Ever had a milestone, like being promoted or a birthday on when you can finally do that one thing that you couldn't do before! (like driving rofl )
Well, I never really like the milestones...nothing seems to change but a number or title. Sad, isn't it? Quite so, for I will be 21 on the 23rd ( heart ) but I have class all day so it will be depressing.
What are everyone else's experiences with milestones--like being randomly or purposefully promoted to Capt. in a crew. p.o That always freaks me out. I personally don't like being Capt. unless I have too for some purpose. sweatdrop Did any of you get promoted but ended up doing a better job than the previous Capt.? Or was it an epic fail and the crew vanished after the Capt. left?
Hehe...don't mind fail post...I just miss everyone and I have been so busy. crying

Milestones you say? Well I wouldn't know for sure how that is like, I haven't had myself a milestone...yet to come. In a couple of months I will be turning the first milestone: 18! I know for a fact that more doors of opportunities and accepting "yeses" from the parents will open for me and embrace when this time comes around! I'm super stoked for this day to roll in and grow me just enough so I can do my own s**t for once! pirate
... dramallama That will be my reaction. xp

Haha, so you skipped the driver's license milestone?
Yeah, I much like that when I turned 18 and started going to college. I didn't expect you to be so young though, but I didn't get quite a good impression of you from the basement games--lmao. Are you hoping that your parental(s) will allow you to have the freedom that comes with that milestone?

My most recent milestone was turning 18 last summer. It was a disaster! Nothing really changed, and although I'm legally an adult my parents still treat me the same as they always have. I don't really mind, though. This coming summer I'm moving out, so I guess that's a milestone as well.
I'm generally not a bad capt. in zOMG! it's fun and I try keep the crew entertained. I had this great run with a crew awhile back in the Hive World. biggrin

Do you look forward to moving out? That is great that you want to keep the crew entertained. I think that is a great quality to have in a captain because then the crew members don't feel like it is a job.

The basement games, I understand what ya mean Stefiera, especially when you only type in about...a line...a post...for what? A mere joke. Makes sense indeed how you wouldn't catch that! smile And I have my LEARNERS already, but not my license, so I guess...turning 18 would be my second...I guess. In my honesty I am hoping muchly to the extent of actually letting my parents do what I wish, even if it is not that often. Actually...now that I look back on mah history of my life, the reason I got into video games (And eventually Gaia itself) was because my parents turned a blind eye on my friends. Their rule for friends pretty much means only when THEY are home is when I get to bring friends. But they come home at like, 3:00-4:00, meaning not only will I have to wait about an hour for my friend to come over, but I only get a whole 1-2 hours to spend time with them because of dinner! And if I was to bring a friend over without their permission while they ain't home...well, they'll get rather pissy. I know this because of what my sister has gone through before. She always brought friends over while the parents were away, and most of the time she got away with it. Comparing her ability to bring friends over to mine, I felt...lonely. Like I couldn't spend any time with friends at home because I'd upset the hand that feeds me and never have the chance to bring those over again. I HAVE had people over during their hometime, even a couple made surprise visits, and not too long ago, I snuck someone over myself, but even then I still didn't have the time to spend with. That's when I found video games. It was fun, portable, had many stories to tell, it was always with me, and didn't make me feel as sad. And so, here am I today, your average joe with glasses because his eyes got blurred from the video games everyday his whole life. ...SO! That is WHY I would be SO THRILLED when I turn 18! xp

Its good that you have your learners permit--I got my license when I was 18 so then I didn't have to do the driving class. lmao

Having some sort of freedom is nice. I sort of understand the "not having friends over without the parentals" but damn. You couldn't invite them to stay for dinner so you could have a proper friendship with the people you knew from school. I never like being isolated and without a few good friends while I was in school but I definitely loved my games. Especially the few that still work for for the SNES at my house. 4laugh

Hm, I sort of experience the "a sibling gets more freedoms than I did". I don't think its fair at all, because they can get away with stuff that you couldn't. Which one would think to be a big deal but sometimes the mundane things, like giving into one child's demands but ignore the other child's demands when they were that age. Parents should be fair--but it is up to their discretion sadly. crying

When I read this thread i start feeling old again stare I'm 25 now. Hmm milestones turning 18 and adult legaly changed not much I haven't done anything different than before blaugh But the birthday party was really good I celebrated 3 days ( the day before till night the birthday and that night and half of the next day). Guess the party was a reversed milestone now that I work I can't celebrate that much anymore I need my sleep.

I'd say my only milestone and my biggest one so far was overcoming my fear of the stage. (Thank you drama club) Next I'm working on finding motivation to talk to people I don't have any interest in. (Since it tends to be a lot of people. A lot of people are the same here from what I observe). I'll start learning for my permit when I turn 15 in July. C: As for a crew leader...I hate it when people promote me in SS or EB because I'm totally clueless. I'm pretty good with the other areas.
