- ••Anti-Virus
- A program designed to fight malicious software and keep systems bug-free.
- ••Malware
- The general name for any malicious program. There are many types of malware, each with a specific function. Malware is almost always produced by regular citizens rather than large companies.
- ••Organotechnology
- This is basically technology that can be integrated into the real world: people, building, animals, etc. There are thousands of different types, all with different functions, and all can become the victims of malware corruption.
- ••Intranet
- A private computer network that uses Internet Protocol technologies to securely share any part of an organization's information or network operating system within that organization. Intranets are generally connected to the internet, but have their own firewalls and security systems to weed out internet malware.
- ••Internet
- The world wide web: the digital net that connects people all around the world. There is no security on the internet, no protection, and no firewalls. Be careful where you venture, for out there be monsters.
- ••Binary
- The basic computer language made up of 1s and 0s used to code all programs.
- ••Server
- For the purpose of this B/C, a server is a computer program, or physical computer itself, running as a service, to serve the needs or requests of other programs (referred to in this context as "clients") which may or may not be running on the same computer.
- ••Network
- A collection of computers and devices interconnected by communications channels that facilitate communications among users and allows users to share resources.
- ••Mainframe
- Powerful computers used mainly by large organizations for critical applications, storage of bulk data, and hosting multiple networks and operating systems.
