The one most dangerous thing in this world is a woman who's aware of her looks. No race of creature was more sure of their physical....ahem....prowess as the Fae, so seeing a young woman, with rather obvious Fae features, preening in front of a mirror was not an unusual sight....even at an early hour of the morning. Brushing her hair into more than a semblance of order, Haaletu'laulja was only up at said ungodly hour for one reason. To be at market early. Her mother had insisted only the night before that her darling daughter needed to find herself two things. A man, and cooking skills. The first had the young Fae woman twitching, as she believed that she needed no such thing draping from her arm, and treating her like some precious doll, but the second. Well....The second, she supposed was a necessary skill.

Therefore, as reason would have it, she was up, ungodly early, to go fetch supplies for her 'lessons' to herself on how to cook. Straightening her favourite dress, the young Fae secured her headpiece in her hair, carefully adjusting it so that everything about her stunningly beautiful appearance was perfect. Then she stood, smiling at her reflection. The action was very cool in nature, and didn't seem to quite reach her eyes....not that such was abnormal. Turning on her heel, she made her way for the market, ignoring the dust of the road.

This was such a lovely day. The early morning sun was just peeking its head above the horizon as her eyes caught sight of the market. All was quiet and dark, and she sighed happily. A lack of people. It was a nice thing, since she wasn't too fond of many other races outside her own. Perusing what was currently, open, the young Fae's wings fluttered softly, and she nodded. She'd wait til there was more going on. Til sunshine lit the sky, and there was more noise in the air. For now? Wandering the streets, a worthwhile endeavor.

User ImageShe might be the first young Fae up early, but Jael woke before the sun did to get herself ready for the day. The market wasn't open yet and her two helpers came in drunk late last night, so they wouldn't be any help to her until she was ready for the evening show of drawing in the adult target. Through out the day she was fine with parlor tricks for the day crowd.

Tying her bandana back over unruly curly hair, the Gypsy was dressed for the day and grabbed her bag, tucking it away under her skirt in case of thieves. Of course, would try to steal from a Gypsy? That was obviously bad luck.

Walking down the streets, the Lycan realized a few of the silver shops open and she couldn't help but stop buy and admire the necklaces and rings. "What I want," she told a vendor, not caring her voice was a bit loud for this time of morning, "is more nose rings and big hoop ear rings. Everyone wants those ear rings that either are against your ear or dangle to your neck. Who wants that? The hoops are practical." Of course she thought everyone needed to dress more like her.

It wasn't only Fae with egos. Jael knew she was a well endowed woman with many attractive qualities about her. So, when she turned and noticed a Fae carrying herself like the queen of the world, the Lycan scoffed and rolled her pretty eyes

The scoff did not go unnoticed by the fae, and her slanted eyes turned sharply to glare at the woman. Ugh. A Lycan? Scoffing at HER?! Where did she get the RIGHT?! It made no sense, for her to be quite so.....picky. Lycans....Such poor creatures. Standing tall, she gazed back at the other, straightening a lock of silvery hair, and blowing a single strand of the black streak from her face, "What gives you the right to scoff at one such as me, Lycan?" She spat, her tone venomous. The markings on her skin stood out in early morning light, and she seemed almost as a woman possessed. Haale approached the....rather under-dressed Lycan.

Her feet made almost no noise, though her jewelry and coin purse did, as she circled the woman, "I suppose you are not bad, for your kind. But I am aware of myself, and none have right to scoff at me, to be quite honest with you." Haaletu'laulja couldn't help it too much. She was proud, and very much attached to her looks, as she had precious little else. With her mother's mind lost to time, and her father gone, well, her looks, magic, and work were what she had left to cling to. Thus, when someone scoffed at her, she never let it slide. Ever.

The other woman looked like a wet cat when she heard Jael's scoff, which only turned the scoff into a laugh. As the Fae chattered on like a yowling feline, the Lycan purchased a new navel ring and a few new necklaces and rings. Getting her change, she once overed the elegant Fae woman and shook her head. Was she even worth getting into a fight with? Probably not.

Her words had no effect on the Gypsy and she'd prove it. Putting her things away in various pockets and places, she looked the Fae in the eye and surged to her full height, hip cocked, arms under her breast as they crossed. "You're really annoying for it being so early. What's the matter? Your dress not flashy enough for you?" Oh, Fae women were the worst when they were like this one here. Jael wanted to scratch that pretty face of hers. If the Gypsy got any marks, they'd add to her charm, really. By Lycan standards.

Fae were all too thin and too tall, not good for anything useful like labor. She was built for hard manual labor like she did sometimes when there was no one else to do it for her. This one looked like she didn't do anything all day. Jael tried to inspect her hands for any sign that she'd ever worked a day in her life.

Giving her a look, she took a hand carved totem from her pocket, gently turning it over and over in her hand. It made her feel better, the feeling of smooth, polished wood in her hand. Each piece done by her own work, she indeed knew what labor was, as since her mother had fallen 'ill' (if you would), she trusted none to take care of the woman but herself. So that included cleaning after her, and several other such things. Taking a slow breath, she studied the gypsy, and murmured, "Simply because I am content to wear a higher standard of clothing, does not make it flashy."

To be quite honest, Haaletu'laulja hated the attention. It was why she was a watcher, not a person for interaction. Tucking some of her hair back, she was rather irritated. Upon spotting her hands, the Lycan would indeed see the signs of labor, blisters and callouses that were formed over years. Huffing a bit, she calmed herself. It had only been a scoff. There was no reason for her to get so...agitated. Though she was, she remembered why she was here. Cooking....attempting to cook...for her mother....For mother.

Jael didn't like haughty women like her, regardless of their species. It just gave her more reason to hate this woman because she was a Fae. Her eyes watched the wisp of a woman with a snort. "Oh, please. You Fae are all so flashy with your clothing." She fished out a roll of beautiful purple fabric, brand new and freshly cut. "See this? This is going to be a dress. One color, with a few beads on it. If it were yours what would you do with it then?" She highly doubted it would be the same kind of dress they were talking about. Fae seemed to like layers. Sure, she had two layers on her hips, but that was because her first skirt was thin.

This purple material was light, but not sheer. It wouldn't need any kind of layering unless you wanted it. It was just one solid color, deep purple that looked like red wine in the sunlight, a very attractive color indeed!
