Ariano was at her limit, she couldn't take much more of this. She was slipping in and out of consciousness, and she flinched as he touched her forehead. She thought he was going to finish her, but he did the opposite. The one painful aura had vanished, and she was able to breath again. She gasped, air filling her desperate lungs with precious oxygen. Once she wasn't on the brink of death, her eyes fluttered open softly. She first curled into a ball, her body trying to regain normal functions. Once that happened, her raspy gasped slowly turned into heavy pants. Heavy pants then turned into light pants as more oxygen flowed through her body. She took a shaky breath, sitting up, as she held her head lightly. Her arms stung from the glass. However, other than a light headache she seemed fine. She used her sleeve to wipe her tears away, and then looked up at him. She could now see him as clear as day. He had crimson hair and eyes, and he was shirtless. He seemed to have half of a Fairy Tail mark and something else. That's when it hit her. Once he mentioned being the Demon King, something clicked in her head. Her was the leader of Raven Tail, Micheal the Demon King. She shivered at the thought, and she backed away slowly. However, his actions confused her. He had helped ease her pain, and on top of that his words didn't seem threatening at all. Why was that? He had called her a "little mage" which wasn't surprising. She looked at him with curiosity. She thought that Micheal was heartless, and killed without batting an eyelash. However, if that was the case why was she still alive?
He wasn't anything like she thought he was, he even seemed kind of a moment. Why was she so afraid of Raven Tail? Was this what Ray meant when he said they're not all bad? She pondered the thought, someone this strong existed. It also seemed that others wanted a piece of him too, or at least the title he carried. He wondered just what kind of past he really had, Ariano didn't see him as someone who was totally evil at one point. It was then his eyes turned cold again, and she flinched a bit. she was sort of expecting that, but at the same time it was still terrifying. She gulped, she wanted to run, but maybe... maybe he would help her? Her lips quivered "Y... you're strong right, Geno... looked stronger recently" she commented. What was she even saying?! She gulped, her small hands curling into fists "C.... can you... do you make people stronger?" she asked weakly, her eyes moving towards the floor. She was sweating now, why did she even ask that in the first place? She didn't know, but deep deep down, she wanted to know his answer. Could he make people stronger?

Micheal looked at the girl as she spoke of geno being stronger and if he could make people stronger. Micheal looked at the small mage and calmly spoke. " I help people find their own strength i do not make people stronger or force them to grow stronger i just give them a reason and the tools to become stronger how ever they see fit. some seek my title to grow stronger unsure of what they will do when they claim it some seek to make me fear them just to push away all their own fear, power is a funny thing it resides were people believe it does its a trick just a shadow on the wall" Micheal smiled calmly as he looked at the little mage he seemed calm yet he still held so much power in the air touching her yet his magic protected her

Ariano noticed that he seemed to ease off with the cold look, some of it was still there, but not all of it. It make her continue to doubt the rumors about him, at least to a certain degree. when he answered her question she just blinked at him. So then helped people find their own strength? She looked at him with some admiration, could he help her find her way? He knew Raven Tail was anything but kind, however, she was sick of being so weak. She wanted to bond with other people, and the way she was now wouldn't help her at all. She looked up at him, he was smiling at her. He was actually smiling, there was no way he was bad. Maybe he only acted violently to keep people away, maybe it was the power the drove him to madness. If that was the case, maybe, just maybe if she learned more about it should could find some sort of cure for it? She blinked, what was she even saying! She barely knew the guy, and she didn't for get what Raven Tail did to her, always bullying her and picking in her. Though, that was another reason that fueled her small body with the will to get stronger. She didn't want to get picked on anymore, she wanted to be seen as an equal, someone who didn't need protecting.
She sat up, her staff at her side, "I... I don't really care for your title... b.... but um.... um..." she stuttered. He was still male, even if he was an adult, men still were her weakness. She shivered, she needed to be strong and ask, just ask him! She took a breath "Couldyouhelpmegetstronger?!" she squeaked. She blushed, that wasn't how she wanted to word it. That was sort of embarrassing. She turned red, closing her eyes. She wanted strength, she wanted to know what it was like to be able to protect others, not be protected. She wanted people to see her, to accept her and realize she wasn't always helpless. If she didn't change soon, she didn't know if she could handle the stress of being a complete shadow. She just hoped this question didn't backfire....

Ray entered from a hallway that lead out of the guild hall. He rubbed his temples to get rid of a headache that honestly he was imagining. Sonata and Elly were in a certain position that affected their views on the people around them, he got that. What Ray didn't understand is why people would want to pay for food that Ray wanted to give them. He wouldn't accept payment regardless if they had it! He just enjoyed doing things for his guildmembers.
So when he walked in to find Michael, Raven Tail's guild master, talking to Ariano. He was surprised on so many levels, that he forgot about the headache entirely and tried to process just what it was he was witnessing. For one Ariano couldn't talk to the opposite gender. Ray wasn't even sure if she could talk to male animals without getting light-headed. The other thing was Michael. Why would Ariano talk to Michael of all people? Did she know what kind of title this guy wore? Ray watched for a moment, he didn't want to interrupt something he shouldn't. However thoughts flooded the back of his head in worry. If Michael advanced on Ariano to take her away to Raven Tail, that would be two guild members I could potentially lose to Raven Tail. I don't want to keep them all for myself, but Geno and Ariano have been with me the longest...I...like them. Ray stared for a moment longer at the two before walking closer, still confused. He grabbed a chair and turned the back of it to face the two as they talked, but he was within earshot as well as eyesight, he just didn't say anything. He was going to wait for them to notice him before he said something.
Ray only arrived to hear the last few words of Ariano. She could've asked anyone to get stronger. Why Michael? Was it because of Geno? Since when did she get so close to Geno? Why do these kids move so fast?! Ray tried to rationalize the situation at this point. Okay yes, he has babied Ariano perhaps a bit. Perhaps it was just because she was the first person he had ever encountered with such a shy personality. She was to the point of unhealthily shy. So when Michael appears, like Eve she fell to bite the apple. That is what worried him. Michael was a guild master of Raven Tail. Ray wasn't the man to stereo-type so easily but the man clearly has conflicting ideals if he thinks murder is an okay thing to get paid for. Ray was not okay with that. So what kind of person would Michael hope to change Ariano into? What kind of person was he turning Geno into? These unsettling questions sat in the back of Rays head as he patiently waited for a moment to ask. He didn't want to begin his "interrogation" just yet anyways.
Micheal looked upon the mage wit ha smile as he spoke. " You do know to gain strength your own guild would look at you like they do geno as an outcast if you wish to claim strength through me then i will be headed to my guild soon come along if you so wish." Micheal said so calmly and lightly he was happy to help another find power and maybe even come for his head Micheal smiled at the thought as he awaited the small mages answer Micheal smirked as he spotted ray looking nervous and as if he was a child listening in on mom and dads conversation about the childs punishment. " well ray how long are you going to sit there like you are asleep and pretending your not listening in, at least come here and join the adults." Micheal wasn't pulling his auras pressure back from ray but rays advanced rank would help him in feeling Micheal's aura was much different then it had been in past run ins almost as if something was wrong yet Micheal showed no outward signs of the problem as he looked between the small mage and ray

Ariano hadn't noticed Ray's presence when he walked in, all her attention was on Micheal. She was dying to hear what he had to say about her question. Could he possibly help her, or was he simply going to say that she would never be able to change. Part of her didn't want to hear his words, and another part of her wanted to. It was an internal struggle, and she didn't know if her heart could take the stress of it all. Besides, if he said he could make her strong, would she really leave the guild to do so? Would Ray be sad? Surely no one would care, let alone notice that she was missing. No one other than Geno and Ray knew she existed here anyways. When he finally answered she was surprised by what he had said. He stated that by gaining strength, her guild members would forsake her, reject her. She laughed a bit sadly "It wouldn't be much of a problem... no one but Ray knows I exist anyways..." she whispered, gripping her staff a bit more tightly. It was then that he stated that he would be going back, and that if she wanted him to make her stronger then she should follow him. She looked at him with her big and innocent eyes, the temptation was clearly there. Part of her wanted to abandon everything and follow this man for strength.
She opened her mouth, about to speak when Micheal mentioned for Ray to come out of hiding. She blushed, immediately standing up as she noticed that Ray was indeed her. She gulped, backing up a bit surprised. She hadn't meant for Ray to know that she had ever talked with Micheal, she never intended to say anything about this conversation. Too late for that now though. She noticed Ray was just sitting there, she wasn't speaking, or looking at her. His gaze rested on Micheal the whole time, he seemed pained about something. Was he trying to figure out what they were talking about? She sheepishly looked from one guild master to the other. The intensity of the two was a bit overwhelming, and Ariano eventually escaped the scene, "I... I'll go get some more tea" she squeaked, as she rushed off into the kitchen. She made some fresh tea and brought it out for the two currently having a sort of staring contest. She then placed a cup down for both Ray and Micheal. After that, she cleaned up the glass and tea she had spilled earlier. Once that was finished, she made sure to bandage up her cuts before returning back into the room.
The atmosphere was heavy, she didn't particularly know what to say. However she kept herself hidden well from the two "M... Master Micheal was asking a... about Geno... wanted to.... er... know if he was here..." she mumbled, fiddling a bit with her fingers. Why was talking so difficult? She sighed, this is exactly why she wanted to change, this was just plain embarrassing now. Her eyes wandered towards the floorboards weakly, not sure what to say or do at this point in time.

Ray sighed, Michael took a jab at him. Of course Michael took a jab at him. Ray wanted to not make this a "whose got the biggest d**k contest" but Michael's aura begged to differ. Ray nodded to Ariano when she mentioned making tea. "Thank you Ariano, it is much appreciated." He said as she returned, he smelled the aroma seeping off the top of it, and took a small sip before placing the cup on the table behind him. He finally looked up at Michael and rubbed the stubble on his chin.
"A child would've interrupted way earlier no? It was the adult thing to wait to explain my disapproval to Ariano privately after your conversation was over. However Michael has been so kind as to present me a chance to retort, and I shall seize this generous opportunity." Ray tried to butter his words as much as possible because he wanted these two comfortable before he began to speak. His attention turned from between the two, directly to Ariano. "Ariano, I want you to understand something. Regardless if you walk away from here, I want you to understand this one thing before you leave. You are always welcome here. We are your family, regardless if you notice it or not." Ray smiled, not sure of how he should react to her, and he felt like he was telling her the last words he would ever say. He felt already like he was saying goodbye. Perhaps he understood her situation all too well. His troubles mostly oozed from Michael. Whom Ray's attention now faced.
"Its been a while Michael. I wasn't here when you met Geno, but I was there for Geno's return. Truth is he didn't return. He, just as much as you tell Ariano, some how believes that he is forsaken. Now if I recall he only met two members. Ariano and Toshi. Ariano, as we both know, has her difficulties as much as the next person. Unfortunately Toshi is almost just the same. Geno hasn't been able to meet Valen, Sonata, or Elly. Sonata came to me with scars lining her arms. I'm not sure if they are of her own doing or someone else but it was clear she suffers from depression or some level of a messed up past. Elly wasn't all that different. She I think, sits on a throne of the most messed up past. Upon meeting her, she only spoke if I recall, three sentences total. She wears bandages across one of her eyes, and frankly I worry for her even now."
Ray took another drink of his tea, pausing for a moment to contemplate his next words. He looked up and smiled, as if he hid some kind of depression behind it. It was very bittersweet looking. His eyes rested on Ariano again as he said his next words. "I've collected an island of misfit toys it would seem." He looked back down at his tea and rubbed the side of the cup, thinking again. "But every one of them came to Lamia Scale to unlock their potential, they all know they have it, and yes I know a few of them have gotten off the path I have in store for them. I want to fix that. I want to help Geno back onto it. But I cannot lead my guild into the direction I want it to go, if another Guild Master is spreading himself into my plans." He looked up at Michael, his gaze becoming more determined. Somehow his words reignited some level of his goal for the guild.
"Michael you have your own guild to lead do you not? So when I ask my next question I want only one answer. I do not want quips at my earlier statements, and I do not want replies to whatever I have said towards, or hinting to my guild or its members." He faced Ariano for a second, then gazed back at Michael, "and as of this moment, that includes Ariano. So Michael, what're you planning?" Ray did not desire a fight, and he was sure Michael came here anticipating one. So he prepared himself for the worst. His foot tapped uncontrollably as he eagerly awaited Michael's unavoidable and sarcastic response.

Elly popped back in through the Lamia Scale Hall's doors back from reaping the rewards of her recent mission. She'd completed two jobs at once, one accidentally, though her only reward for it had been free hot dogs. The petitioner for that job had also given her a new name since he hadn't known her true one, 'The Black Doll Woman'. Elly didn't care much about it but it felt odd to have him call her that once more once she'd found her way back to his stall to turn in her hot dog voucher. Somehow seeing the vendor's boy smiling with his dog felt more valuable than the cash reward she'd gotten for her repairs to the man's house....maybe this is what her grandpa meant by happiness being fulfilling....maybe.
She returned to lamia scale clutching a hot dog in her hand, the spoils of her employment. She glanced around the room with her grey, empty eye and spotted a girl staring intently at her feet while Ray and some man were talking around her. Elly made her way over out of mild curiosity, curiosity at what the girl was staring at down there. Elly got there and stood a couple feet from her, staring at the spot she was staring at on the ground. She took a bite of her hot dog, looking un-satisfied with it. She then bent down and reached her free hand out to the ground, scratching at the ground where Ariano was staring to try and figure out what it was that she was so transfixed by. Finding nothing she stood up straight once more and went to take another bite of her meal before stopping, setting ablaze in black fire, and proceeding to take a bite after it had been well charred. She was still staring at the floor below Ariano, trying to figure out what had her so interested.
Micheal looked at ray his eyes no longer caring they were simple hollow orbs in his head as he released his aura even allowing it to effect Ariano and elly. Micheal paid the guild little mind as he slowly exited just as he came his aura fading as he left

➟ After a minute or so passes, Toshi enters the guild hall. It seemed as though he were looking for something. You could tell because his head moved from left to right. Mysterious, you could never tell what was on the teen's mind, usually. Anyone that had felt Michael's aura in the time that had passed would know that Toshi were like a moth to that of a burning flame. It was no coincidence that Toshi would just appear in the guild hall so randomly. Then again, lots of the members of Lamia Scale, including Toshi, were new and adjusting. This feeling... It was him... He was here...but why? What purpose does he have for coming here? The dark and ominous aura emitted by Michael was indeed Toshi's reason for showing up, but as always in Toshi's case, why should someone like him that cared so little about his surroundings care? His attention was focused on the door Michael left from. It must be true, the one and only 'Demon King' has made an appearance at the doorstep of Lamia Scale. Fascinating... With his eyes resting on nothing but the door he hardly noticed Ray, and to a lesser extent, Elly and Ariano. Concerned with the structure of the building itself, his head rotated from left to right. Everything had to be examined. The walls, the ceiling, and even the floor. Nothing was off-limits in this case. It turns out that Toshi was worried that Michael's showing up meant the destruction of guild property. Not wanting that, he wanted to make sure that he were here to either help repel Michael, or assist in rebuilding. "It seems we were more fortunate then Fairy Tail. The last guild he showed up in had their wall destroyed." Once Toshi saw everything was unharmed he gave his search a rest. Now there was no need for him to do anything. Finally he could go back to relaxing before he took another job. As he was about to go he stopped. It was the hunger for information that made Toshi want to ask more about Michael. He knew that Ray were around, he was still aware of everything around him. It was just that at that time, Toshi was more into making sure everything was alright then approaching the guild master. "I didn't miss anything, did I?" The question wasn't directed towards anyone specifically, but anyone within vicinity.

➟ Looking down at his small wrist watch, he saw what time it was. It wouldn't do him any good to stay cooped up in the guild for too long. Now that he had a permanent workplace he would need to stay close. He couldn't just up and leave like he use to after running from home. Keeping that in mind, Toshi left the guild hall.

Ariano fiddled her thumbs, her eyes never leaving the ground. She didn't really know what to say, it was already so awkward for her. She knew she was in some sort of trouble, she really had hoped that Ray wouldn't find out about this conversation. Now that he knew she probably wasn't going to get off all that easy with him. She didn't really know how to express her reasons for even asking Raven Tails guildmaster to make her stronger. A dark guildmaster at that. She munched the inside of her gums softly, she just kept feeling more and more uncomfortable by the second. She heard Ray thank her for the tea, but her only response was a simple nod of the head. She stood to the side, never missing a note of his voice. She bit the bottom of her lip, her eyes widening at what he had stated. It was already a given that Ray would disapprove of this conversation, especially since it was Michael. Maybe they should have had this conversation in a more private location, somewhere no one would have been able to over hear. However, it was then that Ray turned all his attention towards her. She froze, her muscles tensing as he spoke to her. She didn't really know what to expect, but she thought he would scold her for even thinking about going with him. She remained silent, closing her eyes as Ray began to speak. He stated that he wanted her to understand something, that he understood she would leave at one point. She was surprised, she never actually thought that Ray would actually let her go. It was then that he stated she was always welcome, and that they were family whether or not she believed it or not. Truth be told, apart of it made her depressed. She understood his reasons and logic, but at the same time she was hoping that at least Ray would want her around no matter what. The fact that he admitted it, apart of her felt that Ray didn't really need her around. Her presence was not necessary for him, and for that reason alone she felt like she was drowning deeper and deeper into darkness. She wanted someone to NEED her. Someone that couldn't live without her, and someone she couldn't live without. She knew it was a selfish wish, but she couldn't deny this one desire she had. It was the only thing that she wanted, nothing else mattered, besides she was always invisible.
It was then that Ray went back to talking to Micheal. They conversation shifted from her, to Geno. It seemed that he never came back. Her mind went back to the boy that had suddenly lifted her up over his shoulders a while back. Micheal had asked her where he had gone after all. He then went on to talk about the new members, however, Ray knew so much more than she did. She felt even more down, she was apart of this guild too how could no one even notice she was here? She could feel his gaze on her again, as he spoke more. It was then that Ray asked Micheal what he was planning. She wanted to speak up, but the words didn't form. Her eyes moved momentarily towards Micheal, but he simply turned not answering Ray. The pressure she felt earlier returned, and she gasped, falling to her knees. It was painful, even for her.
Once he was gone, the pressure lifted, and she stood a bit shakily. Her eyes moved towards the floor, she didn't dare look at Ray. However, it was then that another person stood next to her. She jumped and looked over to see a new comer looking at the same spot she was. Did she think that Ariano was looking at something interesting? She blushed embarrassed, "um... sorry there's nothing interesting down there I was just um... spacing out" she whispered to the girl. It was then that another voice popped up, it was familiar. She turned and noticed another new comer from before, Toshi was his name right? She blushed hiding behind Elly unconsciously, peeking out at him. She really needed to get over her boy issue. When he asked what he missed, Ariano opened her mouth to speak. She struggled to speak, and closed her eyes. It was clear the guy didn't even notice her, why should she even try? No one here noticed. She opened her mouth to speak, but by the time she managed to actually find the courage, he left.
She looked downwards, sadness in her eyes. It was always like this, and she hated it. The more she thought about it, the more she knew she was different. She didn't have any qualities that stood out, nothing she could actually contribute to the guild. So worthless she was. These thoughts plagued her mind, more than usual. She sighed, what was the point? Not like anyone would miss a nobody like her anyways, maybe she should take Micheal's offer. She remained silent, she didn't really even bother to speak to Ray either, she didn't have it in her to.

Ray took a deep breath. His hand reached up to his temples and a voice in the back of his head kept him cool. It was Miaki, or at least he imagined it to be. Keep it cool Ray. She is just a little misguided. You've still got this, just cool down, take a drink. Ray nodded reluctantly and sighed. Silently thanking Miaki for her words he turned to Ariano who had fallen to her knees. He watched her interact and become more depressed when Toshi left because he was a busy man. His eye brow arched, does she take his leave personally? Has she not considered that in fact he has better things to do? A job perhaps? I wonder what Toshi is up to these days. Ray took a sip of his tea once more before setting it gently back down onto the table towards his knees.
"Ariano take a deep breath." Ray said suddenly, piercing the silence. She was having what he presumed to be an anxiety attack. She wasn't in any level of trouble, shes allowed to look out for herself. Ray was just disappointed that she hadn't reached out to him first. Thats what he was here for after all. "Its gonna be okay." Ray smiled and stood up, extending a hand to Ariano. "Can we go for a walk? I think there is some air we need to clear between the two of us. Elly you are of course invited to join us. Nothing you aren't allowed to know about." Ray took a sudden breath and his finger raised to his lip, "right Ariano? Unless you desire closed doors around me and you."

Elly watched with a sick feeling as the other man left, unshaken by his attempt to be threatening or frightening or whatever he was doing, Elly wasn't particularly sure. as the pressure subsided she finished off the food she was holding and watched as Ariano explained that she hadn't been looking at anything. Ariano looked at the boy across the room and then began to stare at the ground again....the face she made then....Elly could feel herself start to cry. She reached up and felt the tears on her cheeks, she had gone deaf to whatever Ray was saying now. She looked at the tears on her fingers, why was she crying? She looked at Ariano again and knew the answer, she knew that face. That face was hopelessness. That face was Worthlessness. Elly tried not to think about it, tried desperately not to think about it, if she thought about it she might remember....if she remembered she might lose her mind. "I'm not allowed to be happy..." The thought came to her unbidden, that phrase had been in her head since she woke up, she didn't understand what it meant. She wondered for a moment what baring that phrase had here, why did she think of it now? She looked at ariano again.
Before Elly knew what she was doing she was walking forward, she forcefully shoved Ray back from Ariano and stood in front of her, eye full of tears as it stared up at her. Then, without any warning Elly slapped the girl across the face, the guild stamp on her left hand racing through the air and colliding with the younger girl's cheek letting out a sickening crack that hung in the air for a moment. Elly then reached up suddenly with both hands and pulled the young girl's head down and cradling it against her chest, one arm hugging her while the other stroked her head. Elly stood there silent for a moment, baffled by her own actions, she didn't understand why she'd done all that, she couldn't comprehend it. She felt like she should say something but had no idea what to say. She moved her mouth wordlessly for a moment, trying to decide on something, anything and eventually she heard herself say, "Thoughts like that.........will kill you.....don't let them" Her voice was the same as ever but her tears were still running down to the floor and she couldn't know why.

Her ears perked up at the sound of Ray's voice, and she jumped a bit as he told her to take a deep breath. She knew that he was upset with her, more so because she hadn't gone to him first. She did feel bad, but at the same time she didn't want to worry him. She just nodded, her eyes still avoiding his. It took her a while to actually see the hand he had extended towards her. She looked up at it, and then heard him ask if they could go for a walk. She shuffled her feet more, and nodded she couldn't exactly say no. She took his hand softly, and she shook her head. She didn't mind, besides the girl probably wouldn't even remember her anyways.
However, when she looked up the girl was crying... wait why was she crying? Ariana looked at her alarmed, as she shoved Ray away from her and stood in front of her. Her hand slipped out of Rays, and she shrunk back as the girl then proceeded to slap her across the face. It hurt, it wasn't a light slap either. Tears prickled her eyes, never had she been hit like that before. Did this guy hate her? Maybe she didn't like how she had hurt Ray, maybe it was a message that she wasn't welcome. Tears slipped down her cheeks now, her hand delicately resting on her now red cheek. What was even weirder was that she then went and hugged her as if cradling a child. She winced, her stingy cheek in pain. What was going through this girls head. It was then she started to speak, and the words she spoke surprised her. It was as if the girl knew exactly what she was thinking about. It was weird, but at the same time she didn't know how exactly to feel about it. She didn't like being slapped, but did she slap her because she was thinking that she was useless? She didn't know, she was just really confused right now.
