A girl with pale skin, and strange animal-like attachments stood on the balls of her feet, overlooking the town. A big old sand box was all it was to someone of her mind-frame. She thought about how she wanted to have just a bucket and shovel, a little water to make it all stay together. Oh yeah. That would have been great! But, there was nothing but dirt, rocks, and a lone tumbleweed that rolled by her. The girl sighed, and looked to her little pet raccoon, Alex, who seemed to be dying from the heat. “Let’s run a little bit, buddy~ Get the wind through our fur~!” A bright smile marked her face. She knelt down, and Alex jumped onto her shoulder. She took a few long steps and then shot off down the street.
Kicking dirt and the like up behind her, she ran a straight line, her tail swaying behind her. The girl would skid and spin herself around and run back the other way. A large rock lay in the road. The girl didn’t see it, but Alex did. He squeaked and jumped, and tugged on his friends ears. “H-Hey cut it out! That hur--” She tripped and rolled, head over tail, right into a shop. Alex scurried in behind her, squeaking in order to scold her, and only she would understand. “I know I know….” Lifting her head, she looked around. Gun. Guns everywhere. She jumped to her feet, eyes wide. Hunters? Her and Alex didn’t like the looks of this. They were always getting shot at, and being called ‘pests’. The girl grabbed her raccoon and quickly shut up. Maybe they wouldn’t get noticed…?

Jericho had been knocked down by the heel, as he wasn't the most combative type around. He picked himself up from the ground, using his sleeve to wipe the blood that was slowly starting to run down his face.
"There are plenty of good points. She pays on time, she keeps people from screwing around with me for the most part. I don't have to deal in anything illegal, stuff like that. As for work, I can't tell ya, work it out for yourselves. I know for sure Boss has openings, whether you would fill them is up to you. Only other tips I can give you is to check the Shots N' Shells."
Jericho pulled some coins from his pocket and dropped them on the bar. "Since you're new, and jobless, those drinks are on me."

Helios had road into town with Lily on horse back. He notice some of the sights until his eyes landed on what appeared to be a book store. "I wonder if they have any books that might be an interesting reads." "I know what types of books I'm going to look for." "Lily is your mind ever out of the gutter?" "Sometimes but it's mostly in the gutter." With a sign Helios and Lily enter the book store

"Are you alright?" Michael asked the... whatever she was... who had tripped into the store. He fished around in his jacket for a canteen. "Here. It may not be the coldest but you two looked like you could use some water." Michael waited patiently for the girl to drink up. He thought she might be some kind of leftover hybrid. Angels had been fond of that sort of thing at one point, until they all settled on humans as the default sentient being. There was only one way to tell and that was by name. Hybrids always tried to give a name that sounded like a number first. "I haven't seen the owner around, but the shade is nice. I'm called Michael. Who might you be?"

The bell at the front of the shop jangled softly as the two newcomers entered. At the desk, the owner's head jerked up sharply from her work and she hid an ink-stained sleeve with a hint of embarrassment.
"Can I help you?" she asked, standing with some small amount of difficulty.
Six months along and nothing had gotten easier.

“I-I’m fine…” She placed Alex on her head and dusted herself off, a little blood trickled from a small scrape on her knee. It stung, but she was more interested in the man before her. She reached out, cautiously to take the canteen. She quickly grabbed at it and took a few steps back, drinking quickly. She placed some in her hand, and Alex lapped it right up. The girl looked back up and handed the canteen back. Her tail twitched slightly, in a wag, and she tried to keep her eyes off of the guns around here. “Michael~” She replied with a smile. “I’m B-Bonus…” She squeaked her name and pointed up to her pet. “And this here is Alex~ It‘s nice to see somethin’ other than dirt around here. ”

"Thanks," Xiomara said with a smile. "So what's your name?"
Remigio poured out some more whiskey for himself as he listened to the conversation. He wasn't pleased with being stuck in this town, of all towns, but it could be worse. At least there were jobs. Not every city in the east coast could say that.

Jericho held a finger up for a moment indicating they wait, grabbing two bottles from under the counter, jump-sliding over the bar in an easy practiced movement, and taking them to one of the tables that had called for more. He set the bottles down the returned to behind the counter. "Jericho. Just refer to me as Jericho."

As Helios and Lily entered, Helios spotted a woman and saw that she was with child. She had asked if they needed help finding anything. "No, we don't need any help for now were just browsing" then Helios thought which could help him out later. "Though I do want to know if you have any books on useful plant life in these parts, you see this is my first time in a desert environment."

"Ah, my apologies." Marcus steps out from the back of his shop at the loud ruckus out front, boots making a satisfying thunk each time they hit the wooden floor. He pushes the awkward pair of glasses up the bridge of his nose, taking stock of his two guests, "And are you two here for guns, munitions, or something more interesting?" His smirk is playful as he gestures at the fanciful array of weapons, both practical and decorative, "I am also quite the smith and leatherworker, should you need tack for your horse." ...Though Marcus debated why the strange girl would need a horse, looking somewhat of a beastchild.

"I was looking for bullets for this," Michael lifted his gun with the muzzle pointed down so as to be non-threatening. "As for a horse, I haven't got one. I was following an angel and I wound up here." "I was supposed to be passing through, but do you know where I might find some work for now?" Michael turned out his pockets finding that he only the money that had been in his pockets, amounting to about enough for a good steak dinner.

"Ah, yes." She said softly, tapping a finger against her lips at she looked around. "Not from these parts, then?" she asked mildly, walking over to a shelf, straining her arm to pluck a volume from a great height. "This ought to help you."

"You could ask around the Saloon, perhaps. Or if you fancy working with a cash drawer and don't mind the smell from out back, you could work here. Having someone for the storefront would give me more time to work." Marcus offers, and glances over at the young girl, whose ears flick in time with those of the tiny raccoon with her, "And you, Fraulein, I would advise avoiding the saloon. Travelers are not always kind to young women travelling alone. I recommend hiring someone to travel with you, if you have the money to do so." Marcus cleans one of his guns while he talks, not looking up from his careful, efficient work.

"Ya, decided to travel to these parts to study some of the animal and plant life." Helios took the book from Emma "Thank you for the book. By the way do you know a place I can rest for the night?" Helios ask while sitting at one of the tables.

"I don't mind." Michael shrugged. He'd stood on the edge of the abyss, been puked on by countless horrors and been in the stomach of one. Working as a cashier couldn't be so bad after that. "I'll work your cash, since you need someone." Michael turned to Bonus. "I can take care of you if you like, while you're here anyway."
