I think a good way to combat inflation would be to have some sort of list of prices on items (donation, event, common/rare) in here, and for us to follow it as a guide. Some sort of organized teamwork by us to make sure that we're all--or rather, most of us--working on the same page.

For example: Kikis are 32k (in the Marketplace). If I said I was going to start selling them at 29 or 30k, the other members would know to not take advantage of this and also maybe even sell around that price.
Otherwise, we're really just fighting with ourselves.

A good idea, however it wouldn't realy work as people wouldnt follow our guide.. sweatdrop

I never use price guides, i use my own initiative and i usually go below MP prices. xd

Virgil was making a price guide for the guild. 3nodding Watch out for that wink

I don't believe in underpricing it too much, because inflators will just buy out ours and profit from it. Having it lower but still quite close to the inflated price, IMHO, is better. As long as the underpricing is not only done by one person.

For items with less demand, it's easier. Someone tried to inflate Zonys a few weeks ago and I tried countering it. In the end they bought my Feb 2004 for 45k. And now it's down again to 30k. mrgreen

I like it, and definatley talk to Virgil if you have some ideas, he seems to be very open to them. 3nodding But I think we all do really try to sell under marketprice. Most people do sell the cheapest on the market, because it means people will buy their's first.

Exactly.
I think that's what he meant.
It's a great idea and it would definetly make sure everyone is on the same page.

Umm... just a thought, but if you were to make a price guide under the banner of a deflation guild for every one to use, wouldn't that seem a little suspicious to the common user, like we have an alternative agenda and are just trying to get people to sell their items for less so that we can get them?

Not that I really care though, I just sell at the same mark as the lowest in the vend.

Well I'm back...again. sweatdrop
And I read what happened to Virgil, so it might be a little more difficult now. sad

Um...I don't know now. I've got Horns, Kikis and a bunch of Letters from late 05 to now, so I could hurt those prices...but I don't think most of them are really a problem. But anyhoo, I'll come up with a list of donation items and see what I can do with them. 3nodding

If anyone cares, I'm basing these on the Marketplace prices, which is where most people value their items from. I'll most likely screw around in the Exchange sometime tomorrow with these prices.

Horns: 170k+
I'll aim for...130-140k? They're changing a lot, especially since I was gone. gonk

Oct 04: 40k
Me: 34k

March 05: 29k
I could keep them at 25k for a while.

Kiki: Same as above. xp

Oct 05: 1.2k
I could do 10k 3nodding

Coco: Same as Octs

Nov 05: 4.7k
Me: 4k?

Dec 05: 3.8-3.9k
3.5k for me?

Jan 06: 4.9k
I think they're already on their way down, but 4.2k. domokun

Oh, and I'm not going to be in a hurry to get rid of these. wink
Watch out, Exchange... ninja

I was thinking about that in one of the other exchange guilds. Only more wild... >_<;

I say go for the anti-iflation price guide! mad Also, start rallying up a ton of exchange whores! If we get alot of exchangers using that price guide then the rest of the exchange will follow suit! ^^

As people have alreasy said, there are a lot of other price guides, but a specific one for this guild would be nice. 3nodding I'll be looking out for Virgil's.
