Silence.
Demanding. Screaming. Condemning. There was nothing quite like it- nothing as deadly- nowhere in the realms of Althera. For years had the young girl ventured into the depths of her home, returning each night to her home in the palace, much to her mothers disapproval, especially on those days when she returned caked in mud or salty water.
But now those days were over.
Two knocks on the door, a small smile on her face as she clung to the lavender in her now not-so-small hands. "Mother~" she smiled opening the door, entering the queens chamber. "Mother, I've brought you a present."
From the depths of the room the ghost stirred, barely making much of a sound as she tried to force a smile. "You never change..." wheezed the Queen, reaching up carefully to touch the delicate flowers. How she had missed the sweet smell, the peaceful and purple plant bringing back many memories.

It sounds both sad and passionate, I could see a good story in this. Well after all you do have some interesting stories. I can't say I've read much of them but you have a good spin on real life events.

Her body grew weaker by the day, her breath shortened with each breath she took. It was pretty clear that she was dying. The young maiden knew that within time it would be her turn to rule the kingdom, and to look after the land. "Mother...." she bowed her head silently.
A heavy silence filled the room.
"I want you to be happy... Aura..." wheezed the Queen. Her hand reached out to cup her daughters cheek, a small tear floating down her ghostly face. It pained her to see her daughter like this, but she was not getting any younger, or healthier.
Letting out a deep sigh she pulled away and leaned back into the covers of her bed. The plush covers offered some comfort to ease her aching back.
"I always knew this day would come, and that one day I would fade ... away..." she croaked out the last word, her eyes growing hazy.
"Please don't talk of such things... you are wise and gallant, just as you were when I was little... pl-"
"I'm sending you out on a quest. Three men have been called in to accompany you on this challenge. You never did like to sit still. I know how much you love your training, and how much you still insist that you are a lady. But there is one thing which I must see before I die, and only you can bring this thing home." Aura's eyes began watering now.
"I cannot go, I refuse to l-"
"I will cut you off until I die Aura, you are going, and that is that. I will still be here when you get back, I made a deal... my soul shall not rest until this final thing is done...." A warm smile crossed the old Queen's face as she looked out of the window almost as if pondering something.
Aura remained silent. A mission, and while her mother was on deaths bed. But what was this thing that her mother wanted to see before she died? And who were these three men who were to accompany her on her quest.
Bowing her head in respect the young maiden sighed. "If that is what my mother pleases... then who am I to reject..."
