Nothing. I usually spray it with a heat protecting spray right before I straighten it (which is almost always) but other than that, just shampoo and conditioner.

Alexaandraa chinotenshi Nothing. Not even shampoo and conditioner. Been trying the no-shampoo-no-conditioner thing that was bouncing round Reddit and whatnot around New Year's. Hair is the softest and most manageable it's ever been in almost 27 years. Also, I've had more students saying my hair smells good in the month or so I've been without shampoo or conditioner. really? hmmm i don't think i could do that. do you just rinse it or what? I go through the motions like I'm shampooing or conditioning my hair, but I just use water. I do the whole massaging the scalp thing, running my fingers through my hair like I'm trying to spread conditioner to every individual strand, etc. I even take a comb in with me and comb my knots out under the water. I was greasier than normal for about a week, then it evened out. Then again, it was easy for me to transition because I only used shampoo twice a week to begin with. I used conditioner everyday, but only shampooed Mondays and Thursdays.

I know it's better to shampoo/wash it less often, but it ends up smelling and being so difficult to work with. ;_; I think I may try this during the summer one week!

I know it's better to shampoo/wash it less often, but it ends up smelling and being so difficult to work with. ;_; I think I may try this during the summer one week!Try to slowly work into it, maybe? Like for the rest of this month only wash your hair 6 times a week (like maybe no shampoo on Wednesdays only?) then every month take it down one more day (So March would be No shampoo Wednesdays and Fridays; April would be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; May would be Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, etc) until your're completely shampoo free? You'd have to try no-shampoo for more than a week because it seems it takes peoples' scalps 1-2 weeks to adjust to the natural oils not being washed away every day. I notice in the shower that my hair feels more greasy and sticky because I'm used to the feel of conditioner making it silky, but once it's dry it's amazisoft with no greasiness at all. It also feels and looks less dried out. Summer will be a big test, though.

i try to wash my hair every other day or every 3 days. it takes so long for my hair to dry and then straighten it, it's not even worth it to do that every day. f that.
i'll try it in the summer. :> i'm afraid of the smell the most i think lolol

I was worried about the smell as well, but I've actually had more compliments that my hair smells good than anything. Hell, I didn't even tell Mario I stopped using shampoo and conditioner and he hasn't noticed my hair getting smelly or anything. Hell, I still think he may not know that I've stopped using shampoo and conditioner.

i condition it mainly, then shampoo it when it feels really greasy. but even then, i only shampoo my bangs and near my ears, and only the roots, too. i'm trying to stop shampooing entirely and only stick to conditioning, since my hair is so long, but every few days i kinda give in.. besides, shampooing makes my hair damaged and frizzy, and it's already frizzy enough on its own x__x
also i blow dry my bangs. that's it.
