Here is a question I'm always interested in hearing the answer to. How did your family/friends/anyone close to you react when you "came out of the broom closet""?
Mine flipped out. I spent 3 hours trying to explain my beliefs, only to be told they are stupid and made no sense. I've hidden all evidence of my beliefs now so I don't start any arguments with my family anymore.

Mine were pretty cool about it, but they lean that way anyways.

My mum was very disappointed, my brother doesn't care, and my dad (still) thinks that it's "just a phase". All over they're not the most supportive of people but they all figured that there are worse ways I could "rebel against them". rolleyes

❝ I'm not exactly in the broom closet or out of it. I'm kind of half and half at this point.
I've had Pagan books kind of hidden in my closet until my mom discovered Drawing Down the Moon and she looked at the back and didn't say anything.
My parents aren't exactly religious. My mom's more of a lapsed Catholic at this point or at least borderline Agnostic, my dad's an atheist. Though my mom still says we're all Catholics o.o;; ❞

Whorrid Excuses I just came out to my mom and she rejected it completely so im just like "Oh" as far as my family knows, most think im an atheist and my mom assumes im christian like she is, which is just kinda of a vague religiousness she has. they are free to think what they like about me
im so sorry you had a hard time with it honey. i hope they come around eventually

My grandmother was fine with it. Actually she encouraged me to learn more about different religions other than just Christianity. My mother on the other hand is still getting use to the idea that one of her children is not a christian while her other one follows the church of god instead of Baptist beliefs. My dad doesn't really care as long as no fires are started in the house he's an atheist. And my grandfather is a baptist but is pretty lenient and keeps to himself. So I guess all in all my family is supportive?
