Story

Adriel and Marcus never got along. Adriel was the weird little gay kid while Marcus was the one guy that everyone wanted to be or to be with. Over the years, due to various things in their history, the two have fought repeatedly.
But during the summer of that year, Marcus and Adriel were in for an unpleasant surprise. Their families would be sharing a house in England for six weeks and to make matters worse, they would be staying in the same room.
Six weeks to to know eachother better. Or six weeks for any hope of them becoming close to crumble to dust..

My Name is: Adriel (Addie) Karrow
If you can't guess, I'm: 17
I guess I am: Kinda touchy about a lot of things. I do have a problem with my temper but that's only around....certain people. I will admit that I can be stubborn, snappish and rude but I also try to be kind, honest and genuine to people. I do hold grudges but I wish I didn't. I might look girly and a bit of a wimp but I pack a decent punch if you get on my nerves or insult my friends.
If you really must know: I moved from England aged five with most of my family to live here. I only met ____ in Middle-school but...well..we don't get along. Being short, girly, british and gay isn't easy in a town like this but I have a lot of friends and try to stay out of 'the line of fire'. Having spent a year coming home from school with various black eyes, cuts and injured limbs from bullies, I started attending self defence classes. That was a few years ago so I'm pretty good now.. I don't get in many fights at school but I never start them, I won't let people get treated badly in front of me. I know what it's like...
And it's just between you and me but: I'm 5"5. It's embarrassing - all of the girls I know are taller than me! I've got a deadly allergy to nuts and once I had a crush on...well...you know.. but then things happened..

Marcus James McClyde

"WHAT?!" Marcus said a bit loudly as he stood in front of his parents, his hand in the air as it to say 'are you serious'. "Now honey, Adriel's parents think it would be a good idea for you two to bond! You don't seem to like him very much..." His mother explained, trying to calm her son down and failing. "Thats because I don't. I cant stand him." He said in a softer tone now, crossing his arms over his chest before rolling his eyes and sighing. His mother sighed as well and gave a frown. Seeing this, his father stepped in. "Son, you are going on this vacation, you are going to have a good time and thats final." He said strictly as he looked at his son with a stern look. Marcus looked over at his father and sighed again. Rolling his eyes he uncrossed his arms and stormed off, a bit too pissed right now to even think of replying to that...

He slammed his door shut after entering his room and plopped down on his bed, staring up at the ceiling.
Great. I had to be stuck with him all year in school now I have to spend my summer with him...? He thought with a bit of anger and sighed again. As his fathers words ran in his head again, he realized maybe it wouldn't be all that bad. Maybe he could just ignore Adriel. That wouldn't work. They were going to be sharing a room... He sighed again before sitting up on his bed and looking around his messy room. "Better start packing..." He said as he stood up and walked to his closet. He was really not looking forward to this but knew once his father said something was final. It was... He wasn't going to fight it. Either way, he was determined to have a good time on this trip... Whether that meant convincing Adriel not to go or some other plan he could come up with...

(I'm sorry I took so long to reply >.< Hope this suffices as a good first post ^^ )

Adriel's feeling of dread had been spreading ever since he had been called into the kitchen by his parents. But now he knew that he was right to feel that way as he tried to absorb what his parents had just said. "Please tell me you aren't serious. I know that you guys and the McClydes are friends but isn't this just a little....excessive? You know that Marcus and I don't get along.." That was an understatement to say the least. The last time they 'talked', the younger teen had punched Marcus in the Jaw.
"Adriel, this will be a learning experience for you. Sometimes you need to learn to get along with people you don't like. And anyway, we would love it if you and Marcus could at least be civil. We could have a proper dinner and then-"
Adriel sighed. This conversion would go nowhere. He got his stubbornness from his mother and from the way she was ranting, there was no way she would cancel the arrangements. As a last resort, he looked over at his father. Mr Karrow was looking a bit amused and had gone back to reading the paper. Out of his two parents, it was Adriel's mother that called the shots in this house. His father was naturally passive and so let his crazy wife do what she wanted.

"I'm going to finish packing.. " he said to the room in general, before sprinting up the stairs and almost tripping over his cat, Catherine. Picking up the grey, fluffy feline and sat down on his bed. "You know Catherine, this is crazy." Catherine just butted her head against his chin, purring loudly. "I mean, why did they ever think that me and Marcus could ever get along. He is sooo annoying. Ugh. " With a loud meow, Catherine hopped off the bed and onto his suitcase. "Yeah, you're right. The should probably finish packing...Damn, I wonder how he'll cope with
my allergies...They're going to have all their food checked over and everything. "
These six weeks were going to be Hell.

((It's totally fine. I usually post half as much as I've done in this post))

Marcus James McClyde

The day after his parents had told him the big news, Marcus found himself sitting in the airport, waiting for the other family to arrive. He had his arms crossed over his chest and a bit of a bored yet pissed off look on his face. The last thing he wanted right now was to be here. Sure if they were getting on a plane without Adriel on it, then he'd be just fine. But no. He wasn't going to get that... He sighed softly as he looked around the crowded gate, seeing his father on the phone and his mother knitting something. And just then he saw a glimpse of how this vacation would go. Mom would knit and dad would work... Great.. At least he could go off on his own and see England. Of course that would probably mean bringing Adriel... Great... He thought, glancing around the room again and sighing...

(Oops >.< I didn't realize you had posted... -Facepalm- I'll be sure to check next time ^^
P.S. I hope you don't mind I kind of time skipped to where they're about to leave...

Adriel (Addie) Karrow

Walking around the airport in his parents' wake, Adriel scowled. He loved England, despite its bad weather and he was originally from there anyway. But that wasn't the issue. He would be spending his time there with Marcus of all people! "Why? There are other families we could have gone on holiday with. Including my actual friends but no. We have to go to England with my worst enemy.. " Scowling at the floor, he realized that his parents had picked up speed. He groaned. There they were. Walking as slowly as possible, Adriel padded over reluctantly and tried to stand behind his mother. This didn't work as she suddenly grabbed his arm with the force of someone twice her size and pulled him in front of her, almost breaking a few of his bones in the process.
Feeling the heat on his cheeks, Adriel rubbed his now aching arm and started determinedly at his own feet. Ugh. How embarrassing.
"Say hello " his parents prompted as they greeted Marcus' family.
Adriel muttered something that no one could hear and averted his eyes. He could hear his mother discussing 'medical things. '
"Nice going mum.. " he thought. His allergies were a touchy subject and although someone would have to explain all the sudden changes in the food served, he'd rather not be there when it happened.
Desperately hoping that Marcus hadn't heard anything that had been said, he grabbed his allergy-friendly chocolate from his bag and shoved some in his mouth to avoid speaking.
He missed Catherine. She'd be staying with his friend Elaina who loved his cat almost as much as he did. Taking his iPhone out from his back pocket, he reviewed all the texts that he'd been sent by his friends. He wouldn't be seeing them all summer. And instead would be spending it with Marcus.
"This is so messed up.. "

When he glanced over to the side, Marcus saw that his father was actually off the phone. That was strange. And his mother was no longer knitting. This cant be good. "Hi!" He heard his mother's cheery voice say as she stood and greeted the other family. Dammit... He thought and glanced over to see Adriel's mother and father. But where was Addie? Perhaps he'd stayed home after all. This thought made Marcus smile.

But when he saw Adriel's mother pull him up in front of her, He frowned. Though it was rather funny to watch... He laughed slightly as he saw the other fumble a bit then saw his mother turn back to him. "Marcus." She said in a polite yet still demanding tone. He gave a sigh and rolled his eyes before standing and walking over to them. He raised his hand somewhat and waved as he looked away and sighed.

And so it began. As he saw his mother and Adriel's mother beginning talking and their father's chat, he found himself stuck in the middle with Adriel. He wasn't really paying attention to what the mom's were talking about or really anything. He took his phone out of his pocket and answered a text then shoved it back in. He felt awkward just standing there and would prefer to just go sit back down but knew his mother would want him to talk to Adriel. When he heard the other speak he gave a soft laugh.
"Extremely." He said with another sigh then looked at the time. It felt like he'd been standing there for hours but it had only really been three minutes. Was this how the entire trip was going to be? The thought made him shiver.

Hoping his mother wouldn't notice, Marcus began slinking away to his seat where he would feel more comfortable. And would be away from Adriel. But as luck would have it, he heard his mother speak. "Honey, don't just leave your friend." She said in an all too cheery mood. Marcus sighed then turned to her.
"Mom, hes not my-" He began but was cut off by his father. "Son, listen to your mother. How bout you and Adriel go to the cafe over there or something?" His father suggested, earning a slight glare from his son... Marcus looked over at Adriel and sighed. "Come on." He said, turning around and heading to the small cafe just outside of the gate.

Although he wasn't happy about it, Adriel followed Mercury. By following him, the whole topic of allergies could be avoided. "This is going to be so awkward.. " Once reaching the cafe, Adriel shoved himself down into the nearest chair and scowled. They had a while to go before boarding the plane so this would be just great! Grabbing his iPhone, he decided to text his cousin, who he'd be meeting up with during his time in England. His cousins were nice but you needed to watch out where you stood with them, his male cousins were overly friendly and wild and his female cousins were downright scary. That'd be a great impression. "Not that I care about what he thinks.. " Adriel assured himself. Not paying Marcus any attention, he grabbed a book from his bag and rifled through it to find his place. He paused and looked up at Marcus. "Let's just try and get through this experience with a minimal amount of pain, yeah?"
