, was getting happily drunk on the dizzy spinning- so much so, that she laughed and darted and flew about the jewel-encrusted sandals that the girl wore- focusing only on those glittering things. It was a good thing, as well- Jihh was known for being irresponsible- and for tiring of her toys quickly. The last stranger that had been given to her for 'watching' had been left alone in the forest by her after he became too uninteresting. He had wandered for weeks, hungry and disoriented, until finally finding his way out of the woods. A little thing like Anezka- would likely have fared so well... even in what was a natural element to her animal past- if Jihh had not shown such interest in her. After several minutes of fevered dancing, Jihh stopped her spinning, and hovered- wobbling- before the Fortunette Girl. "Thank you for the dance. It's been the most fun I've had in a long time. ...Goodbye, Anezka. Have fun in the forest!" With that, Ane would find herself- without even a blink- standing back with the rest of the gypsies. Anezka let herself go, dancing around with her hands waving around in the air. She stomped her feet and giggled, making sure of course to not step on her little friend. "What? You're leaving me?...All alone in the - " Before she could finish the rest of her sentance, she was returned to her mother and caravan family. She blinked and looked around, "I'm back?...I'm...back...I'm Back!!!" She flailed and then called out louder, "Mum! I'm Back!" Turning around and putting her arms out, Leshya'e pulled Anezka into her arms. "My daughter...my Ani...you're back...!" She held her tight, the two of them crying happy tears.

The events seemed to move passed Mirela in a blur, having them in a clearing surround by fae one minute before the gypsies were returned to their wagon circle. Stolen children had appeared by their parent’s sides once more, although not all were returned in the same manner in which the fae had taken them. Mirela’s cerulean orbs glanced around the subdued gathering; watching the reunited mothers and children cling to one another and other gypsies sat in still silence, seeming to share Mirela’s sense of confusion, disbelief, anger and melancholy.
Pulling herself up off the ground at Valelldia’s words, Mirela made her way toward Narkri Chooma with Tafari in toe. With a downcast visage the gypsy failed to notice the figure that swooped down from a tree above until it collided with her wagon, causing Mirela to squeak in surprise. For a moment the young woman suspected that the fae had returned, although the mass of multi-coloured feathers soon alleviated her fears. “A Banya?” Mirela whispered, frowning. How had a Banya ended up in the forest? Behind her Tafari snorted, nudging her with his nose and jolting her from her musings. “Right, sorry, we should help it” the gypsy muttered, pulling herself into a stand position on her wagon seat to get a closer look at the stunned bird. The animal was still, although the gentle rise and fall of it chest could still be seen. Climbing onto the wagon’s roof Mirela crawled her way toward the dazed Banya, easily able to wrap the bird within the folds of her skirt and make her way back down from the roof.
“Ummm, what now?” Mirela asked openly, glancing curiously at the Banya bird nestled within her crossed legs.

Irina was surprised that the Fae took the whistle so readily, and in seconds, Kalpana was back in her arms, just as unscathed as she was when she disappeared.
"You're back!" she exclaimed, holding the badger up in the air to make sure she wasn't hurt in any way. "I'm so glad!" She hugged her daughter tightly, a few tears streaming down the gypsy's cheeks here and there. She gave the badger a kiss on the top of her head, and Kal quickly repaid her by licking her chin.
Irina saw that Anezka had also been returned, and she smiled at the pair, who were now embracing. It was good that the children had been returned, though some of them seemed to be quite different...
