The Creation of Team Snagem and the Revolution

In the team’s beginnings, a global Union of Pokemon Rangers emerged that were stationed throughout the many regions of the world. They claimed to uphold peace in the regions, protect Pokemon from harm, and maintained the delicate balance of nature so that people and Pokemon could live side by side comfortably. While their original purpose was for good, and most of the Rangers were also upstanding people, the Union that the eventual members Team Snagem came to know were anything but. They became the antithesis of their original mission statement.

High profile dangerous events presented themselves throughout various regions in the world and The Ranger Union was originally formed to answer to such a thing. However, outside of their purview, several unknown vigilantes took it upon themselves to band together and give a helping hand. These strange people persevered through many odds to overcome the challenges that they took upon themselves; they were met with anything but thanks.

The Ranger Union saw the group's heroic deeds as nothing more than mere vigilantism and saw to their arrest. They viewed them as a threat to their own image, as the elite Pokemon Rangers of the Union were being shown up by random nobodies. Being in prison did not sit well with the group as they had only wished to protect the world and others from danger. If the Ranger Union wasn't, or couldn't, then who would? Though arrested, they didn't stay that way for long, as the group managed to break free from the grip of the Ranger Union and flee to a mansion hidden within the woods outside of Ecruteak City in Johto while also discovering a dark secret about their captors.

During their escape it would come to light that the Ranger Union had become corrupt and vile, using their resources and widespread grip on the regions throughout the world for their own personal gain. The former prisoners decided that, for now, they would lay low and wait out the witch hunt, but apparently their pursuers had other plans. In the ensuing clashes they would be attacked by the Ranger Union several times alongside battling for their own members' capture and freedom. The Union had the audacity to even plant a spy amongst them and they decided afterwards that enough was enough, the Ranger Union must be stopped. Their target was the head of the union's corruption, a man named Albedo.

Albedo was a vile man who wished to obtain the world's supply of the life energy of the world. Though he made numerous attempts and enacted various plots they all ended in disaster for the man as the group that he had oppressed with the power of the Ranger Union saw to it that his plots would fail. And, after many fights, they saw to it that he would fall in defeat. Now that Albedo was no more the Ranger Union itself crumbled. As their iron grip on the world disappeared, the group was finally safe. But was the world? Since the Ranger Union was no more it left the planet and its regions vulnerable, at the mercy of any number of outside threats. This was their calling, their destiny. United together from the common struggles they had overcome in de-seating the Rangers from their perch, the group decided they would watch over the world in place of the corrupt Union. In its absence, they would become the planet’s protectors.

The former prisoners would band together under a new name, calling themselves Team Snagem. They would station themselves within the depths of Mt. Silver, positioned strategically between Johto and Kanto in order to be ready to answer the calls for help from some of the world's most important regions. However, no group positioned to do good in the world can ever find themselves unopposed from an equal but opposite force, and it was the same thing in Snagem’s early days.

Clashing with other groups early on in their run, the group had stolen schematics and plans for a device called a Snag Machine from a technologically savvy group called Team Cipher; in the process the newly formed heroes made themselves an arch-nemesis. This Pokemon team used their technology for evil so Team Snagem would go on to face Team Cipher several times, always coming out victorious. Cipher has sworn a full-on blood oath to always get revenge, but the Snagems continue to be waiting, watching to make sure Team Cipher will always be stopped.

The Mad Scientist Saga

The Snagems enjoyed their new found home in Mt. Silver, but there was no time for the group to sit back and relax, Team Cipher was about to show their ugly face once again. This time the notorious villains had set their sights on much bigger things. With Snagem in their new home located on the border their arch-nemesis wasn't too far away. Team Cipher began conducting many experiments in Johto and Kanto, under the guidance of Cipher Admin and head scientist, Ein. Many inhumane experiments were carried out in the name of Ein's research as the Cipher admin was studying energy, the essence of all living things, and also the power source which Pokemon draw from to execute attacks and evolve. The scope of Ein's research led him to using entire cities for his experiments and many more people would have lost their lives if it wasn't for the members of Team Snagem always interfering.

Team Snagem chased Ein all around both regions, oftentimes trying to stop his experiments before they began. Ein was even able to use other humans to try and craft his own legendary Pokemon, Regirock, but that also ended in failure. The madness seemed to be unending, Snagem deploying around the continents against their mad foe until a ray of hope shined through the doom and gloom. They had managed to discover the location of Ein's main laboratory, located in the heart of the Orre desert. The Snagems decided it was time to end Ein's experiments once and for all and they stormed the mad scientist's stronghold, but not without resistance. Ein's lab was filled with gross, unnatural creatures. Mutant Pokemon created by him, Pokemon with power far beyond what their species possesses thanks to the mad experiments. But all that power was not without a price; the Pokemon were nothing more than tools after Ein was done with them.

The Snagems fought their way through Ein's house of horrors and made it to the puppeteer himself, cornering him at the end of his getaway vehicle. An armored train anchored across a set of underground train tracks that had been strung beneath his lab. The scientist attempted to flee but Snagem's Articuno hybrid, Blizzard, froze him to the train and left him for dead. Ein's experimental Pokemon arrived on the scene at the same time, looking for revenge against their creator. Blizzard thought there would be no better way for the mad man to meet his end than at the hand of his own creations and he left Ein to their mercy.

With Ein gone, the people of Johto and Kanto finally knew peace from the madman. The Snagems ended up having to chase down some of Ein's escaped experiments in order to prevent them from being retrieved by Team Cipher once again but all the while they managed to make sure and keep the peace.

The Rise of Cipher

With Ein's defeat the world saw very little activity from Team Cipher anymore. So complete was the peace that the Snagems decided to visit a region that had just opened its borders to the outside world, the Unova region. Things didn’t turn out very relaxing on the team's little vacation as while seeing the sights of the foreign lands the Snagems saw the last thing they would want to see: a member of Team Cipher in Black City. At first they thought it could just be a fluke, but after doing a bit of digging and snooping around they soon found out it was anything but, as Team Cipher had already moved into the region.

Upon closer investigation of Black City the Snagems discovered that Team Cipher had built a power plant in the city, promising to use it to supply the area with endless power. Little did the citizens of Black City know that the power plant was drawing energy from the neighboring forest, White Forest, sucking the energy from the area and leaving it to wither away and die. The Snagems attempted to destroy the plant's reactor which was consuming and altering the energy, but they soon found out it would be not as easy as it first seemed as the reactor was able to defend itself from attack with the stolen energy. Unable to break the reactor, in addition to now facing a new challenge in one of Cipher's admins, Dakim, and his Pokemon being powered up by the reactor, the Snagems were forced to retreat and come up with a new plan. They hoped they could stop Cipher from spreading while they figured out something else.

While investigating the Unova region the Snagems discovered that the region had long since had its own problems, a group called Team Plasma had caused many headaches for the region as they believed Pokemon and people should be separated, the world divided. While waiting to see what Cipher did next the Snagems did what they could with Team Plasma, and thwarted their mischief many times, much to Team Plasma's dismay. The issues with Plasma would turn out to be small-fry as the Snagems still had much bigger trouble brewing in the region.

Right around this time Cipher reared its head again, starting a mining operation in Giant Chasm, searching for space rocks to continue experiments Ein left behind. They believed those rocks contained powerful energy. Team Plasma, however, did not like the disturbance of Giant Chasm and its Pokemon, so a turf war broke out between the two groups and began to spill into the neighboring town of Lacunosa. The Snagems stepped in and broke up the fight, but eventually temporarily joined forces with Team Plasma as they learned that Cipher was causing some serious damage to the environment. With their combined efforts they were able to drive Cipher out and destroy their machines, but with their common enemy defeated for the day, the groups of Snagem and Plasma separated and went about their business as rivals once again.

Peace would not last however, as the Snagems were led to the Celestial Tower by a message from an unknown sender. There they discovered a hooded man who had captured Sub's cousin, Toren, and used his SNAG to send the message. The man was cryptic in his words and didn't give many hints as to why he dragged them there. All he would say was for experimentation as he attacked them with electrical powers. The fight ended suddenly as the figure left abruptly mid fight.

A few days later the Snagems ran to Agate Village in the Orre region to put out a forest fire. It was there that they were confronted by the fire starter, a Ho-oh hybrid. The Snagems fought the hybrid and in the midst of the fighting the figure from Celestial Tower returned and revealed himself to be Ein, in a gross new Eelektross hybrid form. The mad man had survived by injecting himself with some of his own experimental Pokemon serum, causing his body to mutate and become monstrous. The scientist now needed energy to live and feed off of, so he had cloned Snagem's own Ho-oh hybrid, Sol, with DNA that was stolen from him back at Giant Chasm by Team Cipher. The pair of mutated hybrids ended up escaping, but not for long.

The Snagems chased Ein down, finding him at his old lab in Orre. They didn't plan on letting the scientist live and start his cruel experiments once again. After a lengthy battle with the Eelektross hybrid the Snagems managed to restrain him and use a device of his own making against him, one that absorbs the energy of whatever it is attached to and converts the physical state of it. The device absorbed Ein’s ill gotten energy and converted him into stone. With the scientist now a freakish statue, the Snagems made sure he couldn't return and smashed it to pieces. Finally, they got to see the man die at their own hands.

The Snagems became too distracted with other troubling matters, Team Cipher went unchecked and their influence began to spread as a strange company was born in the region called Perich Enterprises, a manufacturer of strange Pokeballs that could be used over and over again called Salvage Balls. They also had created an item called the PlusPower which amplified a Pokemon's strength to unnatural levels. The Snagems knew something was up as Pokemon across the region were becoming weak and sick and after breaking into Perich Enterprise's headquarters they discovered that the PlusPower was causing Pokemon to put out more energy than natural, harming themselves. At the same time the Salvage Balls were stealing energy from the Pokemon captured in them and transmitting it back to Black City and the reactor Cipher had built there. Things were not looking good, why was Cipher amassing all this energy at the cost of the region?

They didn't have much time to find out why they were, or fully stop them, as Perich Enterprises was beginning to replace gyms with their own, saying they were more efficient, and indeed they were able to convince the Pokemon League that they were as they proved the former gyms to be inadequate, one by one. Little did the League know that these gyms were not what they seemed, Pokemon that fought in them also had their energy stolen.

Eventually all the region's gyms were replaced with Perich ones and things weren't looking good. Cipher was systematically taking over Unova, and there was little Snagem could do to stop it. In one of their confrontations with Team Cipher the Snagems learned something startling - what all the accumulated energy was going to be used for. Team Cipher had gotten their hands on an ancient artifact called the Dark Stone, an orb believed to house the dormant legendary Pokemon Zekrom. Cipher attempted to retrieve the opposing stone, the Light Stone, but Snagem managed to cut them off and obtain the stone before they could, one was bad enough in their hands.

Despite many battles with Cipher, the villainous group still managed to tighten their grasp over Unova, going so far as taking complete control of the region's Pokemon League, and created a new league with the league headquarters in Black City, using their newly built Black Tower as the base, built on top of the power plant that housed that devilish energy reactor, things just kept taking a turn for the worse.

The Snagems knew they couldn't stop Cipher alone, they needed help, and so they called upon the gym leaders, professors, and various trainers of the Unova region and all of them banded together to form an alliance called The Gray Unova. Their base of operations was Unity Tower, a symbolic name and headquarters for their union. The alliance fought the region's new police force, Perich's Unova Troopers. The Gray Unova fought to take back individual cities, managing to draw Perich's men, or rather Cipher's, as Perich was just a front, out of the South-Eastern peninsula of Unova, from the city of Nacrene and back. The Snagems were forced to destroy Sky Arrow Bridge to prevent Cipher from moving more forces and supplies in to support their gyms there, and with its removal the Snagems successfully managed to cut Cipher off.

Their meddling did not go unnoticed, however, as Cipher beefed up their forces. Once they realized their gyms were being toppled they captured the league's former Elite Four and blamed the disaster on the league champion, Alder, in order to turn the region's citizens against the former champion and all the former gym leaders who had come out in support of him. Things were getting messy as both former gym leaders and Team Snagems were now seen as enemies of the region, enough was enough, The Gray Unova was now going to unleash one final assault on Cipher's headquarters, Black City.

And so The Battle for Unova commenced, all of Cipher's forces garrisoned in Black City, preparing to defend it from The Gray Unova as they put it under siege. The battle was fierce as the Unova gym leaders served as the vanguard against Cipher's forces, opening a path for the Snagems to make their way to Black Tower. However, getting into the tower was another issue as it had the strongest defenses yet. All seemed lost until Team Plasma showed up and pledged their assistance to The Gray Unova, wanting Cipher out of their region also. They made their intentions clear, however, they only did so since Cipher was a common enemy to them. Thanks to Team Plasma's intervention the Snagems were able to make their way up the Black Tower, in search of the Cipher boss.

As they made their way up the Snagems were confronted by the new Elite Four: Lady Venus, Cipher's admin and Perich Enterprise's CEO, Dakim, another Cipher admin who had tried to leave the team but was pulled back and forced to fight against his will, an Artificial Intelligence copy of Ein designed to activate inside of his clone of Sol, Amaranth, upon his death, and finally the head admin and second in command of Black Tower, Nascour, the most vile of men.

It was a long battle against Cipher's strongest and the Snagems managed to make it through, but Cipher had a trick up their sleeves as they called forth three legendary Pokemon that were taken against their will with devices put on them so that they could control them, and provide them with extra power from the energy reactor below the tower. Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion imbued with extra power seemed undefeatable all seemed lost as their attacks did nothing to these legends, but the Snagems had an ally, the legend Victini who dove underneath the tower and with all its might managed to destroy the energy reactor, breaking Cipher's hold on the legends causing the powerful Pokemon to flee.

With the four admins defeated the Snagems made their way to the very top of the tower, where the man behind it all stood, Cipher's regional leader, Evice. Surfacing to the top they would discover the three legends from earlier defeated by something as Evice stood victorious over them. Looking skyward they discovered what made short work of them, the legendary Pokemon Zekrom. Evice had managed to use the massive supply of energy to force the Pokemon to awaken from its slumber within the Dark Stone. The Snagems unleashed all their might against the legend but all seemed lost as it made little difference while Evice executed his final plan. The Black Tower began to glow violently as it turned out the tower itself was a giant reactor that would activate Zekrom's power. It would begin to suck up all the energy from the entire region, feeding it to the beast, making it even more powerful while the region weakened, thus making Evice's control absolute.

The Snagems would not stand for this. They managed to destroy the tower's controls, but not without consequence as Evice flew into a rage and ordered Zekrom to destroy them and the entire region. The Snagems attacks were futile as the monster was just too powerful. Defeat loomed over the Snagems like a dark cloud, but that cloud was pierced as Victini returned and fought off Zekrom, buying the Snagems time.

The two legends battled fiercely as the Snagems turned their attention to Evice. The Snagems began a joint attack against the man that ended by encasing him in ice and smashing him to bits. They had finally destroyed Cipher's head but there was no time to celebrate, they still had two legends fighting and Zekrom's influence was beginning to destroy the region.

The two beasts would battle, with the Snagems assisting Victini. All seemed lost as Victini took Zekrom's most powerful move, Bolt Strike. The tiny legend was gone, seemingly evaporated into dust. The Snagems had no idea what to do so they improvised, using their Snag Machines to give their own energy to several Pokemon with the ability to Teleport. Those Pokemon would combine their skills to transport Zekrom to Orre's vast desert, buying the Snagems more time to think.

Things looked hopeless as they had almost no fight left, the teleporting leaving them all exhausted, and now Zekrom was preparing to destroy this region as well. All seemed lost again until the Light Stone finally activated as Reshiram awoke from within, clashing with Zekrom as a battle of epic proportions erupted. The fighting was fierce as Reshiram tried to fight off Zekrom and protect the Snagems all at the same time. There was too much even for a Legendary Pokemon as the Snagems were now in harm’s way. It looked like this was the end of the team, would they really die here? The two legends began to execute their most powerful attacks, Bolt Strike and Blue Flare. Even being in the vicinity of the clash of these two would surely end the group, but it was then that their little guardian angel reappeared. Victini showed up again, the tiny legend was still alive.

Victini put itself between the two legends and unleashed every ounce of power it had, enveloping the entire area in a fierce white glow. The Snagems would open their eyes to find they were transported to Phenac City, safe and sound. They could see in the distance the most beautiful image, a second sun on the horizon. Victini had unleashed its inner power, which was enough to silence the two legends as orbs of black and white rose into the air and went their separate ways. The fighting was over, but Victini had finally truly given its life for them and the world, was it worth it?

The Snagems went to head back to Unity Tower, to inform the others it was all over, but upon their return they were informed by Professor Juniper that a strange blanket of sparkling energy had swept the region of Unova and all the Pokemon of The Gray Unova army had suddenly been revitalized with new strength, allowing them to defeat the remaining forces of Cipher. The Snagems this strange phenomena for what it was, it was Victini's Victory Star. The tiny legend had lived and saved the region one final time, putting an end to the fighting.

With Cipher fully driven out of Unova and the old league reinstated, the Snagems decided to say their goodbyes to the professor and gym leaders of Unova. They promised that one day they would return, after the people of Unova had rebuilt themselves. It was time the Snagems left the region of Unova, so that they could get back to their lives. Unova finally knew peace once again and so did the Snagems; they returned to Mt. Silver for a much deserved rest.

The Curse of the Heavens

The Team enjoyed an extended period of peace after the defeat of Team Cipher and the liberation of Unova. Their time of peace was filled with many activities, one of which was a festival in Fallarbor Town in the Hoenn region, The Star Festival. Every five years the people of Fallarbor Town hold a festival to commemorate the arrival of the Zhelat Comet, a comet that can only be seen once every five years, very briefly. However, this year it was the most visible it has ever been while coming closer than ever before. Such an event would be a joyous time for all to partake in, but one group had other ideas, just seeing the comet wasn't enough.

The Hexagon Brothers, remnants of Team Cipher, reared their heads at the Star Festival, looking to pull the comet out of the sky. The brothers intended to rip the passing comet out of the sky with their own Probopass, powered by an energy amplifier salvaged from the destroyed Black Tower. The brothers claimed they were given instruction from The Galaxy Club to retrieve the comet, with the promise that they could join their ranks upon doing so. Unfortunately the Hexagon Brothers were successful in pulling the comet out of its path, redirected it, and put it on a crash course for Meteor Falls, where the comet viewing was taking place by dozens of citizens causing the Snagems to have to act quickly to save everyone.

After taking care of the brothers and sending them packing, the Snagems turned their attention to the comet. After some fighting the team knocked the comet back into the atmosphere and shattered it, sending fragments of it raining on the Sinnoh region. If the Snagems knew the consequences of their actions and act of heroism they might have reconsidered. Were the lives of a few dozen more important than the safety of an entire region?

The Snagems soon learned the true nature of the comet and why The Galaxy Club desired it. The club's leader, a young woman named Io, came into possession of one of the comet's fragments and was influenced by the meteorite's strange power which also gifted her with Psychic powers. This made Io into a Psychic Channeler as opposed to the Psychic energy found within Pokemon of the same type. With her new found powers Io deemed herself special and sought to "enlighten" the world with her cosmic gifts but first she intended to collect more meteorite fragments and increase her powers further.

After several smaller skirmishes with The Galaxy Club and Io, the Snagems learned that she intended to amplify the power of her own fragment by constructing an Energy Converter not unlike the ones Team Cipher once possessed, and thanks to the Hexagon Brothers involvement she had the plans to make one. Learning that Volkner and his former friend Cyrus once constructed a device similar to the Energy Converter, a machine that would convert stray energy from Pokemon battles into a source of energy, Io set out to retrieve the device and failed in the first attempt with Volkner. Because of that, she set her sights on Cyrus, the co-creator of the technology.

Cyrus and Io met with one another and agreed to work together to construct a new Energy Converter to amplify Io's powers and gain control of the masses with her Psychic abilities, but what Cyrus got out of this was unknown at the time. Their plans were foiled when the Snagems crashed their meeting and stole Io's meteorite fragment, driving her into a rage. Erratically this caused her to enact her plans prematurely, gaining control over Hearthome City with her powers. The Snagems were forced into a final conflict with Io and her new mind puppets, turning the city into a battleground. By manipulating Io's hair-trigger temper, the Snagems were able to defeat her and free Hearthome from her control. In the process they restrained her powers and captured the woman, taking her prisoner.

The Snagems began to study Io's meteorite, and the woman herself, trying to learn more about what they were dealing with. After having been parted with the meteorite for an extended period of time, Io lost her powers, but not completely. Reno, another Snagem, touched the meteorite briefly, gaining some of the strange energy in the rock. Utilizing this fortuitous connection, Io tricked Reno into opening her cell and used the energy from the meteorite in Reno to reactivate her Psychic Channeling abilities and teleport away, escaping.

If having lost their prisoner wasn't enough, Snowpoint City also had trouble that seemed to be because of the meteorite. A creature that resembled a Beartic ran amok and began to terrorize the city as blizzards rolled in. The Snagems believed this creature to be under the influence of another meteorite fragment.

The Snagems were able to fight back against another new threat despite mounting odds, the Stone Society. A group composed of Banette, Beartic, Lickilicky, and Manaphy hybrids, along with Fighting, Steel, and Electric Channelers. Their powers came from the shards of the comet that they possessed. The Snagems were able to defeat them one at a time and take away their shards. However, in the end, the shards pulled themselves together and revealed the comet’s true form. It wasn’t a space mineral after all, it was a legendary Pokemon named Deoxys. The newly-reformed Pokemon was revealed to be a malevolent being who would travel from planet to planet over the span of millennium, infecting the population and sapping them of their life force for sustenance. Now pulled back together, the Snagems fought and overcame an even greater foe as they managed to defeat Deoxys, taking possession of the full stone shards and all. The team took the Zhelat meteorite in their possession and locked it away in a safe made of Dark Gem, intending to keep the world safe from the threat of the extraterrestrial visitor to spare it the same fate as the other planets it had visited.

The Birth of Teams

As the cycle often went, Snagem fell into another period of peace following Deoxys’ defeat. This peace was only interrupted by small groups of evildoers committing petty criminal acts, and while some were severe none were truly threatening to the world as a whole.

Before the Stone Society fell the Galaxy Club went before it, however rumors spread throughout Sinnoh of a successor to the Galaxy Club, picked up by a rather wealthy genius named Cyrus. The Snagems have yet to encounter this alleged group but they are keeping their eyes open and their ears to the ground for any potential activity.

The Pyre Cult, a group which worships a ‘God of Land’, and PETW (People for the Ethical Treatment of Water Pokemon) were two groups which Snagem has had many small scale encounters with. From PETW protesting and then trying to destroy Nugget Bridge in Cerulean City, as they claimed it was harmful to Water Pokemon to the Pyre Cult who tried to erupt Cinnabar Island to please their "God of Land". The two loony groups would be destined to clash with each other, and so they did, often. Their constant fighting pulled Snagem into conflict with them many times, having to break up their fighting. Eventually this led to both groups seeking out the power of the Unown in the Sevii Islands, believing they could use their reality warping abilities to achieve their goals. One wished to make more land and please their god, the other wanted to remove all threats to Water-type Pokemon. Eventually Archie, the leader of PETW, made it to the den of the Unown first. Unfortunately he was very mistaken. The Unown tricked him and locked him in a false reality, one of his dreams, but his own body unmoving in actuality.

With the Pyre Cult and PETW both dealt incredible blows to their ranks due to their infighting, Snagem could focus on cleaning up a lot of Cipher's other messes throughout the regions. They spent their time chasing down the disenfranchised Hexagon Brothers, who were committing crimes in an attempt to regain Cipher's favor. Eventually they would discover a threat that lay in the shadows under their radar for a long time, Team Rocket.

Snagem clashed with Team Rocket on several occasions, discovering that they largely controlled Celadon City. Team Snagem could not allow the spread of their influence to be stifled in Kanto so they moved to stomp out Rocket's own influence in Celadon. While they were mostly successful, it was doubtful they would ever be rid of such a deeply ingrained organization in Kanto such as Team Rocket.

Snagem then set their sights on a new land opening to the public, a region called Kalos.

The Kalosian Revolution

Originally only intending to visit the region of Kalos, Team Snagem’s vacation in the Kingdom of Kalos was short lived as trouble found them soon after arrival. Finding the region under the oppressive rule of the current monarchy the Snagems would attempt to explore the region only for disaster to strike once the populace took note of Cera, a Mew, and attempted to capture her. Sub would save Cera from the unfolding chaos and flurry of Pokeballs by capturing her himself with a Master Ball, the first time in her many years of living the Mew had ever been contained in a capture device. While his actions were noble this act would earn Sub the ire of the Kalosian king and his elite policing force, the Royal Guard. By royal decree all legendary Pokemon found in the Kalos region were proclaimed property of his majesty and in the eyes of the monarchy Sub had just stolen the property of his highness. This would result in Sub’s eventual capture and imprisonment.

The Snagems would in time free Sub from his imprisonment and the entire team would be declared enemies of the crown. Deciding that the situation in Kalos under the monarchy had now become personal, the Snagems set out on a new mission; the overthrow of the monarchy. Setting up a secret underground base in Lumiose City, the street level cover and entrance a cafe named ‘Snag-A-Cup’, the team went about subverting the monarchy and working towards their eventual overthrow, slowly chipping away at their authority and having many confrontations with the Royal Guard. In time the team would join forces with the local underground freedom fighters of the Kalosian Republic who dreamed of freeing Kalos from their oppression.

While they had some success in undermining the king the team was not prepared for a man who had plans of his own, who intended to use the chaos created by Snagem and the freedom fighters to his own ends. The owner of Lysandre Labs, a famed genius in his own right, Lysandre. Manipulating the social upheaval Lysandre managed to elevate himself to a higher position, convincing the king to give his approval to a constitution and creating the office of Prime Minister, officially transforming the Absolute Monarchy into a Constitutional Monarchy. With a constitution given the king’s approval Lysandre would maneuver his way into becoming the region’s first Prime Minister and with further manipulations become absolute ruler of Kalos in all but name, the constitution little more than window dressing to try and appease the common rabble.

Now realizing the situation, that the king had been reduce to a figurehead and Lysandre elevated to greater power than even the king had previously, the Snagems realized they had been partially responsible for putting Kalos under the thumb of an even greater tyrant who had far more resources than the king or even themselves thanks to his secret cabal dubbed Team Flare. With Kalos under the control of Lysandre and Team Flare, with even some high ranking figures like Elite Four Malva joining them, it was apparent that Snagem had failed in their plight to free the people of Kalos and were forced to abandon their Lumiose base and the region entirely, the area now far too dangerous for them to operate in.

The Shadow Plague

With Kalos essentially lost to tyranny the Snagems were feeling defeated, however there would be no time to rest as stirrings in Orre demanded their attention, starting with a mysterious individual known as the ‘Silver Snatcher’ operating in the region with their own Snag Machine. Through much maneuvering in the region’s seedy underground, seeking out answers and clues, they would discover this man appeared to be snagging specific Pokemon, powerful unruly ones. For what reason they were unsure as the Snatcher appeared to be uncooperative with Snagem, unflinching in his goals.

Upon investigating these Shadow Pokemon appearances the team was eventually confronted with the greatest threat they had ever faced, back and more terrible than ever, Ein. Now in complete control of the previously defunct Team Cipher, and all its resources, Ein had quickly seized control of the entire region of Orre, the Snagems barely capable of resisting him thanks in part to the new form Cipher now took, a fully fledged team to rival Snagem directly. Counting Ein the team had 6 members total: Kess the Zapdos hybrid and mercenary, Zera the Weezing hybrid and fresh-faced new member slash sadist, Dull the Gengar hybrid that was an evil reflection of Darts from another reality, Miror B. the dance enthusiast of the original Cipher, and, his greatest weapon yet, S-22, a Sharpedo hybrid cyborg of incomprehensible strength created through the results of his genetic modification and weapon’s testing throughout the years.

Not only that, the mad scientist had also released an experiment more vile and unforgivable beyond any of his others, the Shadow Virus. This virus would be responsible for the reappearance of the violent Pokemon called Shadow Pokemon. The virus was built upon the research of Cipher’s former PlusPower drug, driving normal Pokemon to insane bouts of rage and violence. Snagem attempted to stave off its spread and fight the Shadow Pokemon as well as Cipher at the same time but it was to no end, the plague had come and was gripping the world just as Ein had planned, Snagem powerless to stop it and his team. Or so it seemed as the plague began blanketing regions and spreading.

Largely retreating to Hoenn, where the plague seemed to be at its worst and the origin point for the virus, the Snagems paired up with Devon Corp.and worked together to combat the plague. The region was originally resistant to their aid thanks in part to their own homegrown response to the Shadow plague in the form of the group HAZARD, their duty to combat the Shadow plague themselves. Some in the region blamed Snagem for the plague and their inability to stop Ein. Clashes with HAZARD were not uncommon during the early time in Hoenn, in spite of both sides wanting to defeat the Shadow plague. Out of desperation during this time the Snagems sought out the legendary titans, the Pokemon Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, who were completely immune to the Shadow virus to utilize as powerful weapons in their fight against Ein and the Shadow plague.

Due to corruption, ineptitude, or perhaps even jealousy over Snagem invading their turf HAZARD would collapse, the Hoenn government turning to Snagem alone for aid. Thanks to their coordination with Snagem the Devon Corporation was able to create a vaccine to the Shadow virus, the true end to the plague in sight. The best method for widely distributing the vaccine was chosen, as an aerosol. Knowing they had to protect the low orbit rocket that would release the vaccine from Cipher the Snagems boarded it, only to be attacked by Ein’s prized monster, S-22. While previous encounters with the monster had always ended in defeat at its hands the Snagems made their stand against it here and with a coordinated effort managed to defeat the creature and eject it into low orbit, seemingly defeated.

With the vaccine administered to the world it was now only a matter of time before the Shadow Pokemon purified themselves and eventually, given enough time, the world’s wild Pokemon would be inoculated against the virus with antibodies, causing the spread of the plague to stave off. Finally, after a long time there was a victory for Snagem and a blow dealt to Ein and Cipher.

Prelude to War and the Z-Awakening

While Snagem was busy dealing with the Shadow plague, trouble continued to brew in Kalos as Lysandre and Flare’s power only grew, Flare and Kalos now fused together in totality. The conquest of Kalos would be revealed as the first part of Lysandre’s true goal; global conquest. From Kalos he would begin to invade other regions and bring them under the banner of a Kalosian Empire. However, even with all of Kalos at his disposal Lysandre needed more power and thus sought out a creature of whispered lore in the region, Zygarde.

At one point Rhyme, the Pachirisu hybrid and Snagem teammate, would be captured by Team Flare while they were sent by Devon Corporation to seek out a rather large Thunder Stone called a Zapdos Heart, similar to the one that powered Snagem HQ.

Upon confronting Mr. Stone the Snagems learned of the request along with the mysterious identity of the Silver Snatcher, a man named Wes who was working for Devon Corp. all along as an agent outside of Team Snagem, who had become far too renowned for Stone’s liking for something like covert operations. The Snatcher, Wes, snagging Shadow Pokemon to bring back to Devon Corp. for research.

With Rhyme locked away in Flare’s base the team would set out to rescue her, only to discover a core and cells Lysandre had obtained previously without their knowledge. They would fail to obtain any of the core as the then traitorous Aile took the core and fled. They would later encounter Aile again at the Battle Chateau, there claiming the core now in 10% form and lovingly naming it ‘Zac’. This action would bring Snagem further ire from Lysandre who now wanted his Zygarde core back. Their escapades with Zac would lead them to find other cells and cores and in their clashes with Team Flare Lysandre would gain control over far more than just Zac and the cells he possessed. Snagem would attempt to try to keep Zac from Lysandre but once again the Flare leader would claim victory over them and complete Zygarde, unleashing the true form of the legendary Pokemon. After a brief display of its power Lysandre would cryptically leave Snagem, telling them that what he and Zygarde planned to do was for the better of the entire world. Why Zygarde was obeying Lysandre was anyone’s guess.

With his new weapon it was now only a matter of time before Lysandre launched his war on the world at large. Team Snagem had to prepare for the worst.

Zero Point

The team would be drawn to Citadark Isle where the turncoat Snagem, Aile, was now being held hostage, Sub deciding they would rescue the woman themselves rather than let her suffer at the hands of his most hated enemy; Ein. The Snagems would journey deep into Ein’s decrepit
laboratory on Citadark Isle in search of Aile, the truth of Sub’s decades long quest to defeat Ein revealed and how the mad scientist has almost certainly had a hand in all the chaos they have gone through leading up to this point, or at least benefit from it. There they crossed paths with old enemies in the form of Gonzap and Wakin, as well as old experiments left behind by Ein such as S-00. With the help of our former and soon to be again teammates Aile would reclaim her freedom and join in on the fight. However Gonzap had attempted to get his vengeance in having the Snagem name stolen thanks to Sub and Sol by activating the island’s self-destruct sequence, giving the Snagems just fifteen minutes to flee but not before the entire lab sealed itself shut.

The Snagems would fight their way out, dealing not just with the numerous blast doors but also with more of Ein’s creations such as horrible goo creatures and mutant Beedrill, their precious remaining minutes ticking away. Just when all hope seemed lost as Ein’s horrors had no intention on letting them escape Sub took a separate stand and with his Hydreigon executed a Black Hole Eclipse to draw in their attackers, if not defeat them but to buy his team enough time to escape to the submersible they used to arrive at the island originally. For a moment there it looked like Sub and Sol were taken out in the resulting damage however Sub’s Spiritomb managed to whisk them away in the nick of time, all Snagems on the island escaping the self-destruction of Citadark Isle and the horrors it once housed.

Upon returning to Gateon Port and exiting the Robo-Kyogre submersible the Snagems’ relief was short lived as the Snagems returned to a destroyed Kanto-Johto alliance naval fleet and the ones responsible for its destruction. Familiar and unwelcome faces in the form of Zera the Koffing (later revealed to be Weezing) hybrid, Kess the Zapdos hybrid, Dull the Gengar hybrid from another dimension, and the monster known as S-22, Ein’s new Team Cipher. From a screen on S-22’s chest Ein was displayed and spoke to them, revealing his responsibility in Aile’s kidnapping and taunting Snagem for their unwillingness to sacrifice a ‘pawn’. Sub would be his primary focus, claiming the Snagem leader always failed to see the ‘bigger picture’, Ein’s bigger picture.

Here he declared while he could kill them where they stood he would not. Instead he wished for them to realize how obsolete they truly were as they watched him bring about a new era. After explaining how weak Snagem was and how they have done nothing but react to his chess moves Ein would send a broadcast out to the world declaring Orre belonged to the new Team Cipher and all foreign forces were to stay far away from its shores. In this moment, to emphasize the kind of power Cipher now had at its disposable, the greatest and most horrible monstrosity Ein had ever created would rise up out of the ocean along with the wreckage from the fleet, the ultimate Shadow Pokemon; XD002, Shadow Mewtwo.

The clock had turned back to zero for Team Snagem, the real fight had just begun.

The World War

War would break out with the invasion of Unova by Kalosian forces, the region’s vast elemental gem resources desired by Lysandre as sources of fuel and to power various weaponry and Pokemon alike. With Unova’s resources Lysandre’s global ambitions would become an unstoppable threat and thus the stage was set for a global world with Unova as the main battlefield. The various regions would choose their sides in the conflict with Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Alola joining together under the Indigo Alliance to aid Unova while Kalos/Flare and Orre/Cipher banded together with secret support from a ‘neutral’ Sinnoh. While officially a part of the alliance Hoenn was embroiled in a civil war and its resources spread thin. The various ‘villainous’ teams would also join in the fighting with Magma, Rocket, and Plasma conditionally aiding the Alliance (Magma who had members in Hoenn government, Rocket who felt war was ruining their racket, and Plasma who wanted to defend their home region) while Aqua and Neo Plasma threw their weight behind Kalos and flare (Aqua who had been run out of influence in Hoenn and Neo Plasma who wanted to installed monarchy in Unova after the war). While the Alliance tried their best the situation in two of the regions made this difficult as civil war broke out in Hoenn, fueled by Magma and Aqua and Alola had little to give in the first place. It was during this time that Snagem learned Team Cipher, and Ein, had been supporting Lysandre the entire time, egging him on to claim Zygarde even.

Many battles would be fought over control over Unova as the Snagems fought alongside the alliance and old foes. The flow of the war was constantly shifting though for a large portion Kalos and Orre appeared to have the upperhand. The climax in the war would manifest in the Battle for Black City. Prior to this Snagem and the Alliance would learn from the Kalos resistance that Lysandre planned to use the old Cipher built city, now their base of operations, and the unearthed ancient plans of the Ultimate Weapon to create a new Ultimate Weapon out of Black Tower, however he had at this point failed to get it working. Sub would come up with the idea to wrestle control of Black City from Flare, seize control of Black Tower and use the Ultimate Weapon themselves to end the war.

The Battle for Black City was fierce, Lysandre completely learning of their plans and diverting resources to its defense. It was at this point where the world war had escalated tremendously, victory for the allies looking bleak as they searched for a decisive victory in Black City. Several legendary Pokemon took part in the battle including Giovanni’s Mewtwo, Lysandre’s Zygarde, the Snagem Regi trio, and the native Zekrom under Rhyme’s command. The brutal battle would end with Zac freeing his consciousness inside Zygarde Complete and splitting it into two 50% forms which did battle with each other while the Snagems claimed Black Tower and successfully managed to fire off the Ultimate Weapon, fueled by the natural energies of the fighting Zygardes. The beam from the Ultimate Weapon would fall back down on Black City, destroying the city entirely, the allies escaping seconds before destruction. After the dust settled Black City was gone and Zygarde’s energies stirred nature to take over where it was, expanding nearby White Forest.

With Lysandre himself meeting defeat during the battle and their base of operations in Unova destroyed, the Kalosian war effort in Unova crumbled, Orre forces having withdrawn before even the end of the Battle for Black City. The world war was all but over, now all that was left was to take back the captured territory and push the invaders out, the Kalosian forces in disarray without their leader. In time back home Kalos would rid themselves of all monarchy and become the Kalosian Republic. With a major victory won and the end of war in sight, Snagem felt it was now time to turn their attention to a foe they hadn’t had a chance to worry about, the final threat to world stability; Ein.

The Final Fight Against Ein

Now able to focus on Ein the Snagems set out to put an end to his manipulations only to discover he had been busy in Kalos with Lysandre distracted, discovering the entrance to the Fairy Realm beneath Lumiose Tower, it was here in this realm where Ein would find what he always desired, the source of all life, the World Tree, the Tree of Life, Xerneas. Snagem was late to stop the trespassing in the Fairy Realm, having been delayed by Ein’s last underling in Zera, but arrived soon enough to do battle with his most vile creation yet, the ultimate Shadow Pokemon, XD002, Shadow Mewtwo, cloned from Cera’s own cells. Having finally putting an end to all of Ein’s admins all the Snagems had to do was stop Shadow Mewtwo who was now planning to infect the Tree of Life and spread the Shadow virus through its roots, permanently infecting the entire planet for all time, Ein’s ultimate goal for the Shadow virus. After a grueling fight that looked bleak at times the Snagems would push back Shadow Mewtwo and with Cera’s true power in the form of Genesis Supernova the team would completely destroy Shadow Mewtwo and save the world from a permanent Shadow virus plague. It was at this point the realization came to be that Zygarde only worked with Lysandre in hopes of stopping the Shadow threat to the world, having predicted this would come to a head.

While in effect Ein had been defeated their battle with him was not yet over, now was their chance to finish off Ein once and for all, the fight taking them back to where it all started; Orre.

The Snagems would learn that Ein had turned Realgam Tower into a fortress unlike any seen before, complete with an impenetrable steel dome coated with a constant Protect. Realizing they needed a way to breach the dome they acquired the rebuilt S.S. Anne ll and fitted it with technology from the S.S. Libra as well as Cipher’s own technology to allow it to fly and draw power from HQ’s power source, the Zapdos Heart, which was now onboard the ship. With everything read the S.S. Anne ll was launched straight for Realgam Fortress, flying at such speeds that the ship appeared to travel through space and time (later realizing they had partially traveled through Ultra Space) before eventually arriving in front of Realgam Fortress, the Snagems teleporting off right before the ship impacted and breached the dome.

With the dome breach the Snagems now fought their way to and up Realgam Tower to seek out Ein, another group remaining behind to fight the hordes of Shadow Pokemon that littered the outside of the fortress to buy time for their teammates seeking out Ein. At one point Ein would reveal that Realgam Tower had been fitted with the same Ultimate Weapon technology and fired it upon the Snagems fighting the Shadow horde outside, instantly eradicating half the team. Further motivated to stop the madman once and for all the remaining Snagems pushed on, arriving at the top to face all of Ein’s monsters, including the restored and improved S-22. It was here that S-22 would meet its proper defeat, the team this time freeing the hybrid from Ein’s mind control, the Sharpedo hybrid disappearing to parts unknown. During the final fight with Ein’s creations Aden would appear and with him the thought for dead Snagems appeared with him, the boy having used the last Time Flute to go back in time and save them from the blast.

With Snagem reunited they would defeat the last vestiges of Ein’s forces and finally, after decades of fighting, Sub and Ein would meet face to face once again only to discover the ‘youthful’ Ein was actually a decrepit old man kept alive via machines and medicines. Declaring their fight over and himself the victor Sub seized Ein and eventually would imprison him in his own modified ‘safe room’, having Darts take it to the Distortion World where it will drift for all eternity, Ein never aging, never to know escape in the vast emptiness.

The war against Cipher was finally over, however the threat of the Shadow Pokemon would be with them for the time being, though they could take solace in knowing Ein was finally gone, left to suffer for what he did, tied to a chair in his ‘safe room’ in the Distortion World, his only source of ‘entertainment’ a constant stream of all his victims.

The World Champion Cup

With the world finally at peace the neutral region of Galar decided to repair fractured bonds and set animosity aside after the war by hosting the World Champion Cup, the idea behind it that they will choose a champion to represent the entire world, a sort of global diplomat. All regions were invited with a team assembled representing their regions and a ‘Team Rangers’ put together to represent the three Ranger Union regions. While not regional representatives themselves, Snagem was invited to take part in the challenge due to their aid in ending the war. The Snagems would take part in many challenges in the WCC, banding together in the Wild Area survival portion, fighting against the other teams to acquire Wishing Pieces needed to advance to the next round. It was during the challenge they became aware of the mysterious Team Stella who seemed to be succeeding greatly in the survival challenge, allegedly stealing Wishing Pieces from others, yet disappeared completely in the next round. Another mysterious opponent was a Normal Channeler commanding a strange mutant Pokemon (Type: Null), his strength incredible but he too disappearing after the survival round. Something was fishy but alas the Snagems could do little about it.

It was during the WCC when disaster struck for the Snagems. An incorporeal entity known as ‘the Ziton’ appeared, at first attacking other Psychics participating in the festivities. The Ziton is an amalgamation of forcefully disembodied Psychic minds, the Ziton constantly searching for more Psychic minds to add to itself to increase its power, besides that its purpose, or who created it, is unknown. The Ziton would attack Reno and Crystal, the former having history with it. During the attack Crystal’s body would be taken over by the Ziton and her mind saved from it and put into a Psychic constructed ‘goo body’ constructed by Reno. The Snagems would face off against the Ziton and in its defeat it would rip open a wormhole (in Ultra Space) a monstrous appendage (Guzzlord’s claw) attacking through it. Unfortunately Crystal in the goo body would get sucked up in this wormhole and would be lost to Ultra Space, her Espeon hybrid body destroyed by the Snagems to stop the Ziton. When and where Crystal would reappear, if every, was anyone’s guess.

Trying to push forward the Snagems would continue in the challenges and in the next round, the tournament round, Snagem’s chosen would battle against the other region trainers and advance fairly far but all Snagems would meet defeat, destiny deciding none of them would become the first World Champion. After all the battles were done a trainer from Kanto would rise above all others and become the first World Champion, a trainer from Pallet Town, Green.

An Ultra Threat from Beyond

With the WCC over the Snagems finally having time to rest they would mourn Crystal. After some time a mysterious cat-like woman of a Pokemon hybrid species unknown appeared on the radar that seemed to have far more knowledge of Snagem than any non-member should. In time it was revealed that this woman was a Solgaleo hybrid and none other than Crystal herself. While her mind was pulled into Ultra Space she began to cling onto her very existence and became transformed, first into a Cosmog then evolving up to a Solgaleo. While she spent many years in another reality the woman would find her way back home, originally calling herself Sundaria but remembering her old life and name in time.

Crystal would not be their first nor last interdimensional visitor as just weeks later a wormhole, like the one back in Galar, opened up on Mount Silver and spit out three strange entities. One a female Zoroark hybrid named Monique, another a strange hybrid of unknown species (Nihilego) named Clare, and finally a savage creature, something called an ‘Ultra Beast’, the species dubbed Blacephalon. The Snagems would fight back against the creature, prematurely blasting itself back through the wormhole it came from. The Snagems take in these two strange hybrids and let them join the team. From here with Crystal’s help they would begin to study these ‘Ultra Beast’ and the greater Ultra Space.

There would be little time to concern themselves with these studies however as another Ultra Wormhole appeared, this time in the Silver Labyrinth beneath Mount Silver. Journeying there they found the Minotaur, a once savage hybrid that took several Snagems to defeat, utterly defeated by a strange Ultra Beast, this one composed of several living ‘bricks’, something called a Stakataka. After a fierce battle that looked hopeless at points the Snagems actually knocked out their first Ultra Beast, unlike the last one that simply was pulled back into Ultra Space. With the knowledge that these things can be defeated the team felt more confident. It was at this point where Crystal, Reno, and Aden took it upon themselves, unknown to all other teammates, to venture into Ultra Space to find Crystal’s old notes to maybe find the answers they needed in it.

While the team wanted to study what was happening more the invasions on their reality would not stop as another Ultra Beast appeared in the labyrinth, this time a Kartana, Sub originally fighting it himself due to Gardy having mistakenly teleported him there as a ‘joke’. Back up would arrive just in time as Sub and his Pokemon were badly beaten by this tiny Ultra Beast, the group coming together to quickly put it down, far faster than the last. For a brief moment it seemed like they had everything under control, that was until a meteor came crashing through the wormhole in the room with explosive impact, sending the gathered Snagems into Ultra Space.

When they came-to the team would find themselves in the ‘past’ in a land called ‘Hisui’, the name of old Sinnoh during its colonization period. Here they would be forced to split into two groups, one of humans that joined the local Jubilife Village and one of hybrids that were forced to remain in the wilds, away from the paranoid natives. They would remain in this strange land for some weeks, simply trying to survive, Darts himself taken prisoner by the village in exchange for safety and resources for all Snagems, hybrids included, the villagers believing him to be an ‘Evil God’. Eventually the Snagems would resolve to free Darts and flee the village, successfully doing so. They would then learn of a way back home, thanks to the mysterious merchant Volo, through the massive space-time distortion above Mt. Coronet, all they had to do was forge something called the ‘Red Chain’ from the fragments of power bestowed by the Lake Guardians. They would successfully seek out the guardians and earn their fragments, forging the Red Chain for Darts to use. Traveling through the distortion and into the Distortion World thanks to Darts and the Red Chain the Snagems would finally return home, Volo watching closely as they left.

Back to School

While the threat of invaders from Ultra Space still looms over the Snagems and the greater world, the team noted that these spikes of Ultra Energy disappeared almost completely after returning from Hisui, leading the team to believe that for the time being they could relax. Taking the opportunity to do just that the team set off for the region of Paldea, to explore a land most of them, except Sol, the native Paldean, had not set foot in. The Snagems would enjoy a cruise on their way to the new region and spent one day in the port city of Porto Marinada before trouble found them, or rather they found it. Thanks in part to their ignorance of the region and the native fauna the team attacked a local Pokemon celebrity, a shiny Toedscruel, mistaking it for a Shadow Pokemon. They would only learn their mistake after enraging the locals.

Quickly news of their mistake made its way to the region’s government and the Indigo Alliance, in turn the governments of the various regions gave Team Snagem an ultimatum; attend classes at Uva-Naranja Academy in Paldea to gain a proper education to prevent such incidents in the future or lose their status as an officially sanctioned group, thus being relegated back to illegal vigilantes. Not wanting to risk their status, the Snagems complied and enrolled at Uva-Naranja, looking to earn their license to operate in all regions.

The Snagems would learn from Director Clavell that they had three possible ways of earning the academy’s recommendation of approval of Team Snagem. There was an educational way, that is a satisfactory number of their members earned a degree from the academy, easily the longest method. There was the classic Pokemon trainer manner called Victory Road where just one Snagem had to earn all eight badges of Paldea, a relatively simple path. And the third path was the Path of Legends, that is to aid Ms. Raifort in uncovering the secrets of the Herba Mystica and the Titan Pokemon, earning her approval of the team. There was also a secret ‘fourth path’ offered to Sub which Clavell declared to be dubbed ‘Starstreet’, that is to secretly aid him in taking down Team Star and returning delinquent students to school without letting the public know.

The Snagems would be divided up among these four paths and spend some time seeing them to their conclusion which involved fighting five Titan Pokemon and clashing with the strangely aggressive Squad Bosses of Team Star. It was during their struggle with Team Star that Snagem uncovered some strange things such as Team Star acquiring old Cipher technology to power their Starmobiles, provided to them from a mysterious ‘benefactor’. Eventually the struggle with Team Star reached its climax with a Star assault on the academy with their Starmobile empowered not just by Cipher tech but also the same energy that created Titan Pokemon. It was during this chaos that another threat reared its head in the form of the Ziton, another strange coincidence.

It would be revealed that something was making Team Star so aggressive, a strange fungus that influenced the minds of its victims. After defeating Team Star the Snagems would discover the one behind the fungus that drove Team Star mad was their very same benefactor, a person tentatively declared to be dubbed ‘Mister Mushroom’. Why Mister Mushroom drove Team Star to attack not just the school but Team Snagem is not yet known, but what is known is that Mister Mushroom knows more about Snagem than they do and has some sort of axe to grind against them.

With Team Star defeated and the Path of Legends complete Team Snagem had earned the recommendation of Uva-Naranja Academy, finally and officially permitting Team Snagem to operate legally in all regions of the world. For the next year this is exactly what Team Snagem would do, travel the world to capture Shadow Pokemon and save people and Pokemon from the lingering threat of the Shadow Virus. They had finally found their place in the world and could be seen as the heroes they always thought themselves to be.

But like all good things this too would not last…
