Jeane pretended not to notice the occasional look he attracted from the Inn's other patrons as he slowly worked his way through the hearty breakfast of eggs, sausage, and potatoes. Though he tried not to dwell on the fact he knew that he drew this unwanted attention for the sole reason that he was the only human in the entire establishment, everywhere else one might look they would see naught but creatures that looked as though they belong in a fairy tale. The knight wasn't especially unnerved by this fact though, quite the contrary, he found the beastpeoples of Itomori to be a fascinating bunch, their cultures, their styles, the sheer variety in their appearances, all of it captured the man's mind. Though he was somewhat embarrassed to admit to it he'd even paid for the... "services" of one of their kin just last night after a particularly miserable journey in the torrential rains that plagued the area. She had looked human enough when he'd first laid eyes upon her, aside from a pair of ears and a bushy tail that peeked from beneath her dress she was almost shockingly human in appearance. After her clothes had come off though... That was the true surprise, her forearms were covered in a thick, coarse fur and ended in massive paws that concealed stubby claws, the same could be said of her legs as well. Jeane had been so impressed by what he saw he had asked her if he might be allowed to make a sketch of her in his journal, after some confusion she allowed him to and he suspected she was more comfortable with this arrangement than what she'd likely envisioned would happen.
The knight set down his fork and leaned back in his chair with a huff, he wasn't sure if there had been a miscommunication or if beastpeople simply ate like this as normal, but he wasn't sure how he was put away the great quantity of food they'd given him. He cast his gaze about the place to test his theory, as he looked around however he paid less attention to what the other patrons ate and instead was fixated on studying their features. Again he could not help but marvel at the bewildering variance he beheld, while some were like the woman he'd shared the previous night with others had a distinctly more beastly appearance with only the barest traces of humanity visible. His musing were interrupted though when the serving girl, a creature that looked more like an oversized cat that had learned to walk on two legs, drew up next to his table with a pitcher in hand.
"Would sir enjoy another drink?" She inquired in human tongue, Jeane felt a pang of guilt in his heart at his inability to yet understand the beastmen's language, mostly because it made him stand out even more. In a somewhat flustered manner he held out his cup to her, he attempted a warm smile but the result was more of an awkward grin that drew a peculiar look from the serving girl, who nonetheless filled his mug once more. The knight mumbled something approximating a thank you as he felt his cheeks warm slightly then looked back down at his food, drink off to the side with his hand firmly grasped round it.
