mmh.. i was today in the libarey to find something out over korea but i dont find many books. only old ones. i wonder why it not easy to get information about this country.. whee

I saw a "cultural guidebook" in a bookstore the other day. I don't really like those things though because they're written for business travellers and are usually at least five years out of date.

Try Korea.net (who woulda thought eh?) I have some books if I can dig them up I'll let you know what their titles are. You can check amazon and just do a lengthy search for books and filter out the "Korean War".

That is the unfortunate aspect of Korea is that it is under-appreciated for a rather rich history and for a country that has withheld the test of time. Also the amount of strife it has suffered through the centuries hasn't made fact-finding any easier. Things like Korea invented the moveable type long before Gutenberg, the first missile launcher (Hwacha) long before the World Wars, and the first ironclad ship (Turtle Ship) long before the American Civil War.
