Hyun- Bin:
The heroine of the story. To survive the harsh life on the streets, Hyun-Bin has been pretending to be male upon advice from an older girl, a prostitute. Hyun-Bin and her little brother, Pig, were forced to beg by a local gang. One day, the money they earned is stolen by one of the other gang members and when Hyun-Bin cannot explain to the gang leader what happened to the money, she and her brother are thrown out to spend the night outside in the freezing cold as punishment. Pig does not make it through the night and distraught Hyun-Bin runs away. By chance, she is taken in by a rich family, where she is trained to become a male bodyguard, she undergoes years of rigorous physical training as well as coaching to fix her speech and mannerisms to be boy-like. Finally, deemed to be worthy, she becomes Yae-Ha's bodyguard.
Yae-Ha Yun:
Coming from a rich family, Yae-Ha has lived a sheltered life. Her parents both died in a plane crash. Hyun-Bin soon becomes her bodyguard. She begins to think of her as more friend/family for which she is scolded by her grandfather. She's often the cause of Hyun-Bin's injuries, as her innocent views and believes clash with others, particularly Yun-Ha and his gang. Yae-hae doesn't know that Hyun-Bin is a girl and is very passionate about Yun-ha Lee. (When she is 25 yrs old she finds out the truth about Hyun bin and is digusted by her grandfather. She walks out on him to start a new life. Her grandfather was so heartbroken that he died of an illness)<----- This is a lot later
Yun Ha:
When he was a child , Yun-Ha was a cause of an accident that killed his mother and the girl he liked and sent his elder brother into a coma.He blames himself for the tragic event and decides not enjoy anything in his life. He does not care for his own life contantly risks by fighting or recklessly driving. He repeatedly claims that he does not like girls and can turn hostile towards them.
Chi- Ho:
Ja Chi-Ho is a member of Red Scorpion and is regarded as Yun-Ha's right hand man. He is the first person to challenge Suh Hyun-Bin in high school. He wanted to sit next to Yun Yae-Ha, but Suh Hyun-Bin disagreed so he challenged her to a match. He told her if he won, he wouldn't bother Yun Yae-Ha anymore. Suh Hyun-Bin agreed and she won the match-Ja Chi-Ho was pissed. After that little incident he disliked her even more.
Chi ho had confused romantic feelings for Hyun bin. He continues to harass her assuming that she is in fact a female but wasnt sure. He later finds out in the bathroom and his feelings are finalized. He was annoyingly protective and passionate of hyun bin who only liked him as a partner at school. But other than the annoying presence of Chi ho, Hyun bin considers him a close friend.
Ga-Hyun:
Ga-Hyun is a member of Yun-Ha's gang. She has a violent temper and a particular dislike for Hyun-Bin and Yae-Ha. she was jealous of her older sister because she liked Lee-yun ha and she knew she couldnt win his heart.
Bi-Rak:
He loses his bestfriend (Yong-Chun), his girlfriend (who was afraid to be a gangster's girlfriend), his grandmother (who couldnt speak and was hated by neighbors), his little brother(not by blood relations). He became a gangster because he says he hit rock bottom, he has no purpose in life anymore. Until he meets Suh hyun bin who he later develops romantic feelings for when he figures out she is a girl when she was stabbed and taken to the hospital by him a nurse tells him it was a girl.
