Mission Lavender Town Ghosts Created by: RhymeJW
In Lavender Town lies the Pokemon Tower, home to deceased Pokemon. Of course, people in the town believe in ghosts and believe that the Pokemon haven't properly been put to rest. So, a group of town residents have been going to Pokemon Tower and digging up Pokemon out of the grave, thinking that digging them up and putting them out in a field may help. Now, for some reason, the police hasn't reacted to this at all. Your job is to go and stop these residents. You'll battle 2-5 residents that have two Pokemon. Then you'll face the leader of the group who has four Pokemon.
Objectives: -Defeat 2-5 residents that have two Pokemon -Defeat the Leader who has four Pokemon (Make sure the Pokemon are according to your rank)
Pokemon: You may catch/snag ONE Ghost Pokemon according to your rank.
Rewards: One to three Snag Coins, rest based on story. James had always been a believer in reincarnation. And to be reincarnated, your body must of course be left alone. So when he heard that these misguided people actually had the nerve to go into Pokemon Tower to disturb the resting souls held within, he of course immediately headed over, with no small amount of anger. James arrived with Snivy and Corphish in tow. The Corphish had bonded quickly with the blue-haired trainer, but the newly snagged Snivy was not so easy to placate. Granted, it treated James with marginally less contempt than it had its previous trainer, (after all, James had completely annihilated said trainer in a battle), but the prideful little serpent was not going to let its respect be gained that easily. But after James had accepted this mission, he had stopped to play his hand-carved flute before leaving, in an attempt to calm himself. The little leaf serpent had stared, wide-eyed, as a haunting melody filled the room. As the last note faded from the air, James looked down at Snivy and reflexively reached out to pick his starter up. Realizing his mistake before his arm finished extending, James winced inwardly. But instead of recoiling away like it had the past five times, Snivy simply gave him a judging look and ran up his arm to perch on his shoulder. And so it was that James stepped foot into the tower with Snivy on his arm and Corphish in its pokeball. The air already seemed to pulse with the wrath of disturbed souls, and James shivered slightly beneath his jacket. He ascended the first two floors without incident, and then the thick, ubiquitous fog of the Pokemon Tower consumed him. Hardly able to see a few feet in front of him, he continued on towards the stairs to the fourth floor. He could hear digging upstairs, and so he sped up his pace. A spectral hand lashed out at him as he neared the stairs, and a silently cackling Sableye appeared. Snivy began to hiss and James placed a hand on its head, willing it to calm down. "My quarrel is not with you, lost one. I am here to stop those residents from further desecrating these graves."The Sableye cocked its head curiously at him, then kept going as its head rotated a full 180 degrees and came to a rest upside-down. It bared its sharp teeth and licked its own crystalline eye before fading away. James took a deep breath and ascended the stairs. A man and a woman were hard at work on the next floor. The man was digging away with a shovel and the woman was holding a large sack that bulged grotesquely. James knew exactly what was in the bag, though he showed no reaction. "You may want to stop that." He stated quietly. The two residents reacted quickly, instantly whirling around and whipping out pokeballs. "Interesting that they would so quickly respond with violence." James mused as a Poochyena and a Zubat appeared out of their pokeballs, the former growling and the latter flitting about nervously. Feeling Snivy's legs tense, James casually turned sideways to reveal the angry little serpent as he simultaneously released Corphish from its pokeball. Snivy launched itself at the Poochyena without a command from James, the leaves on its arms glowing and elongating as it prepared to use Leaf Blade. Caught off surprise, the Poochyena yelped in pain as it just barely ducked in time and lost the tip of an ear. Meanwhile, Corphish watched James curiously, awaiting a command. "Zubat, use bite!" called the female, her voice quavering slightly. "Look out, Corphish!" James said, raising his voice slightly. Corphish turned just in time to receive a chomp on its nose. It reeled slightly from the attack as Zubat whirled around for another pass. "Corphish, Crabhammer!"Corphish, frothing bubbles angrily from its mouth, raised its right claw as Zubat flew towards him, baring its surprisingly sharp teeth. Angling his body slightly so as to get more power, Corphish swung and sent the Zubat flying past its trainer, crashing into the wall with a sickening thump. Meanwhile, Snivy was exchanging blows with the Poochyena and quickly gaining the upper hand with its superior speed. Breathing heavily and bleeding profusely from several wounds, Poochyena's movements were slowing down. It gathered its remaining strength and made one last leap at Snivy, who prepared to receive the blow with yet another Leaf Blade. Noticing something out of the corner of its eye, James shouted "Snivy, Leaf Tornado!" Glancing back with a look of surprise, Snivy began to spin rapidly instead, kicking up a flurry of dust and leaves just in time to block an attack from the female trainer's newly released Woobat and KO the Poochyena. Growling with frustration, the male resident recalled his Poochyena and released a Zubat. Snivy and Corphish backed away from the two flying pokemon and stood back-to-back. "Woobat, Wing Attack!" "Zubat, Wing Attack!" The two bats spread their wings wide as they flew in circles around James's Pokemon, looking for an opportunity. "Corphish, Water Gun!"Corphish let loose with a powerful stream of water, aiming for the Woobat. The furry bat angled upwards over his head to dodge the attack, and quickly plummeted downwards. "Snivy, Tackle!"Snivy whirled around and threw itself at the Woobat, bringing it out of the air and crashing to the ground with it in a flurry of leaves and teeth. Corphish got no reprieve, however, as the Zubat saw its opportunity and zoomed in from behind, knocking Corphish over. As Corphish struggled to get up, Zubat ganged up on Snivy from behind, sinking its teeth into his tail. With a surprised squeak, Snviy threw itself into a Leaf Tornado once more, dislodging the two bats. As Corphish finally righted itself, Snivy got up, bruised and battered and very, very, angry. "Supersonic!" "Supersonic!" Came the commands. Opening their mouths, the two bats filled the room with a screeching sound that thoroughly disoriented Snivy and Corphish. They saw dozens and dozens of bats flying around them in circles. Corphish tried to hit one with a water gun but it flew completely off, dousing the pillar of candles in the middle of the room instead and plunging the room into darkness. The screeching sound lessened slightly as Zubat prepared to strike from the shadows and James and his pokemon fumbled about in the darkness. As Zubat knocked over the disoriented Corphish from what felt like every direction at once, James finally found what he was groping for. Pulling his flute out of his bag, he began to play a simple melody, all he could manage with the sonic waves messing with his senses. As the song pierced through the screeching and echoed around the room, A single candle lit itself in the middle of the room. Surprised, every being in the room glanced over at it, including James, who continued playing anyway. Momentarily blinded by the sudden light, Woobat and Zubat reeled and nearly crashed into the ground. Seizing their opportunity, Snivy and Corphish leaped forward with Leaf Blade and Crabhammer. They stuck two decisive blows on the bats as James finished his song. The male and female trainers could only gawk at James and his pokemon as he smirked slightly. "I think you should be leaving now." he said, stepping sideways as they fled towards the stairs. "Now why would a resident of Kanto have a Woobat?"Good job you guys."Corphish bobbed its claws happily as it went cross-eyed trying to see its nose wound. James couldn't help but chuckle at the clumsy little crayfish. Snivy simply dusted itself off with as much dignity as it could muster and walked over to James, limping slightly from its wounds, and gave him a "Now what would you expect from the likes of me" look. After returning the Pokemon remains to their graves and whispering a few respectful words, James healed Snivy with 1x Potion and continued on, opting to leave both Pokemon out of their pokeballs and at the ready. As he set foot on the stairs he heard a crashing sound and whipped around to find that Corphish had managed to knock over the pillar of candles and was clacking its claws nervously with a guilty look. Snivy rolled its eyes and continued up the stairs. Suddenly, a small gout of fire shot towards Corphish, who yelped in surprise. Thankfully, being a water type, the attack did little more than surprise him. Walking briskly over, James saw that one of the candles had seemingly grown eyes and a mouth that was pouting at the Corphish. "Hey there little Litwick. Was it you who helped me out back there?"Asked James softly, holding out his hands to show that he wasn't armed. The Litwick bobbed its body up and down in what could pass for a nod and gestured wildly at Corphish, still glaring. Despite the fact that he could probably crush the Litwick with very little effort, Corphish cowered behind James's leg. "He's a clumsy one sometimes, he's very sorry as you can see."Corphish poked its upper body out from his hiding place and bobbed its head, waving its claws in a "No please don't" gesture when Litwick made as though to attack again. "What would you say to joining us? You could help stop these gravediggers and other scum like them in the future."Asked James, still in that placating tone of voice. "Corphish Cor!" added the sorry little crayfish. The little Litwick seemed to consider the offer for a moment before nodding begrudgingly, giving a curious glance to the flute sticking out of James's bag. James reached for a pokeball and the Litwick shut its eyes, tensing its waxen body as it disappeared in a flash of light. Snivy poked its head out from the stairwell, making a strange squawking noise and gesturing at James to hurry up. He also gave the third pokeball now clipped to James's waist a curious look before hopping up the stairs once more. Coming up the stairs, the first thing James saw was a rather bemused-looking man, a fainted Rattata on the ground, and his Snivy gesturing angrily at the empty graves and hissing. "What a team. A Snivy and Litwick with attitudes and the clumsiest Corphish this side of Hoenn." thought James, glancing down at Corphish as it tripped and fell flat on its face. James snapped out of his thoughts as a flash of light materialized into a Spearow. "Snivy, you may want to sit this one out." cautioned James as the fierce-looking bird stretched its wings. Reaching down, James released Litwick from its pokeball. The little ghost gave James a look like "Already? Really?" but then it saw the upturned graves and the Spearow and instantly stood ready. Corphish surreptitiously edged sideways to hide behind James's leg once more as the candle and the bird stared each other down. The Spearow made the first move. "Spearow, sand attack!" commanded the man. Spearow flapped its wings towards Litwick, kicking up some sand in the hopes of blinding Litwick. "Litwick, Ember!" said James, as the Litwick simply moved its face to the back of its body and then turned around, grinning cheekily. A burst of fire flew forth from the flame on top of Litwick's body and connected with Spearow's right wing as the bird squawked in pain. "Spearow, tackle!" The spearow hopped clumsily towards Litwick and hurled its feathered body at Litwick, who simply turned transparent for a moment and giggled silently as Spearow hit the floor. "Peck!" Spearow righted itself surprisingly quickly and went for Litwick with its beak. Caught by surprise this time, Litwick was bashed sideways by the bird's heavy beak. 'Litwick, Confuse Ray!"Litwick summoned a ghostly light from its body that encircled the Spearow, who couldn't seem to take its eyes off it. The Spearow's trainer facepalmed visibly as Spearow simply fell over, too dizzy to fight. "Go, Darumaka and Cacnea!" The leader of what was looking less and less like a group of angry residents said. "Now that's hardly fair play now is it." muttered James as he nudged an unwilling Corphish forward. "Darumaka, Fire punch! Cacnea, Giga Drain!" barked the leader. The duo charged at Corphish, who covered his face and whimpered slightly. When no impact came, however, Corphish lowered one claw and peeked out. Litwick had intercepted the two attacks, its Flash Fire ability strengthening itself and absorbing Darumaka's attack while Cacnea's arm connected and it promptly drew back, yelping in pain. "Corphish, use Water Gun!" ordered James as the leader cursed profusely and Litwick stared him down, blazing with a fiery aura. Mustering forth the courage to attack, Corphish hit Darumaka with a powerful stream of water, causing a hissing sound and steam to rise as the attack cooled Darumaka's super-heated body. Encouraged by its master's profanity, Cacnea went for a Sucker Punch on Corphish, digging its spikes into the soft flesh between Corphish's plated shell. Corphish lashed out at the Cacnea with a claw, trying desperately to dislodge the cactus that had successfully gotten itself stuck. Litwick finished off Darumaka with a Night Shade and turned to see Cacnea going for Corphish's eye with its other arm. Thinking quickly once again, Litwick went for a Will o' the Wisp on Cacnea, causing it to flinch as a magical flame started to slowly consume its body. The leader had little choice but to call Cacnea back and admit defeat. "I won't forget this." He muttered angrily as he pushed past James and made for the stairs, flinching as Snivy hissed at him. "Good." responded James mildly, returning his pokemon to their pokeballs. He went to work returning the pokemon remains to their resting places, and then headed briskly down the stairs. It was time to head back.

Mission The Innocence Project Created by: Trigramatic
Sometimes, the law isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Well, scratch that. Most of the time, the law isn't all it's cracked up to be. Poor Brown Llewen can attest to that. He attests to it daily behind the bars of a small Cianwood jail cell. It's a jail cell that isn't even his, yet it's his to stay in for five years, courtesy of the Police. And Team Rocket. All his cellmates know poor Brown' predicament, and they too feel he's got all the guile of a lamb. They know Brown could never work for a group like Rocket. Yet the Police thought his concern for a true Rocket, tied up by Blizzard, was enough to convict him as they did the other Rocket.
We, as Snagems are soldiers of fortune. We have no real allegiances but to ourselves. Simply put, our enemy is the constant injustice that exists each day. We love nothing more than to see it struggle. Even more, we love it when there's nothing to struggle.
So someone needs to go and infiltrate the place and spring the guy out. Of course it won't be easy. And I'm afraid it'll be even un-easier. You need to keep your identity and anything that could tie you to Snagem hidden. This mission will rely on your abilities to:
a) Keep yourself hidden from wardens, inmates and cameras alike
b) Use your Pokemon in tandem with your own movements to make it seem as if wild Pokemon have stormed the place. Maybe for food. This can be any reason
c) Escape with the prisoner and flee from Cianwood while keeping both of you out of the slammer.
After you take Brown back to his own residence, there's a great chance he'll want to repay you. You can either accept what he has to offer or if you prefer, you'll be rewarded by me with a rank-up if the mission is good enough for the merit.
Objective: Rescue Brown from the (in)justice system and excape.
Pokemon: Use only ones that fall into these categories: Can aid in stealth, or can cause a ruckus to draw attention away from the inmates.
Opposition: If all goes well, there will be none. If you need to fight, make it quick. Jailers don't carry too many Pokemon at a time.
Rewards: Three to five Snag Coins, varies from there. James skidded across the cliff on his hoverboard, coming to an awkward stop and just barely catching the board before it fell into the ocean. He still wasn't quite used to navigating with the standard-issue board he'd been given. Picking it up, he checked his belt. His flute was of course there, as were two pokeballs: Litwick's and Snivy's. He had opted to leave Corphish back at base for fear the klutz of a crayfish would get detected. He quietly lowered himself down a ledge, landing gracefully and in stark contrast to his hoverboard landing. Glancing about to make sure he had not been detected, he continued downward until he reached the roof of the jail building. From there, he carefully navigated to where there was no window, and dropped to the ground. This was where things got tricky. Crouching and slowly walking around the edges of the building, he located a window with bars over it. Then, he unstrapped his flute and played a soft note, making sure that only those in the cell would be able to hear it. He heard some shuffling around inside, then footsteps. A rough voice muttered something and another laughed. Slowly standing up, James glanced in the window to see a middle-aged man with brown hair and horn-rimmed glasses staring out wistfully at the ocean. The man's eyes widened slightly as he saw James, and he made as if to say something. Gesturing at the man to stay silent, James mouthed "Brown Llewen?" The man adjusted his spectacles and nodded slightly. Whispering now, James replied "I thought so. None of those Rocket roughnecks would show any response to the sound of music. Sit tight and pretend you never saw me. I'm going to get you out."Tearing up slightly, Brown mouthed "Thank you" and slumped down, making a slight scraping sound against the wall. Carefully shielding the flashes of light with his body, James released his pokemon from their pokeballs. He leaned in close and began to formulate a plan. Cupping Litwick in his hands, he raised her to the window. With a cheeky wink, she dimmed her flame, turned her body transparent, and dropped down into the jail cell. With any luck, nobody would notice a small floating flame. Meanwhile, Snivy and James snuck around to the front entrance of the jail. As they neared the door, James stood up straight and walked casually, hiding Snivy with his body. He bent to "tie his shoe" as Snivy scurried into the front room of the jail. As he stood up and strolled around to the back entrance, he heard Snivy start to bawl and scratch at the door that separated the visitor's lobby and the main jail area. What a natural actor. thought James, shaking his head slightly and grinning. The back entrance was locked, of course. He waited a few moments as he heard footsteps and the creaking of a door opening, and then: "Hey! Richard! There's a lost little Snivy over here! Awwwww... Aren't you a cute little one..." A few moments later another voice called out in response: "The others are on lunch break, you want me to leave these prisoners unguarded? You stupid?" "Aw lighten up Richard, look at this poor little guy, probably can't find his mommy." "What's a Snivy doing all the way over here anyway? Don't you think this is a little suspicious?" The second voice grew louder and then quieter again as he walked past the back entrance to where the first guard was. "Geez man, why you gotta read a jailbreak into everything?" "You can't be too careful around here alright Smith? Hey, he is pretty cute though." James heard a hissing sound as one of the guards tried to pick Snivy up. Then: "AAAH MY EYE! WHY YOU LITTLE" from Smith as Richard burst into laughter." He heard crashing and more hissing as Smith chased Snivy around the front room, knocking over furniture and crashing into things as he tried to navigate with no depth perception. "Well, not exactly sticking to the bloody plan but I guess that's one way to do it." muttered James as he took advantage of the chaos to kick the door down. He jumped slightly as he was greeted by his Litwick using Night Shade on a security camera. Anyone looking through the footage would only see a black background and a ghostly visage cackling. He poked around a bit as Snivy led the two guards outside, and soon found two extra sets of keys hanging on the wall in the break room. Sprinting back to Brown's cell, he quickly unlocked it and led the tearful man out. Yep, definitely harmless. I don't see how anyone could even consider arresting this guy. thought James to himself as he closed the door. A booted foot stopped him though, as a rough-looking man wedged the door open. "Oi kid, let us out too." He growled. The other inmates chorused their approval, though none of them bothered even getting up. The leader of the group started to throw his weight against the door. Realizing that there was no way he could hold the door in a match of sheer force, James suddenly let go of it and the inmate sent himself flying out into the hallway. As the other inmates started to get up, James stopped the leader's trajectory with a foot to the groin. As he doubled over in pain, James rapped him sharply on the head with his flute and then forcefully thwacked his nose with a palm. As blood began to pour, James shoved the inmate back into the cell and quickly locked the door. One or two of the inmates actually started laughing and clapping as the leader squeezed his nose, trying to stop the flow of blood. "What's going to stop me from telling them what you look like?" threatened the leader in a comically nasal tone. "Hey, if you want to tell the guards a skinny blue-haired kid with glasses kicked your a**, go right ahead. Retorted James as the other inmates roared with laughter. With a grin and a two-fingered salute, he hopped on his hoverboard, grabbed Brown, and rocketed out the door, balanced precariously and nearly falling over a few times. He returned Litwick to her pokeball as he passed her and made sure to gain some altitude before he passed over Snivy and the guard. Seeing him overhead, Snivy leaped onto Smith's face as James returned him to his pokeball. In a blinding flash of light, they were gone. As they flew above the ocean, Brown began to blubber his thanks through a stream of tears. "Thank you so much I didn't want to rot in that cell I can't believe someone actually came to save me I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't cam-" James clapped one hand over the man's mouth and said, not unkindly, "Hey, just trying to make the world a better place. Now be quiet before I crash us both into the ocean. I'm terrible with this thing." He winked and indicated the board with a tilt of his head. They arrived back at Brown's house. At the sight of his home, he began crying happy tears again, motioning at James to come in. He went into the back room and returned with a large blue egg. "Please, I want you to take this. My son gave it to me a few months ago before he left to go to Hoenn. He's quite the trainer." said Jones, a hint of pride in his voice. As he pushed the egg towards James, he also clasped the young trainer's hand in a firm handshake that turned into a hug as his tears dried up. James simply smiled and put Brown's hand back over the egg. "You should keep it. Raise it as your own so you can defend yourself.""You...you really think I could? Me? Raise a pokemon?" "Why not, you did an excellent job raising a son, didn't you?"Brown nodded tentatively as he stared down at the egg. Making up his mind, he stood up straight with a new determination, seemingly growing several inches. "I will then. Thank you." Smiling warmly, James nodded and turned to leave. "And kid?" James turned back with a questioning glance. Brown made as though to say something, then changed his mind and closed his mouth. "Good luck." he simply stated, an unreadable look in his gray eyes. James nodded, walking out the door and out Brown's life. But not without changing it for the better, he hoped.

Mission Item Mission
Category: Pokeballs
Silph Co. Delivery
Pokeballs, a neccessity for all Pokemon Trainers, without these devices it would be impossible for trainers across the world to carry with them where ever they go their faithful companions. Sure, you could have them just follow you but do you really think it would be wise to have a Pokemon like Magmar follow you into a building, thus setting off the sprinklers? Didn't think so. Any who, the history of Pokeballs go back a long way, but that's not important right now, the future is now! The world's Pokeballs are largely supplied by their modern day inventor, Silph Co. It is this business that has invented the majorty of the Pokeballs we use to do, though some were invented in collaboration with a rival company in Hoenn, Devon Corp, but Silph Co. is in agreement with them to manufacture their Pokeballs too so it works out for everyone.
As you can imagine Silph Co. is always swamped with orders from Poke Marts around the world for Pokeballs and sometimes they find it difficult to meet the demands in a timely fashion. It is this very reason why Silph Co. is asking trainers from all over if they would like to help in performing deliveries for them, of course trainers who succeeded it making the deliveries are rewarded for their work. And that's where you come in! Go to the Silph Co. in Saffron City of the Kanto region, there sign up for one of their Pokeball deliveries. You will be given the choice the location of any Poke Mart or Department Store in the world to take the shipment to, the further you go the greater the reward of course. Shipments also vary in size, shipments to lone Poke Marts can sometimes be modest in size while shipments to Department Stores are always large, of course size also affects your rewards. Know this though, the Pokeballs are contained in a sealed metal crate which its lock is digital and protected by a Porygon programmed inside, making it near impossible for you to steal the contents, sorry to be of disappointment.
So, if you are looking to score some Pokeballs to replenish your stock this is the mission for you! Surely Silph Co. will reward you with some of their merchandise upon completion, cause what Pokemon Trainer doesn't like to get free Pokeballs, right?
Objective: ---Pick up a shipment of varying size from the Silph Co. building in Saffron City. You are then allow to choose a Poke Mart or Department Store to deliver it to, distance of delivery and size of shipment affect your rewards. Plus, don't try to steal the contents, it's protected.
Opposition: ---No real way of knowing. You may come across wild Pokemon depending on the path you take or perhaps some thugs looking to steal your shipment, speaking of which there is a known group that cuts off Silph Co.'s deliveries which prompted them to use the Porygon protection. This group is known as Team Bandito, which they look upon themselves as modern day Robin Hoods but in reality they are nothing but petty thieves. They are known for using Ground type Pokemon along with cactus Pokemon, furthermore they are largely a male group. ---All opposition various on what you decide to come across, but know this, something -will- get in your way.
Pokemon: ---You may capture or snag one Pokemon available at your rank. If you choose not to your rewards will be greater.
Rewards: ---1-5 Snag Coins, depending on performance and how the objective is handled.
Note: Due to the nature of this mission, you may complete it several times. However, do NOT do a simple copy and paste or do it too often, or else you will fail instantly. You also will gain less Snag Coins on successive performances of this mission. Arriving in Saffron, James quickly located the massive Silph Co. Building. He headed inside and sat in the waiting area for a few minutes before getting sent through to the deliveries management office. "Hello, I heard you needed trainers to help deliv-""Yes yes, very busy busy. Need you to deliver some Pokeballs." A scientist cut him off, obsessively rearranging boxes and scratching his head. Sweat poured down his face despite the powerful air conditioning. The scientist looked James up and down. "Scrawny, not sure if he can handle a large load..." He muttered to himself. "Maybe I'll have you deliver a small shipment to Cerulean... less chance of bandits that way yesyes. Doesn't look like he could handle them nooo...." Growing impatient, James reached a hand out to clasp the scientist's shoulder. The scientist recoiled in surprise as James leaned in close. "Trust me. I can handle it." hissed the young man. After all, larger shipments over larger distances meant larger rewards, and he was running low on Pokeballs. Besides, maybe he would run into some action on the way there... The scientist simply stared for a few moments before trying to remove the young Snagem Scout's hand from his shoulder. Finding that the blue-haired trainer was much stronger than he looked, the scientist simply stood and sweated profusely. "Yesyes very well point made take this to Fuchsia long time since any shipments have gotten there mart manager losing business trainers displeased as well. Group of bandits stopping all movement over there." The scientist mumbled in one breath, still eying James's hand. "Oh good, some action." said James in a more even tone, backing away from the scientist and picking up a box about twice the size of his bag. "So what kind of payment can I expect if I get this whole thing safely to Fuchsia and also get rid of those bandits.""Hahaha oh no nobody can get rid of those bandits no you'd have to be crazy or stupid or both if you lose any of that shipment you're paying for them" muttered the scientist. At a raised eyebrow from James however, the scientist quickly added "I'm sure you can handle them though oh no problem for you no problem at all. There's 40 pokeballs in that box very expensive yes that's 8000 pokedollars. Get the shipment there and we can give you 2 of them 400 pokedollars yes very good deal. Get rid of the bandits (The scientist snickered under his breath) you can have 4 of them yes that's 800 pokedollars worth!" Does this guy ever use punctuation? thought James, as the scientist gasped for breath. "I'll take care of them." said James. "Got a cart or something I can use?""Oh yesyes of course supposed to lend one of these to every trainer even if they don't need it yes" replied the scientist as he scrambled to fetch a small luggage cart. "Here let me help you with that" he said, grabbing the box from James and deftly tying it onto the cart with a piece of twine. "Now gogogo goodluck Fuchsia needs those yesyes" he babbled as James turned to leave. "What a foolish fool ehehe" sneered the scientist under his breath. James's sharp ears heard him, though he gave no indication of having done so. ------- Opting to head south through Route 6 instead of east (He doubted the residents of Lavender would be very happy to see him), the young man passed through to Vermillion with little event. A few angry Spearow had made passes at him, but a few warning bursts of fire from Litwick, perched on the cart, had quickly scared them off. While Litwick guarded the cart, Snivy rode on his shoulder as always. Corphish walked beside him, humming happily and of course, constantly bumping into things. As the group passed through Vermillion and headed east towards Diglett's Cave, James began to notice a few people staring. One kid shouted "Hey, what is that weird thing on his shoulder?" as his mother shushed him. As he was about to exit the town borders, one friendly man called out, "Hey, kid, where do you think you're going?" "I'm headed to Fuchsia on business." came the reply as James indicated the cart. "Well you might want to circle back and go through Lavender. There's bandits in that cave." "Thanks for the warning mate, but I'm not scared of petty thieves."The man shook his head. Kids these days. "Alright kid, your funeral." James tensed slightly as he passed by Diglett's Cave. He saw light coming from inside, and raucous voices. He stayed alert. Not alert enough to see the Sandile crouching in the shade, however. The pokemon rushed indoors with a screech, warning the bandits inside. James thought about making a run for it, but on second thought... I'm going to have to deal with them eventually. Maybe if I teach them a lesson here, word will spread and they'll leave me alone down the road.Further weighing of his options was cut short however by a yelping sound coming from within the cave followed by more laughter. "Bastards are torturing some poor thing in there..."Glancing around, James quickly hid the cart under a bush. A shoddy job, really, but most onlookers wouldn't give it a second glance. With that, he signaled to his Pokemon and rushed in. What he saw made his blood veritably boil with anger. The cave was sparsely furnished into a makeshift bandit hideout. On the wall was a tattered flag that read "Team Bandito - Living off the Land and Stealing from the Rich". Someone had crossed out "the Rich" and scribbled "erryone" below it. Three bandits sat on stools in a circle around a table. A campfire blazed behind them. On the table was a Growlithe, its legs tied together and its muzzle tied shut. The Sandile from earlier was at one of the bandit's feet, nudging him and trying to get his attention. The bandit was too busy lowering a thick combat knife towards the Growlithe to respond, however. As a second bandit sitting across from the first noticed the intruder, James snapped. He rushed straight for the knife-wielding bandit, drew back, and punched with all his might. Noticing his companion's expression, the bandit turned around in time to receive a fist to the face. He dropped his knife and clutched his face, howling in pain, as a very angry James kneed him in the chin and then brought his foot down on the bandit's foot. As the bandit collapsed, not quite sure where to clutch, Snivy shouted encouragement while Corphish and Litwick simply stared. As the red mist of wrath faded from his vision, James turned and just barely ducked under the outstretched claws of a Sandshrew. Somersaulting back to the safety of his team, he sized up the situation. The fallen bandit wasn't going to be fighting anytime soon, but his Sandile stood, hissing angrily. The Sandshrew turned and brandished its claws as its trainer stood up, holding the knife his comrade dropped. Finally, the third bandit stood behind the table, looking slightly scared. His Maractus glared from atop the table. "Maractus, Pin Missile!" "Sandshrew, Slash!" "Litwick, Heat Wave! Snivy, Bullet Seed! Corphish, Water Gun!"As commands flew, the Sandile glanced down at its trainer, who was still lying on the ground moaning. "Just...attack" he muttered. Sandile stood and leaped at Snivy, ready to Crunch the serpent. As Maractus let loose with a storm of needles, Litwick's Heat Wave consumed them and went towards Maractus. The cactus barely dodged in time, and its trainer was too far back to feel much more than slight discomfort from the heat. Its Flash Fire activating, the Growlithe began to emit a blazing aura. Meanwhile, Snivy's bullet seed found its mark on Sandshrew, who roared in pain but continued forward to land a blow on Snivy's arm. As Snivy countered with a Leaf Tornado, Sandile was also buffeted away, straight into Corphish's Water Gun. As the bandits' pokemon backed up to regroup for a second attack, a bark resonated through the room. Wounded and in great pain, but alive and very, very angry, Growlithe had escaped from its bounds and gone straight for the downed bandit, who could only yelp and cry for mercy. The display was too much for Sandile, who fled into the darkness of the cave. As the other two bandits winced and tried to pull the enraged canine off of their comrade, Corphish shot forward with a Crabhammer. Sandshrew tried to block the attack with its claws, but being a ground type, that turned out to be a very bad idea as it fainted under the super effective attack. Maractus turned around with a Needle Arm, but Litwick came to the rescue once again, hitting it with a well-aimed Flamethrower and taking it down for the count. As James drew closer to the bandits, the two conscious ones began to plead for mercy as Growlithe continued to tear at their downed comrade. To their surprise, James simply knelt and tentatively touched the Growlithe, who turned and snarled, rage in its eyes. "Stop. You're better than this.Still snarling, the Growlithe took a step towards James. "Stop." said James, more firmly this time. His team drew closer, prepared to defend him, but he signaled them to back off. "You were a proud beast once." said James quietly. "You still are." he amended. "Don't sink to the level of the scum of the world. They've learned their lesson." He added, turning to glare at the two bandits, who nodded furiously. Slowly calming down, the Growlithe stopped snarling as the anger faded from its eyes. It stared at James for a moment, considering him. There might've even been a hint of a wag in its tail. But it wasn't long before the canine's wounds took their toll and it slumped over, unconscious. James gently tapped it with his last remaining pokeball. The dog disappeared in a flash of light. "Clean yourselves up and find a decent job. Redeem yourselves to the world. It's not too late. said James over his shoulder as he left. Opting to cut through the forest to the south instead of taking the road, James went through the rest of the day without trouble. Come nightfall, he set up camp in a clearing near a stream, and he released Growlithe from its pokeball. He used 1x Revive on it and waited. It wasn't long before the canine's breathing became more even and it slowly opened its eyes. It looked around and saw James and Snivy looking down at it. The little dog seemed to shrug a little, as if to say "Well, I guess I'm captured." before falling into a deep, restful sleep. James decided against returning it to its pokeball as he, Snivy, and Corphish also began drifting off, comforted by the warm Growlithe next to them. Litwick, tireless as always, sat on the shipment and kept watch. ------- James awoke to the sound of Growlithe growling. Instantly alert, he shook Corphish awake. As the little crayfish looked around groggily, James and Snivy began to inch forward in the direction that the dog was looking in. As he crept forward, Growlithe and Corphish joined him, the former noiselessly and the latter, not so much. Litwick stayed behind to watch the cart. Nearing the edge of the forest, James began to hear two men arguing. "It's not right, I tell you!" said a voice. "Don't be such a f***ing baby, Clark." said a gruffer voice. "You told us we'd be a vigilante group, like modern day Robin Hoods! We're nothing more than petty thieves. But this is a new low. You want to steal from that sleeping kid over there?" "You know what, you're too soft for this group anyway. Maybe it's time I shut you up for good." In response, James heard the sound of several Pokeballs opening. Taking advantage of the commotion, he snuck up closer to where he could watch the battle. A muscular, bearded man stood next to a Krookodile and a Golem. He wore a bandana with the Team Bandito logo on it and held what appeared to be a rusty cutlass. Across from him a smaller man, dwarfed in comparison stood. He looked like the kind of guy you'd see working in the Pokemart or something, not a bandit captain. Next to him stood an Excadrill and a Rhydon. He himself was unarmed. James watched as the behemoths clashed. Golem and Rhydon seemed to be evenly matched in raw power as they grappled, each trying to throw the other to the ground. Excadrill was incredibly fast, darting about the Krookodile and jabbing at it with Metal Claws. But the Krookodile fought dirty, landing Sucker Punches and Low Kicks on the Excadrill. As the two men shouted commands, the Bandito Leader suddenly lunged forward, his cutlass finding purchase between the Rhydon's armored plates. It roared in pain. Seizing the opportunity, Golem quickly grappled it to the ground, seeking to simply crush the Rhydon beneath massive weight. With an angry shout, Clark ran towards the Bandito leader, which seemed to be exactly what he wanted. He simply sidestepped and tripped the smaller man to the ground before pointing his cutlass at his neck. "Any last words, 'brother'"? James decided it was about time he revealed himself. "Snivy, Leaf Storm!" he shouted as Growlithe executed a Flare Blitz without any prompting. As both men looked up in surprise, Snivy's devastatingly powerful attack pierced Golem's thick hide at 4x effectiveness, though Snivy's future attacks would be weaker until it recovered. Unfortunately, the Golem was too Sturdy to be taken down by a single attack, no matter how powerful. Growlithe's Flare Blitz hit Krookodile, knocking the large croc to the ground. Excadrill quickly dived onto it, a claw at its neck to prevent it from getting up. "Water Gun!"Corphish finished off the Golem as it continued trying to squeeze Rhydon to death. The Bandito leader smiled venomously as he kicked Clark in the stomach. Brandishing his cutlass, he ran at James. Corphish, being the only pokemon close enough to help, bravely stood in front of James, fully prepared to defend his trainer, whatever the cost. That proved unnecessary, however, as James drew his flute and parried the leader's attack with a metallic clang. The wood chipped off his flute as he flicked it to reveal a hidden blade about 3/4 the length of the flute itself. "That's going to be a pain to repair." he remarked mildly as Rhydon lumbered over and detained the Bandito Leader. "Do you have any idea how difficult it is to build a Naginata blade into a working flute without throwing it horribly off tune? Pretty damn difficult, I'll tell you that much."Still clutching his stomach Clark got up and limped over to thank James. "You saved my life... Is there any way I could repay you?" "You can take over command of...'Team Bandito' (James spat the name with some distaste) and lead them to be a positive force.""Yes... I will. Thank you." said Clark, his eyes widening as he thought of the possibilities. "I'll leave former leader here in your hands." said James as he shook Clark's hand. "Will your Rhydon be okay?" he asked, watching the wound begin to bleed profusely. "Ah, he'll be fine. He's made of sterner stuff than you might think." responded Clark, clapping his Rhydon on its shoulder. The hulking beast roared in agreement. 'Alright then. I really must be going. Fuchsia is expecting this shipment."Clark nodded. "Of course. In the future I hope that I can lead this ragtag group of former bandits to help trainers make deliveries." "Maybe you should call them Team Helpful." James remarked dryly. "Maybe I will!" James raised an eyebrow, but didn't say anything. Snivy made a "whoosh, right over his head" gesture and he couldn't help but smile. He covered it up by once again shaking Clark's hand and wishing him good luck before turning to leave. Fuchsia's Pokemart was more than happy to take the shipment and offer James the four Pokeballs he was promised. They also offered him a permanent job, which he declined. And so it was that... "Team Helpful" came to be and James gained a new companion. He set off for home base with high hopes for Kanto's future. Of course, there would always be more bandits around. Indeed, Team Bandito may reappear if Clark was too merciful. Who knows. Nevertheless, James was in high spirits. Not even the prospect of having to use a hoverboard dampened his mood much. ((Too many or fine? I wasn't sure how many Pokeballs exactly I was supposed to get.))

Mission Tier Advancement Mission #1 So you finally made it to the end of tier six huh? Just to think, not long ago you were a fresh member, having no clue on what you were doing, just starting to trainer your Pokemon, and you already made it this far. You might think you've hit the big time by getting all the way here and choosing to take on the advancement mission but you're about to learn otherwise if you don't take this seriously. But enough of my speech to instill dramatic effect, let's get on to the reason why you're here, and that's to prove you're worthy of advancing to tier five.
This is the first of several missions you will be required to advance to each tier, once you reach the final rank of a tier that is, fortunately you've already met that requirement and now feel that you are ready to advance, so good for you! Now, your mission is a simple one, in theory that is. Our headquarters is situated within Mt. Silver, as you should know by now, which is home to many fierce Pokemon that test the strength of trainers through out the world. Because of their immense strength compared to your average wild Pokemon, and their seclusion from humans, the Pokemon here can sometimes by rather dangerous. Despite all the warnings people are given about the dangers of Mt. Silver and the Pokemon that inhabit it, one group of hoodlums though have completely disregarded these warnings and could possibly endanger not only themselves, but others, which could include us. The group I mentioned call themselves Team Ninja, though they are really nothing more than a small group of adolescent trouble makers from Johto who take their pranks, and love of all things 'ninja-like' way too far.
So what are they doing exactly? Well there is a very elderly Scizor that lives in the forested area at the base of Mt. Silver. This particular Scizor is unique in the fact that it is what is called "shiny", as in it posseses an alternate coloration apart from normal Scizor, in this case, it's a yellowish green. Now normally there is no problem in capturing a wild Pokemon, but their target is the leader of a pack of Scyther that thrive in the forest and removing the Scizor from its habit could severly disturb the hostile Scyther of Mt. Silver. Not only that, but the shiny Scizor is very old, as mentioned earlier. It can't fight much on its own, and it's almost always accomanied by other Scyther, so for Team Ninja to obtain it they would have to go through many Scyther, further disturbing the area, and with us having our headquarters in Mt. Silver, this won't be good for us. Though don't worry about Team Ninja finding out about us being here, they aren't that bright.
Now, your mission is, if you choose to accept it, to location the ragtag group of adolescent punks and stop them from capturing the shiny Scizor and disturbing the wild Pokemon of Mt. Silver. These kids have absolutely no concern for the Pokemon of the mountain and only treat them as toys. Now if it wasn't obvious already Team Ninja specialize in ninja-like Pokemon such as Nincada and Zubat, so Fire and Psychic types will be beneficial. Team Ninja themselves aren't very strong and not that much of a threat, just very annoying and reckless in their actions. So do us all a favor and give these guys the boot off of our mountain.
Objective - Prevent Team Ninja from capturing the shiny Scizor. - Don't allow them to anger and rile up the Pokemon of the mountain. - Send them packing.
Opposition - Team Ninja of course. Going by their numbers I would imagine you would face at least two members of the group with between two and three first evolution Pokemon each. You may also have to face the leader, a red headed scarf wearing teenager named Takashi who uses three Pokemon, them being Nincada, Koffing, and Ninjask.
Pokemon - You'll mostly encounter the wild Scyther of the mountain who are extremely active in protecting their leader. You may capture/snag one first stage Pokemon (Includes non-evolving)
Rewards - Advancement to Bronze Snagger in Tier Five! - Varies from there.James tread carefully, seemingly relaxed. However, his eyes darted back and forth, seeking trouble. If someone with a strong second sense or inhumanly sharp eyesight happened to be around, they might have detected a candle-shaped ghost or the heat waves it was giving off. The forest seemed peaceful enough. The only sounds were the chirping of the various Pidgeys, Starlys, and other assorted birds and the occasional crack of a twig as James took a bad step. Nodding rhythmically to some internal melody, the young musician ducked under a branch and into a small clearing. A small stream bubbled cheerfully, the water cool and clear. James decided to lie in the grass and take a rest. --- Meanwhile, a small distance away, a small orange canine dashed through the undergrowth, somehow moving both silently and at great speeds. On its back perched a serpent-like grass pokemon, its head crouched slightly to avoid branches as it looked around. Growlithe and Snivy hadn't gotten along very well at first. Litwick had quickly befriended the fellow fire-type and Corphish... well, Corphish would almost instantly become buddies with anything that wasn't trying to kill it or its comrades. Snivy, on the other hand, maintained a sort of disdain for the newbie that could almost be called... hipsterly. "I was here first, and don't you forget it," its upturned nose and sideways glance seemed to say. Growlithe hadn't exactly been falling over itself to show its respect either. Not only did the young dog belong to an inherently proud species, this particular specimen had some serious trust issues as well. Still, after plenty of afternoons training together, the two grew on each other. The fire-type canine was really quite a fun-loving individual once it let its guard down. And Snivy... Well, nobody could really tell what Snivy would do at any given moment. But one evening as Growlithe went out for a walk, Snivy casually joined it as if that was the most normal thing for it to be doing. Hiding its initial surprise, Growlithe continued on as Snivy kept pace. The two traveled in companionable silence until they ran into a young Pidgeotto out looking for trouble. They sent the bird flying awkwardly home, screaming injustices to its mother. The two partymates smiled at each other and headed home to a worried James, joking and rough-housing. Nothing builds companionship faster than a good old-fashioned brawl, after all. Anyway, they soon hit the same stream that their trainer was dozing off next to. As Snivy stopped for a drink, Growlithe sniffed at the air. Suddenly growling, the canine tackled Snivy into a bush. Coughing angrily as it nearly choked, Snivy prepared to give the canine a piece of its mind. However, the serpent stopped and perked its ears as a sound grew closer. Laughing and shouting, a pair of hoodlums raced by, bouncing off trees and rocks as they headed upstream. Growlithe raced off in hot pursuit, leaving Snivy behind. As the grass snake tried to follow, it was halted by a pair of crossed claws, long, sharp, and curved like scimitars. A pair of Scyther glared down at the Snivy, who stared back defiantly. "Smells of humans." said one in the language of the pokemon. The other nodded as they advanced towards Snivy, claws extended menacingly. "What are you doing you fools?" the two Scyther glanced back as a third Scyther, obviously their superior, approached. "They just passed us you dolts."As the two young Scyther explained themselves, Snivy took the opportunity to slip away. -- Over in the clearing, James was just about ready to move on. As he bent down for a drink, Litwick tapped him urgently on the head. Seeing a golden glint reflected in the water, he whirled around. A Scizor stood just beyond the clearing. It was hidden for the most part, but its head was partially exposed as it watched James. Quickly relaxing his body as Litwick warned him of more wild Pokemon around him, likely Scyther, he held up his hands. "I'm here to help you." He said slowly and evenly. "There are people coming to try to capture you." On the word capture, he felt a whoosh of air as a young, overzealous Scyther leaped forward. Its brethren dragged it back as the Scizor fixed it with a steely glance. Nodding slowly, the Scizor turned and hobbled away as its entourage swiftly followed. It didn't get far, however, as a pair of young trainers showed up. Catching the glimpse of gold, one of them quickly hurled a pokeball. A Scyther intercepted it, however, and broke free almost instantly. The Scizor broke into a sprint, its tattered wings hovering as it escaped at a surprisingly fast pace. Its Scyther bodyguards followed it quickly. "F***. Let's chase them!" said one of the Ninjas. "You look ridiculous." said James distastefully. The pair were dressed in black hoodies and sweatpants. Their hoods were up and tightened so that only a nose and a hint of their eyes showed. "Those aren't even real ninja outfits and you stick out like sore thumbs in this green forest." continued the trainer as he indicated the trees with a sweep of his arm. "Oh...Oh yeah? Well you wear glasses!" remarked one of the two "Ninjas", lowering his hood to reveal a freckled face and a mess of red hair. The other kept his hood up. "You lost or something? The library's that way." he sneered. James shook his head. Clearly there wasn't going to be any reasonable discussion with these guys. "Whatcha doin' here anyway?" Remarked the red-haired Ninja, his curiosity getting the better of him. "You after that Scizor or some sh**? Cause that's ours. You dun wanna mess with us." This last remark was punctuated by a backflip, though he miffed the landing and stumbled. He quickly righted himself and drew a pokeball as his face turned red. James made no movement, his arms crossed. "So you think you're ninjas." he paced forward towards the pair, picking a branch off the ground as he did so. He hefted it before dropping it and picking up a thinner, longer one. "We don't think it, we know it!" said the hooded boy in a "tough" voice. "Oh, well that's cute." said James as he snapped some of the protruding twigs off his branch. "I don't suppose you're armed." He flicked his hidden blade out and began casually slicing at his branch. "N-no... we uh... we left our swords... at home." said the red-haired kid. "Pity. What would you say to a sparring contest?" said James as he put away his flute/blade. "After all, a ninja would clearly have no problem beating me, right?" He turned around and began walking back as he spoke. In response, the hooded boy glanced at his companion and quickly snatched a large branch off the ground, bringing it down towards James with a two-handed smash. The young Snagem member rolled out of the way as he heard the whoosh of the air. He stood and casually brushed the leaves out of his hair. "Really now? Now my hair is all messed up." He remarked, rolling up the sleeves on his simple gray shirt. The red-haired ninja picked a stick off the ground as well before lunging at James. The blue-haired trainer parried the blow with a flick of his wrist before poking the kid in the stomach with his stick. The hooded Ninja tried again, this time swinging the stick like a baseball bat at James's legs. Jumping, James landed on the stick, which snapped under his weight. James made a movement as if he was going to punch the kid, but instead stopped his fist just short and flicked him in the forehead instead. "Ow! That hurt!" protested the kid. "Looks like I win. Get outta here."In response, the two clicked open Pokeballs to reveal their Zubats. "Fine." sighed James. "Why can't anyone just LEAVE when I kick their a**. Why does it always have to come to a pokemon battle?" he muttered to himself.
"Because this is a Pokemon RP", said a disembodied voice.
He released Corphish as the two Zubats lunged for him. He slapped one in the face with his stick before dropping it. The other one opened a small cut on his cheek with its wing.
As the first Zubat dropped, Corphish slapped it with a Crabhammer, KO'ing it.
The red-haired ninja recalled his Zubat and reached for another pokeball. The second Zubat went for James again as Corphish hopped 2 inches off the ground trying to reach it. And failing. Obviously.
A loud bark announced Growlithe's arrival as twin Flamethrowers from the canine and Litwick (who no longer saw the need for invisibility) hit the second Zubat, also KO'ing it.
The two Ninjas released their second Pokemon, a Sneasel and a Koffing. "Night Slash!" "Sludge Bomb!"
James retreated to a safe distance as his Corphish dueled with the Sneasel and Growlithe dodged the torrent of foul-smelling gunk. Opting to disengage for the sake of sportsmanship, Litwick amused itself by periodically popping out and frightening one of the two boys.
Corphish was trying its best to fight the Sneasel, but it was just too slow and the Sneasel was just too fast. It poked and jabbed at Corphish and he started to slow down as the wounds built up. As Sneasel went in for a finishing blow, Corphish suddenly whirled around and slammed the Dark type in the face with a powerful Crabhammer. Turns out the little crayfish was pretending all along...
Meanwhile, Growlithe was darting about on the ground. Its speed prevented the Koffing from landing any blows, but the Koffing's advantage of levitation was doing likewise. It seemed like a stalemate. Suddenly, Growlithe stood stock still and began to glow with a fiery aura. Failing to notice the warning signs, Koffing went for a Sludge Bomb.
Suddenly leaping into a Flare Blitz, Growlithe hit the Koffing head on, sending it flying over several trees and crashing into the ground a good distance away.
The red-haired ninja started backing away while his companion growled angrily and made as if to lunge at James...
Litwick decided this would be a good time to Lick the assailant's face and the hooded ninja stumbled back, temporarily blinded.
James whirled around as he heard a loud "thunk" sound. A shuriken was imbedded in the tree two inches from his face. He whirled back around to find that a third ninja had appeared seemingly out of nowhere. He was much taller than the first two, and carried himself with a grace that they clearly lacked. It was obvious this one knew what he was doing.
"Hey, Takashi!" said the red-headed ninja. "We were just uh... Kicking this guy's a**!" "Really now." responded the new arrival. His voice was melodic and lilting, not unlike James's. But where James spoke softly and with mild confidence, this man spoke with a restrained and almost cocky tone. He was definitely trying to not show any emotion, again like James. But where the young Snagem was always successful in doing so, this man was obviously restraining himself. His voice had a harsh edge to it, as if he was trying very hard to not break down into guttural screaming.
"Who are you?" demanded James with a bit less finesse than usual. He was visibly shaken, and only a little from the projectile that had nearly taken his ear off. Something was off about this man. Something was very off.
"Shouldn't it be obvious? I'm the leader of this little mission. replied the man, a strange glint in his eyes. They were the only part of his face not covered by his mask. "Don't you need to stop me? Aren't you here for your precious promotion?
"...What?" "Aren't you on this mission for your precious "Team Snagem"? "How... How do you know?
The man simply laughed, a wild sound with perhaps a slight hint of lunacy. He drew a katana from its sheath. The wicked sharp blade glinted in the sunlight as he tested the edge with his finger. A single drop of blood leaked out of his finger. He raised his hand to his lips and licked it slowly. He closed his eyes as he relished the taste.
Suddenly his eyes snapped open. He pointed the sword at James. "Show me how well you can fight alongside your Pokemon.
"Hey, boss... I...don't... are you trying to kill him?!" "SHUT UP." the man roared. A vein bulged in his head. He released three pokemon at once, a Nincada, a Ninjask, and a Koffing. They looked scared, as if they were being forced into fighting.
"Hey... you alright boss?" "I... I'm fine." responded the man as he regained some semblance of control. He took a deep breath and adjusted his scarf.
"Fight me." once again, he pointed the sword at James. He made an attempt at a cheeky grin, but it looked more like a pained grimace. "Unless you're scared."
The first two ninjas were catching on that something was wrong now. But they were too scared to do anything, and so they backed a safe distance off and just watched.
His three Pokemon moved into position, glancing at each other nervously. James's team stood in front of him as well, ready to fight. Growlithe stared down the Nincada. Corphish clacked his claws at the Koffing. Litwick glared at the Ninjask.
Suddenly, Takashi lunged at James, blade outstretched. Barely drawing his own and parrying it, James staggered back. Takashi continued his assault, pushing James further back to the edge of the clearing.
The young Maestro considered himself fairly skilled with a sword, but the ferocity and speed of the onslaught left him on the defense, barely managing to defend himself.
Corphish tried to turn around and help his master, but Koffing wasn't having any of that. A smokescreen blinded the little crayfish and Koffing began a series of Tackle attacks, buffeting Corphish left and right.
Growlithe reared back and shot a powerful Flamethrower attack at the Nincada. The bug dodged it by burrowing under the ground. Appearing behind Growlithe, it used Mudslap. As the dog tried to paw the dirt out of its eyes, Nincada hit it with a Metal claw.
Litwick began to launch small Ember attacks, trying to land a burn on the Ninjask. The little ghost knew that its best bet was to keep the Ninjask in too much pain to abuse its speed. The Ninjask dodged the attacks though, appearing and disappearing in blurs of speed. As its Speed Boost let it move faster and faster, it began getting small attacks in on Litwick as well.
James had his blade locked with Takashi's. He stood his ground, pushing as hard as he could, but the man was much stronger. He pressed forward, causing James to scrape backwards through the dirt. Seeing the futility of this engagement, James suddenly dropped into a roll. The man's blade whooshed over his head as he stumbled from the sudden lack of resistance. Seeing his chance, James executed a low sweeping kick, knocking the man further off balance. A powerful roundhouse kick to the face left him reeling back. He recovered quickly and glared at James, a maniacal grin slowly forming on his face.
"You've gotten better." "What?" "Heheheh."
He sprang forward once more, and the sound of metal on metal rang out once more.
As the smoke began to clear, Corphish locked his claws in front of himself. Koffing tackled straight into them and was stopped cold, dropping to the ground. Corphish took the opportunity to slam it with a Crabhammer.
Snarling in pain, Growlithe counter-attacked with a Bite attack. As the Nincada struggled about and tried to dislodge the canine's powerful grip, Growlithe began to charge a flamethrower. Flames began to lick from out of its mouth and the Nincada chittered with pain.
Litwick suddenly changed tactics. It let loose with a powerful heat wave that the Ninjask just couldn't dodge. Knocked to the ground by the force of the attack, it flittered its singed wings weakly.
James was pinned to the ground. He was trying his hardest to push back, but the man's sword was pressing closer and closer to his neck.
"Hey boss c'mon you've taught him a lesson already... let's go..." The hooded amateur ninja said in a weak voice. "Yeah let's go... Maybe you can teach me some of those cool sword moves" said the red-headed amateur, trying to lighten the mood.
Growlithe, Litwick, and Corphish turned back from their fallen adversaries to watch, ready to leap into action.
The man started to laugh, a humorless sound. "You don't get it, do you?" he stood up, loosening his grip on his sword. As James tried to get up, he pinned the blue-haired young man to the ground with a boot. "Takashi's as good as dead. I poisoned him and left him to die so I could take his place."
Two jaws dropped open as the hooligans stared. The three Pokemon on the ground stopped struggling immediately, letting themselves faint.
Still chuckling, the man dropped three empty pokeballs to the ground. He took off the scarf and threw it in the air. As it fluttered dramatically to the ground, the onlookers noticed the bloodstains darkening the cloth.
James curled a lip in disgust. "What do you want from me." he said as a statement and not a question.
The man stared down at James, his eyes burning with hatred. "My birthright." he raised his blade and prepared to stab down. James spat in contempt and stared fearlessly.
A powerful Leaf Storm interrupted his swing and snapped his blade in half. Snivy stood, out of breath, at the edge of the clearing.
Don't you dare ditch me like that again. it seemed to say, glaring at Growlithe.
A crew of Scyther burst into the clearing and dragged the man away.
He laughed. "So be it. You WILL see me again. he squirmed with a strange motion, and two objects slipped out of his pocket.
The former was a pokeball, and it burst into a Hydreigon. It scattered the Scyther with a single roar as the man jumped on.
"Be ready, young Whitmarsh." he flew off as the onlookers shielded their eyes from the dust.
James got to his feet slowly and dusted himself off. He walked over and picked up the second object.
"The antidote, most likely." he said slowly. He tossed it to the two ninjas. Returning the fallen pokemon to their Pokeballs, he tossed those over as well.
"Go tend to your friend. Stay out of trouble. And get the hell off my mountain."
He glanced over at his team. Snivy smiled proudly and Growlithe wagged his tail tentatively. Litwick offered a cheekly salute and Corphish bobbed his head happily.
Collecting himself, James headed back to base.
Trouble just seems to follow me wherever I go.
