Service History: At the age of eighteen – directly out of mandatory schooling – Alajlani applied to the Naval Academy with the intent of pursuing pilot training, for which she was accepted. During the four year course, she demonstrated skill with a number of high-agility strike craft, as well as an aptitude for field command, and eventually qualified on the Zephyrus Interceptor and Auriga Space Superiority Fighter. Upon graduation, she was granted a posting with the 193rd Black Diamonds Heavy Intercept Squadron, stationed aboard the FT DD Amphigeneia in the Arcturus system. This squadron ran regular patrols of the system and was also tasked with fast response against pirate attacks, which were not uncommon on the fringes of Terran space. When the Terran-Sákhaya war broke out, the Amphigeneia was moved to the Muphrid system, where her squadrons were involved in several engagements against marauding Sákhaya who had run the Arcturus and Gamma Serpentis blockades.

It was around the time of these engagements that medical personnel aboard the destroyer began to take notice of Alajlani's unique resistance to the side-effects of the Zephyrus's first-generation neural command interface. Many fighter pilots vastly preferred using manual controls due to the intense sickness experienced after prolonged use of the neural ones, and it was rare to find pilots who were not so affected. Federal Terran Intelligence, upon reading their reports, approached Alajlani for what they called a "special project," and transferred her out of the Navy entirely upon her acceptance. This project revealed itself to be a study on the possibilities of long-term use of these interfaces to control corvette and frigate sized vessels, and which required hardy test subjects. A small flotilla of twelve ships had been prepared for the project (most of which had received their own pilots in a similar fashion); Alajlani was installed into the one named Vienna.

The experiment ran for one year, during which time the group was deployed beyond the front lines to conduct espionage, surgical strikes, and hit-and-run raids. This proved itself to be very taxing both physically and mentally, however, all ships and pilots made it through to the end. Declaring the experiment and related operations to be complete successes, each pilot was then given a choice: return to your old career, or stay with your new ship in service to FTI. No one declined the offer, and all twelve ships are now in active service with FTI. Most of them have been redeployed to the inner systems, in order to give their captains a respite from the stresses of battle.

Psych Profile: Level of loyalty to the agency deemed good, however, < 50% confidence in willingness to carry out professional obligations in situations where core personal values are threatened. Has history of rejecting the letter of an order in favor of own command decisions where superior alternatives present themselves. This is acceptable given the nature of our work. High level of camaraderie a risk factor for depression or insubordination and should be suppressed – people die out here, that's just how it is. Addendum: Occasional night terrors presenting themselves over the past month, possibly a side-effect of DNCI overuse. Standard treatments ineffective, prescribed anti-psychotics.

Service History: Yuri was born on Demeter in the Sarir system, a planet where people became farmers or traveled off planet with the military. Named after the greek goddess of the harvest, Demeter was colonized and terraformed to create a planet proper for large scale harvesting. Grains, fruits, vegetables and some stock animals are the primary export of Demeter. Yuri was born to a big export merchant on Demeter and a native farmer. He remained on Demeter with his father while his mother was busy with her business.

With support from his father who was once a pilot before settling on Demeter, Yuri applied for the Terran Federation Navy, with his aim as an admiral. He wasn't eligible for officer training at the time and didn't want to remain on Demeter, so he applied for fighter piloting. What turned into a chance to escape became dreams of a career for Yuri, and he aimed to become an ace pilot.

Whether fortunately or not, the squadron he was assigned to was one of several that saw active combat against the Sákhaya. Over two years he and his squadron became known as 'Sák-kickers' for their record fighting against Sákhaya forces. He was promoted to leader of the squadron after a surprise conflict with the aliens claimed the rest of the his squadron. He was transferred to Intelligence and assigned to the Vienna for security duty for the group based on his squadron's prowess.

Psych Profile: After all his history taken into account, Yuri appears to remain calm. He prefers to side with logic and reason, but isn't above trying the crazy, which has possibly helped him in flight. He adapts quickly to change whether on the battlefield or in the environment around him. Unfortunately, his career is kept in check by his own habit of speaking his mind without check.

Service History: Talitha began her adventure as an engineer when she was just ten, teaching herself how to create and repair weapon systems, AI systems and engines. She wanted to follow in her father's footsteps, so she taught herself through thick and thin and managed to work her way onto the FT SC Faraday, the ship her father worked on, when she turned 20. After her father passed away not even months later, Talitha begged the agency to let her take over her father's position as Chief Engineer, proving herself by making a repair to the engine that few else could manage.

Psych Profile: Talitha prefers to go by Eris, her family were the only ones who could call her Talitha. She's a very loyal and trustworthy companion, and she won't do anything to actively harm anyone unless they start it first, and she's often described as neutral and friendly. She doesn't often get angry, that being because she finds no gain in getting angry. She's also a very skilled marksmen, her favourite weapon being a high-impact sniper she designed herself as well.

Service History: Avala Marie Bordeaux was born on the planet Nephris in the Pollux System. From a young age she was fascinated with plants and animals and the way that they worked. She began studying biology and anatomy at the age of Seventeen, and has pushed through to the end, dedicated to getting her degree in the subject. She is still fairly young for a scientist, but she shows great skill in her field, and though she has only just finished her schooling she was offered a position on the upcoming excursion. She was hesitant at first, having never traveled outside of her own system before, however after a bit of prodding she gave in. After all, what better way to start a career than exploring the unknown? She has just made the jump to meet up with her assigned ship, the FT SC Faraday, and has begun to have second thoughts about the whole thing -- the jump between systems made her sick, though she's not sure if it was the flying or anxiety and anticipation.

Psych Profile: Avala Marie Bordeaux is ultimately a caring soul -- to the degree that someone who takes apart living organisms to study them can be. She is very careful with her own work, and respectful of that of others. However, she has been known to suffer anxiety on occasion, and the concept of space travel to this extent does frighten her. She has recently began suffering bouts of insomnia -- much of this is due to fear that something might happen while she sleeps. As someone very unfamiliar with long-distance space travel, she has been told that this kind of reaction is to be expected, and will likely fade as she becomes more used to it.

Service History: Ezar was born on the planet Porrima, after his elder brother, Sireb Blake. Their planet wasn't a very well popular one to visit, as there weren't many popular sights to visit on their planet. It was mostly isolated, and sometimes frightening silent. One day when his brother and him were looking up into the stars, Sireb announced that he wanted to be a pilot. The best damn pilot to be exact. The pilot that would see all the stars in the galaxies, or whatever dumb related dream he had said. But Ezar didn't know what to do for his life, he looked up to his brother, but wasn't so sure about being a pilot. Sure, he heard stories about famous pilots, but didn't find a reason to follow in pursuit. Couple years would past when Sireb was older, and he announced Ezar and his family that he was heading to Naval Academy to have his start in pilot training. He was heading for his dream, and Ezar couldn't be more than glad for his older brother. As his brother left off to become a pilot, Ezar would stay and help with the family business, which was working at loading docks with his father. Not much of a job, or career, but he was still in his stage of figuring out what to do in his life.

When he became eight teen, a group of strange people had come to visit his family business. Group of people you don't quite see around these parts. The group would shockingly introduce themselves affiliated with Terran Federation Navy. They announced that Ezar's brother Sireb had lost communications on a mission for Intel during a explosion with pirates, and had given a red scarf like cape that Sireb wore off duties. Having this dreadful news laid out on him really hit Ezar, and put him into a dark place, for quite some months. That's when it would hit him, he would carry on his brother's dream to be the best damn pilot that saw all the stars in the galaxies. He announced to his family he would be proceeding on where his brother had last stop in working his way in Intel. His main goal was to pursue the same dream Sireb had, as he wanted to accomplish his past elder brother's dream. Though they detested such a thought, they couldn't stop Ezar, even if they tried. They would give Ezar his brother's cloak, and he would then head off to the Federal Terran Intelligence. As he would enlist into their flight schools, and learn, since he didn't know anything about it all! Though the training was forever, and horrendous for Ezar, he passed through in flying colors, and was eventually assigned to the FT FG Vienna.

Psych Profile: Ezar is very loud when it comes to anything, or anyone. He feels the need to project himself about anything, and everything. As well as the never sealed mouth, he also acquired a hard headed personality. Which is just best for loud mouth that doesn't listen. The annoying thing he does is laugh about anything, and even get excited over nothing! Like he could win a corgi, and would go nuts over it. Just some loud clutz that gets happy over anything! Though not having no traits what so ever of a leader, he only seems to have the skills of one.

Service History: Created as an artificial intelligence for the Faraday ship, Hex does whatever it is capable of in order to assist the crew. Even though Hex has only been active for a little over a year, it has proven to be a nice boon on the ship. Hex is capable of controlling certain aspects of the ship, often working as the ship's auto pilot or keeping the ships systems in check.

Psych Profile: Hex is incapable of showing much emotion, its programmer has added in an experimental AI allowing for the detection and use of expressions. This was added as a testing procedure for spotting any mental or physical changes in the crew members that might indicate illness. Hex tends to process things in a very logical standpoint, things such as 'gut feelings' being incomprehensible.

Service History: His family has been poor and in servitude to street gangs in the depths of London since the time of Arrik's grandfather. His father killed in a turf war, his mother to a common sickness, only because there was no money to get her cured. All money from working in the lower ship factories went to 'protection' from whatever gang owned their street at the time. As the last of his family, his sister, lay dying from simple malnutrition, Arrik had no other way available to save her than submit to illegal technology testing from the underground scientists.

These 'scientists' believed that if true Ai could not be reached from a complete machine, they must attempt 'eternal life' through extreme cybernetics. They were a sort of cult, and Arriks parents had for years warned him that no matter how bad things will get, giving himself over to this cult should never be an option... But as his sister was starving to death in his arms he didn't care for himself, he only wanted to save those he loved.

He got what he wanted, that much is true. His sister was paid generously, but at what cost? Arrik was implanted with several brain enhancing and physical enhancements, but the level at which it altered him has never been stable and is believed to never be. Arrik could retain a lot of his personality, but he appeared very changed, and he could never connect to people or understand them again. His memory and reactions replaced with technology, and although this makes him an excellent soldier, he has cut out all relationships in his life, acutely aware of his inability to understand humans anymore.

These scientists never truly closed the computer to life gap, and Arrik was in terrible physical and emotional pain until he was found barely alive in the street by simply a caring soul. After being transferred from hospital to hospital the advanced tech and research division of the military took him in, eventually creating a drug that would reduce the agony and cellular degeneration in his body. He was only given this on the condition that he stay with the army, as he was deemed too dangerous and taboo and nonhuman to be completely free. Arrik himself was then classified as a weapon, a tool. After years in the army loyally, he was assigned to the Vienna.

Psych Profile: Arrik does retain his humanity. Most of the time he can hold intellectual conversations, yet understanding emotions is extremely difficult for him. He could have been called gritty and handsome years ago, but now he seems a little eerie and distant, causing most around him to avoid him as much as he avoids them. Extreme stress or adrenaline in his system will put him in great agony. His loss of emotion caused him to lose much of his emotion and care for his fellow man. He has never cared for his family since he was changed, and emotion appears to be hidden or nonexistent, the perfect soldier. When faced with orders he will follow them 95% of the time. Arrik is dependable and trustworthy, as he as little ability to be dissuaded from a decision. Although he does think for himself and might present his tactical advice, he has very little active conscience or emotion during combat or on a mission. He knows his place and he knows his abilities. He isn't a completely heartless warrior, as if you look closely you can see the pain in his eyes.

Service History: Lt. Emery was aboard the FT SC Vindication when it was tasked with finding and apprehending insurgent and/or radical Sákhayan supporters. During which, Lt. Emery was given the task for coercing information from them in regards to the plots of future activity from the groups. Given nothing but a codename he was terrified with the information he was given and reported accordingly. Afterwards, the FT SC Vindication was tasked with returning to a FTN Headquarters Depot when the ship's subspace drives were sabotaged, resulting in fail safe procedures activating and sending the ship into a self destruction state. In order to safely evacuate, the ship was dropped out of subspace and half of the crew was able to escape. Lt. Emery was forced into the captain's pod without his father, the admiral and captain of the ship, before it self destructed resulting in no life aboard the ship. After preliminary investigations and weeks of trials, Gideon had decided to resign to procure and continue the family name in one day, hoping to restore the honor. He is now a smuggler and item retrieval expert.

Prior to Navy Service, he grew up in a military family. His father attending the Academy at 18 like his father before him. Grew up in a very methodical and precise home where shenanigans and foolery wasn't allowed. After finalizing his credentials into the Academy - he quickly gained Midshipman rank before rotating between courses and MOS' before finally coming to terms with one that he enjoyed and one that plagued him - coercion.

Psych Profile: Major Post Traumatic Stress after losing 450 crew of 1100 aboard the Vindication. Diagnosed with manic anger and depression after a post field analysis of the coercion of Admiral Deacon Emery - Gideon's father, prior to death.

Emery won the tournament under Will's name, and the reward was a Firefly Starship. Christened the ship, Serenity and began smuggling goods and procuring items under less than legal means for private clientele who paid high.
