I've been having wicked back pains for days now. I don't know what's wrong. I can't tell if it's a back injury or a kidney infection. I don't have a family doctor or medical coverage in this province so I'm... rather hoping it'll get better on its own.
I've been meditating and distracting myself as much as I can to get away from it in the meantime. If you can pray for some healing and the easing of pain, I'd appreciate it. Even finding out what's wrong so I can do something about it would help.

Can you describe and localize the back pain?(localize: tell me where it is?) I am a practicing(novice) apothecarian and may be able to offer some help. I specialize in herbal remedies. In the mean time I will send thoughts of healing and pain relief to you. *hug* heart

Um... it's in my lower back. Above where the pelvis starts I suppose. That's the annoying part of it. It aches like inflamed kidneys and that's just where it is... but it's not doing my usual UTI thing. confused

What might help, and I am speaking from some experience, is doing simple yoga exercises to relieve the pain, and getting a hold of some antibiotics. Herbal antibiotics like Sage, Calendula, Peppermint, Thyme, Aloe Vera, Ginger, and Garlic are good to help boost your bodies immunity, cleanse the system, and in theory allow the body to purge itself of any infections. It would be preferred to use them in teas, and drink them often. Especially in dealing with kidneys. Now, I am not saying you shouldn't try to get it checked out, or look into other medicines, these are just things that may help. I hope sincerely that you find relief soon, and that the issue gets better. =)

Hmm... I'll write those down. I'm sure I can put something together.
I've been taking cranberry extract and echinacea, some ginger tea now and again. It just really doesn't help when I have an over-active bladder that sends off the waaaaaughigottago eek at the slightest provocation. It's hard to listen to the body when it keeps messing up its own signals.
I'm going for some medical tests on Monday. I'll ask if they'll run a diagnostic. I mean... I'm there for an ultrasound, I'll be full of wee anyway. :eyeroll: If they won't then I'll just go to a walk-in clinic when I get back.

Ah, Cranberries tend to cause over active bladder to flare. Try to drink it every once in a while. It is good that you are getting a professional opinion. I hope everything goes well and it is something very minor that won't cost a lot. I have the same financial issue, so I understand your reluctance and frustration.

Yes, I've been reading about the effects of citric acid on overactive bladders. It's problematic though. If you're prone to UTIs they tell you to keep your acidity level up. If you have an overactive bladder, they tell you to keep it down. Does it not occur to these folks that people often have both? *sigh* Sometimes I think these medical "professionals" don't really know what they're doing.
