 Colin was outside collecting samples of vegetation for research purposes. He wanted to learn about some of the plant life in the area to see what properties they have and see if they could be used for something other than looking pretty and providing oxygen. Perhaps some in the area could be used for medical or other chemical purposes. It would be interesting regardless. He could also test his new equipment to see how well it works.

 Upset that the winter months had come and gone so soon, Setala began to try and find other hobbies to catch her interest until winter returned. She had tried painting - she was no artist. Singing - her voice was that of a frogs. Telling jokes - her humor was bad. The list went on and on. Each thing ending due to failure or her simply not liking the hobby or losing interest after a time. She sighed as she worked on her newest hobby - gardening. Out of all her seeds only a select few had begun to grow. She sat out by her seedlings and talked to them. "You gotta grow big and strong..."

Colin wandered about the area some more, trying to find as many different specimens as possible. The blessed pockettu had collected a few that looked promising. He came across a plot that had a few plants that appeared to have recently started growing. There was another pockettu there who was talking to the plants. "Are these plants sentient and does talking to them help?" He asked the other pockettu, leaning down to look at the plantings closer, trying to see if he could determine anything about the plants by observation.

Setala jumped at the sudden voice of another. Turning to see what spooked her she stared up at the Blessed General with awe. Never before had she seen one, let alone up close. When she realized she was staring she blushed and looked away, concentrating on her sunflowers. "Well... No... they're not sentient. At least not how we are." Running her fingers along the dirt she smiled. "Its an old wives tale that if you talk to them, it helps them grow healthier." Whether that was true or not, she didn't know.

Colin didn't mean to startle the other pockettu and he wasn't expecting her to stare at him before speaking. He was a little uncomfortable, but then relaxed some when the girl started talking. "Oh. I was hoping they were. It would have been an interesting study if they were." He tilted his head a little, looking at the sunflowers. "I wonder if that is true. Have you observed any changes between the ones that you have talked to versus the ones you have not spoken to?" The blessed general was curious if plants did grow better when spoken to or not. It could lead to some unique experiments.

vampire werewolf fangirl2 "Well... I only learned about it recently. And I've only spoken to these ones here." Setala admitted. "The ones over there..? They withered and died... No matter what I did." It upset her that she had such a brown thumb at times. All she wanted was a little something she could enjoy. A new hobby. Gardening was turning out to be a painstakingly heartbreaking experience.

"Interesting. How long have you been talking to these?" Colin asked, gesturing to the ones that are still alive. "Perhaps that is why they are still alive." He looked over at the dead plants. "How did those die?" He was curious if there was some effect of the soil or if it was something the fae did. The general hoped it was something to do with where they were planted and not what the other did. Trying to figure out what was in the soil that caused them to die could yield some neat results.
