Hikaru was making his way down the tunnels and hanging up lights. Normally a lower level catcher would be doing the job, but as head catcher he found himself wanting to show the other catchers that he too could do simpler jobs. Lately the other catchers were getting lazy, probably because he had been doing so well himself.
He sighed. Why was success such a heavy burdon? He pondered as he hung some nets filled with fireflies near the female's den. Casually he peaked in to see what it was like in there. He had never been inside a female's den before. Not that he hadn't had the opportunity, it was just that they scared him a little.
He had never really been around females in his life, even when he lived outside Mazunguko. His mother had abandoned him which left a deep scar in him. That was one of the reasons he loved Mazu so much, there were a lack of females to scare him.
He sucked up his fear and went into the den to hang up some fireflies. On his face he had a worried expression, but he had to be brave. This was to show his fellow catchers that female's were nothing to be scared of. He would prove to everyone that he was brave too. Perhaps the king would even give him an award for being so brave. His expression changed to that of arrogance.
