..::Battle System::.. Our system works on a simple rule:
1 action, 1 reaction posts.
This means that during battle, your character is allowed 1 action, such as an attack, using an item, ect, and then one reaction to your opponent's previous post, per post. Obviously the very first poster that initiates the battle will not have a reaction, as they are the starter for the fight, however, the opponent then gets to react to the attack by trying to block, dodge, or what have you, and then they are allowed their attack.
While using this system, it is crucial that we keep in mind that the attacker is NOT ALLOWED to determine if the attack hits or not. Much in the way that someone is not allowed to kill off another player's character without their say, it is not allowed to say that an attack hits someone without first giving them a chance to defend against it. And example would be something to this:
Markov charged forward, whipping his hand around, his demon threads slashing at Kiara's abdomen from left to right.
If you notice from the above, the attacker, in this case Markov, dictated where his attack was aimed to land, and from what direction the attack came from. It gives approximate height as well. This leaves the other open to several options, depending on what they currently have on them or what they are able to do. We continue:
Seeing the charge, Kiara readied herself, her right foot sliding back as she shifted her body slightly, angling herself to Markov. When his attack came, she spun to the right, stepping back onto her trail foot as she did so, feeling the wicked threads grazing along her left side and back as she did so, but avoiding most of the damage.
We shall pause here. As you can see, this is a reaction post. Yes, it sounds as if we go back a second or two in time to where he first launched his attack by moving, which is quite alright. Doing something to ready your character for a battle is very much acceptable. Her reaction, rather than blocking, was to spin the in the same basic way that the threads were coming at her, there fore forcing the original length that they had to be expended and lessening the strike by moving out of the majority of the way. However, a simple move such as this would still yield damage done, unless of course it was a very short weapon.
We shall continue:
Growling in pain as she faced Markov once more, the female's hand burst into flame, the fire flickering up between her fingers as she drew her hand back, launching a fire ball at the insolent male's face.
And that would be her action. Again it tells what the attack was, and where it was aimed at. It also continues to further explain what the attack might have done to her, i.e. causing pain, ect. From here, Markov would go into his reaction phase, before continuing on to his action phase.
Using items out of your inventory also falls into either category, depending on what the item could be used for. Please remember though, items that your character can carry on their person are the only ones that they would be able to use in battle, obviously they cannot put a ship in their pocket to sail away in the middle of a fight, but things such as magically enhanced cards, trinkets, ect, as well as medicinal items, are very much able to be used. Be aware though, if you do decide to use a recovery sort of item rather than attack, you need to make it known in your post that your character takes some sort of cover or the like which would give your character time to react to the opponent's next post, since they would have to move ground to get to you, and you would not be left completely helpless. I honestly would not advise standing in front of someone that just cut you with a sword, and pulling out a potion. Unless it's for comedy's sake. xp

..::Stat System::..
Each character has a certain set of statistics that are used to depict how strong that character is. In our guild, we have a total of 7:
Strength - Your character's physical strength. Defense - This applies to your character's physical defense. Speed - This applies to a character's movement speed and attack speed. Endurance - How long a user can fight in a battle. Magic Power - Magical Attack and Defense.
Resistance - Your character's Defenses against certain elements and attack types. Mana Points - Your character's Magic reserves, which dictates how many spells they can cast out of the ones you have.
Now, how do these all tie in, you may ask. Simple. These are here to show the strength difference in character battles, and to make battles go a bit smoother and maybe even make them a bit more fun. This will also give players a chance to customize your character's abilties. Do you want them to be a tank with super high defenses? Do you want them to have a devastating attacking power? Are they lightning quick and prefer to overwhelm their opponent with their speed and quick movements? Or are they more of a balanced, all around person?

..::Increasing Stats::..
In order to increase these stats, you must gain stat points by roleplaying in RP areas. You are able to increase 5 out of the 7 stats this way (Excluding Mana and Resistance).
If you win a battle, or complete a mission, then you must go to the Stat Increase thread, where you will roll a die and multiply by 4. That will be the amount of stat points that you now have to divide amongst your five stats.
If you lose a battle or fail a mission, then you get a set number of 4 stat points, because even when we fail at what we set out to do, we still learn something of value.
Additionally you cannot increase the Mana and Resistance stats like normal Mana of course scales with your total stat points gained, ever. Resistance however can only be increased from armor or other magical items to increase it.

::Obtaining Stat Points::
Our system for acquiring stat points and other kinds of points is also upon a simple rule:
For every 50 words, a stat point is earned. Each stat point is verified through update to be considered valid. For every 200 words, a new spell slot is acquired as each person starts out with 5 spell slots and builds up from that point.

: biggrin etermining Mana::
When one begins their wizard adventure, they are given 30 stat points to start with. That max number, 30, is the base number you need for determining your mana.
The system is as follows:
(Total Stat Points) x 25 = (Total Mana)
That's it!
