I am curious do you bless your food and drink before you consume it. If so how? If you are looking for a blessing just chant:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Before you even eat it and beleive it.

Nope, we don't. Although I remember I made my grandmother mad with a grace that I thought was appropriate:
"Good food, good meat Good God let's eat!"

I don't like blessing my food outloud for the family. Especially when I'm hungry. To prove this point once when I was younger, I blessed the food for roughly ten mintues. My parents have never asked me to do it again. domokun

I know that the only time it takes me that long or longer is when I am burning incense over my food and allowing Krishna (God) to eat it before me. What did you do?

If Icy's family is like mine, you all bow your heads and thank God for the food and all he's given you and pray for others. Now my Pap has made this an art form rofl He blesses everything from the food to the family to the missionaries. (he can go on sometimes xd ) We all just tease him about it, it's all good.

We used to say grace all the time before meals, but haven't done so in a long time...
Bless us oh Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to recieve through Christ, our Lord, Amen.

When I prepare food, I consecrate it before the Ameshaspand that it may be nourishing and delicious. As far as before consuming... I generally trust the chef to have made the food propperly, and it is not considerd the propper time in my faith to bless the meal. Food is to be blessed when being prepared, not served in my faith. Intonations of gratitude may occur, but it is largely at the discretion of the individual. I personally often give a moment's pause and reflection, but no sort of ceremony and it is always brief. We believe the food is there to be consumed, not contemplated, after all. domokun

Cookie+ Lady; we thank for the food, our health, and for the health of those dear to us, and for the sacrefices that the food makes to get to our table. I think that time I was also blessing my mother for buying, preparing, and serving, my father for earning the money, my sister for helping out, praying for our health, praying for the health of our family members, praying for the health of friends of the family, praying for the animals that died, praying for the plants that died, praying that we would all be healthy and happy, and on and on. xp
xd I like the way that your religion deals with food, Greenie. heart
When I do pray, the few times I do, I like to do it silently, for a moment. Thanking the plants and animals that lost their life for mine. I verbally thank the chef, because they can hear me. To me, blessing/praying over the food is a way of giving thanks to those who cannot hear it at the time.
