It can also up the side affects or stop the sacred gear of others. His right eye turns blue when he is using aid, his left red when he is using abandon. While using one he moves very slowly, using both he cannot move at all. Prolong usage causes him to pass out. After he passes out the powers of his allies is momentarily weakened. Enemies gain power boosts so it is not recommended for prolong battle use.

So when he turned 15 his family went on a trip to the Elbrus range. There his sister fell down a hill dying when she hit the bottom. Ray became a bit depressed and decided to leave his family, transferring to the academy. Now here he is.
