Nyx was one of the happiest cats in the world. After her kittens were born, she had to remain bed bound for a very long peroid of time. She was at deaths door giving birth to the kittens that she now cared so much for. But the young, pink haired female had pulled through and looked stronger for the experience. She was told by the doctors who had helped with the birth and saved her life that she was positively never going to be able to have another litter. He had even explained how the first one had come about, which was a miracle in itself. So Nyx was simply savoring every moment she had with her miracle litter, extatic that she was able to fufil her role as mother. Jiji had also very much stepped up to the plate, being the most wonderful husband and father any cat could ask for. She had her own little family and although it was small and although she was young she was unbelievably happy with her lot in life.

On such a wonderful looking day she wanted to go for a walk and now that the kittens had grown a little older she could take them with him. Her sons were off with their father training, which her daughter was not too impressed about since she was left behind. To make up for this Nyx decided to take Ma-ku, her rather fiesty daughter for a walk with her to the park. The sun was shining brightly and the thin cat was delighted to be able to bask in the sun slightly, as she had seemed to grow more accustomed to it since her kits were born. She held onto Ma-kus hand as she walked along. The young calico kit held back, slightly miffed. "You know I'm a big girl Mama" she complained, her grey and pink hair tied up in a bun. "You don't need to hold my hand." Nyx looked down at her daughter and smiled. "I know I don't need to sweetheart but that doesn't mean that I don't want to." Ma-ku pouted slightly but was still happy with the reply from her mother.

Nyx wandered around the park slowly, taking in the scenery while still holding onto Ma-Kus hand. Since her daughter had been returned to her, through Jijis relentless searching, Ma-ku had been slightly more clingie than she used to be. Ma-ku was a very independent girl and had been since birth, very confident in her own abilites but since she had been returned to her mother she had become much more clingie and much less confident in herself. She was just happy to be home.

The calicos ears pricked, hearing a males voice somewhere in the distance. She looked up at her mother but Nyx was in her own little world, not paying attention to the sounds around her. Ma-ku listened more carefully until she was positive that the voice was calling for her mother. She pulled on Nyxs dress carefully. "Mama, there a cat calling for you." she said softly, her voice worried. Nyx looked down at her before listening more carefully. "Dracal?" she asked, her voice soft. "Dracal is that you?"

Nyx beamed when she saw Dracal coming around the corner. It had been a long, long time since she had last seen her adpoted brother, but then again it had been a very long time since she could actually leave the house. She waved brightly. She watched happily as he noticed her daughter, her chest swelling with pride at her offspring. She smiled happily. "Hi Dracal, long time no see! This is my daughter, Ma-ku." Nyx said brightly, squeezing her daughters hand as she introduced her. "Ma-ku, this is your uncle Dracal." she added happily.

Ma-ku looked at the toyger with her big blue eyes, which were identical to her fathers and clung closer to her mother but still smiled at the tiger. "Hello." she said quietly. "If your my mamas brother why don't you look like her?" she asked, bluntly.

Nyx blushed slightly at Dracals response. "Oh stop it Dracal, you're too sweet." she said, smiling her pale smile.It was nice to see Dracal again, especially since she had been bedridden for so long. Ma-Ku grinned up at the cat who was apparently her uncle. "I don't see the point of being shy Dracal." the young girl chirped. "When you're shy you just don't get what you want quick enough." she added. "I think Mama has told me about you before but I have so many uncles and aunts and grand uncles and aunts that it's difficult to keep track of who everyone is." the small girl said, smiling. "But no Mama never told me that. Wasn't that wierd though, because you were like brother and sister right?" Ma-Ku asked bluntly, her tail swishing.

Nyx laughed. She did think that she looked better than she used to. Her skin wasn't as completely and sickenly pale either since she could actually go outside for small parts of the day now. She was so happy that none of her children had gotten her sickness, which was one of the things that worried her so much while she was pregnant. Most importantly she was doing everything she could to be a good mother since she knew for a fact that this was the only little she would ever be able to have. Ma-Ku smiled. "Oh I don't trust people, I'm just not shy." she said innocently. "I'm not stupid enough to trust everyone I see." The grey and pink haired girl beamed. "I would really like that uncle Dracal!"

She smiled. "Yeah she really does love her family. Its still difficult to imagine how someone would have so many kittens and not going completely mental." Ma-Ku laughed. "But I'm very happy that I have such a large family though. It means that I'm never alone and that someone can only help me." The little girl listened to Dracal tell stories about her mother with wide eyes. She never really knew anything about her mother because neither her father and her mother told her everything. She went and sat down on his lap, wanting to hear more. "That would be brilliant Uncle Dracal." Nyx watched her daughter, smiling slightly as she did. She had always had the feeling that Dracal would be good with kittens but she had never seen it.

Nyx laughed at Dracals comment. "What can I say? She got the stubborness from my side and the bluntness from her father! I think it makes a rather charming mix in a little lady if I do say so my self." the female cat laughed. Ma-ku nodded with a smile. "I know that. But that means you'd be stupid to trust someone straight away right? If you have to earn trust then you should never trust someone straight away. But people like you more if you pretend to trust them. Ma-ku giggled slightly, smiling. "Of course I know that, silly, otherwise mummies and daddies wouldn't get together and become family." she said knowingly.

Ma-ku nodded. "I know she wasn't alone. She had you and she had my grandaddy as well. That's why family is important right?! Because it can help other cats get through had times." she clung to her mothers hand happily. She grinned. "I don't really like being on my own anyway so it's good that I almost get no privacy. It's more fun when there are lots of other cats around." Nyx smiled at Dracal softly. "Jiji and I were very lucky with this lot that they ended up so happy and healthy. After all I've never really been the most healthy cat in the world after all. So we're all very lucky to have a very healthy litter and having all of them not have my illness." she smiled. "There's no romance or beauty in illness. That's something that needs to be remembered I think. It was tough and hard and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy." Nyx said softly and then smiled. "I would have gotten in so much trouble if those wall could talk Dracal." she said with a light laugh.
