Athanase watched from the other side of the room, contently keeping his spot on the long, 'L' shaped couch, as his new contractor doubled over at her spot near the door. His expression held no hints of sympathy; his large smile and jubilant eyes remained fixated on Aurore.
The woman writhed on the floor, only several feet in front of him, and he did nothing. What was there to do? She brought this on herself, she should have known better than to dabble with demons in exchange for things, and she was foolish enough to do it a second time. Both times did she neglect looking into what the demons were or could have been, putting herself in, potenially, a huge amount of danger.
Tossing the lemon juice bottle to the side, now that he was content with it being empty, Athanase remained on the couch as his eyes explored his new surroundings. Rich kid; this much was obvious. The den was nicely decorated with many different expensive items, and just the way that the woman kept herself made it quite obvious. Well... not at the moment, anyway, with her crumpled onto the floor. One of her grunts of pain caused him to give her another glance. She had torn her stitches...
He watched as her very own blood covered her face and neck, oozing down and ruining the dress she had worn. Even if it wasn't exactly how she intended, maybe the blood from her newly re-opened wound would satisefy her for now.
Athanase stood; he was getting rather bored of this display.
His master, albeit quite pretty, was a huge idiot. She should never have allowed herself to sink to such a low, especially just to have a voice. Now he was here to replace this other demon. There was no way to get rid of him after this.
She was his.
Eyes shining, he had made his way back into the kitchen to get more food. His stomach growled loudly, sending a low, shaking rumble throughout his entire body. This was a sensation he didn't particularly enjoy. He had come to memorize where Aurore had put his lemons as he pried the refrigerator's door open and dove into the bottom produce bin.
Oh, a real treat; fresh lemons!
Tearing into them, peel and all, Athanase nestled himself into the bin. The cold didn't bother him at all, it barely even registered as he hapilly ate his newly found treasures.
Still able to hear the woman in the next room, moaning and groaning, Athanase's smile fell just a bit. Whether it was out of sadness or irritation, it was hard to tell. Whatever it was, he didn't like it. If only she would just shut up... He would be able to eat in peace!
Tossing a few lemons out of the container, he pushed them from the kitchen and into the den, not even worrying about closing the refrigerator door.
Lying on the floor in a pathetic heap, his woman had finally stopped moving as her breath became less tasking. Tears fell down her face, mixing in with the blood and small amounts of slobber that clung to her jaw. Athanase watched as Aurore's eyes fluttered exhaustedly. They were a strange shade of red, almost inhuman. He figured it to be because of the Wendigo; "Chiet," she called him. Her irises had turned an interesting purple color, but they were slowly fading back into her normal blue.
Athanase plopped himself down on the floor next to her, leaving the lemons between the two. His expression had returned, the smile wide on his face.
"Bed."
As a demon, Athanase had no real concept of time, but day and night were still quite obvious. The hands on the clock, though the imp had no idea on how to read the darn thing, were both pointed relatively up, and the sky outside was a lovely, dark blue. From what he noticed the past few nights, this was when Aurore would turn in for the night.
The woman's gaze landed on Athanase. A small, voiceless chuckle caused her torso to jerk once she had finished panting. It was hard to tell if she had laughed or if it was just another spasm, but Athanase's expression didn't change.
With a shaking hand, Aurore forced herself up. She almost fell a couple of times as she tried, but she made it without injuring herself further. Holding her hands open, she knelt back down slowly for Atha. Once he was securely in her arms, her spare hand picked up the lemons.
Before going to bed, the human had to change clothing, fix her stitching and close the door that Athanase had left open, but it wasn't long before both were contently nestled into their respective beds. Aurore fell asleep quickly, exhausted from the events that had just happened. Athanase could hear Chiet chuckle mindlesly inside the girl as he, himself, drifted to sleep.
