Aristeia: I completely agree with you...

A lot of people that quit DO come back. And it would be a real kick in the face if an item was worth 100k when you sold it, come back, and it's worht 500k. Any normal person would want to make a profit.
I agree on a part of that.

  • if one Quits, then its permanent.
  • if one takes a break then they come back ^_^

it sucks if the item you sold is worth way more then you sold it for but many people who leave don't know for sure if they'll come back so its better that they keep their items in the gaia economie.

suckage if they do decide to come back, good for other if they don't

Well, when some people quit they think they will quit for good.

I quit once, and I didn't think I'd ever come back. But then I stumbled upon this site and it was a great relief my items were still there! When I had joined I baught a demonic guitar for 5k, then when I "re-joined" I sold it for about 15k. That was a big profit for me at the time.

So yeah, one can never actually know if they are quitting for good or not.

I think it's best just to be safe...

you took a break while planning to quit ^_^

you didn't quit since you returned. its good to have some items to make profit on but it would be better fighting against the inflation if your items were still in the economie. you are just one person on the 3mill+ users but there are to many people who take breaks with items of value on them.

if all users whoe take breaks/quit kick their items in the economie first then the prices won't go up much since there are to many items of that kind going around gaia.

ofcourse its also bad that the "richer" gaians keep about 200 letters of any month in the inventory so the price can go up and they can become richer when they decide the price is right to sell some of their letters

I did so quit.
I had planned never, ever to come back.
I thought this site was stupid and I never wanted to see it again.
But, after about 3 months I saw a link to this site somewhere so I came back.
I technically DID quit. I wasn't just going to take a "long" break or anything...

Yes, inflation is annoying...and maybe the prices would be lower if people sold their items and blah blah blah...but let's face it! It's uncontrolable. There is absolutely no logical way to prevent any of that from happening.

we can keep discusting if you did quit or only took a long break but in the end we both keep disagreeing with each other.

quiting = never coming back to it.
taking a break = returning even if you didn't plan on it.

think about it. if you quit work then you stop doing it. if you take a break then you return to it even if it takes a long time.
if you plan on never returning to work but you do then you took a long unexpected break.

now, I shall say no more about it since I'm hungry and its off topic.

its impossible to fight inflation indeed, all we can do is try to keep the inflation from going to fast

stare yeah, whatever.
I've quit my job before.
Then a few months later I was out job hunting and ended up getting the exact same job.
I still consider that quitting.

I quit. End of story.
I don't even see what the big deal is... x_x
