The Story of the First Two Original Vampyres (Ulrik and Markus)

A long time ago there were two brothers, Ulrik and Marcus. Ulrik was the eldest, 17 years old. Markus was the youngest, 12 years old. The brother's decided they wanted to go out and hunt for their family. Their father had taught them everything they knew. Ulrik was more skilled than Markus, but not by far.
"Ulrik!"
Markus called after his brother. He ran as fast as he could to keep up with his brother, panting hard he saw his brother stop.
"Ulrik?" He whispered.
His brother turned around and looked down at him. Ulrik put his pointer finger to his lips and made a "shhh" sound then pointed out toward the trees. A doe was eating grass as they crouched behind the brushes. Ulrik quickly drew a bow and an arrow. He stood there quietly to be sure he did not scare the animal. Dinner was on his mind, boy was he hungry. Once he centered himself and was focused on the animal he let the arrow fly through the air, hitting the doe square in the chest. As it fell over, Ulrik jumped over the bushes and ran to his kill.
"See Markus, this is the kind of shot you want to make."
Markus looked down at the doe that had been shot by his brother. The arrow had went through its side and into its heart. Surprised, he looked at his brother.
"That was a great shot Ulrik! I wish my shots were as good as yours."
Ulrik looked up at his brother and smiled. He stood up and hugged Markus.
"You are as good as me," Ulrik reassured his brother. "You just need a little practice, maybe about thirty minutes a day should be good and then you'll be better than me." Ulrik chuckled and released his hold on his brother.
"Come, let us take this doe home for mother and father. They will be proud."
Markus nodded and watched as his brother bent down to look at the doe once again, he watched as Ulrik placed a hand upon the doe's chest. Then heard him say:
"A fine meal you will make for my family. I thank you for your nourishment and health."

With that, the brother's picked the doe up and put it on their small wagon ready to take it home, along with the squrriels and rabbits they had acquired early in the day. Markus walked around the wagon and patted their mustang, Gladius.
"Good boy," he patted the horse, reaching into his pocket he pulled out a sugar cube.
"There you go, Gladius. Thank you for staying here while we went on our hunt."
Gladius neighed and shook his head up and down. Ulrik walked around the back end of the wagon and smiled at Markus.
"Ready brother?"
He asked and climbed his way up to the reins, Markus followed.

The boys made it home early enough for their father to greet them. Ulrik stopped the wagon as Markus jumped out and ran up to their father, Solomon. Solomon looked at his boys with pride in his eyes. "Hello boys, what have you brought us for dinner?" he asked as he hugged Markus tightly. Ulrik had just approached his father and brother when his father had asked a question.
"A doe, four squirrels and six rabbits."
"Ah! Wonderful! That should be able to feed us for at least three weeks time! You boys did well!"
Markus and Ulrik stood back and smiled at their father, then that was when their mother, Keira, walked out of the house.
"Mother, you look lovely, as always."
Ulrik approached his mother and hugged her, then kissed her cheek.
"Oh Ulrik, you always know what to say. You will make a fine husband some day."
Keira released her eldest son to look at her youngest, Markus.
"Don't worry, Markus dear, you too will make a fine husband."
She giggled softly and hugged her youngest son tightly. "Let us go make dinner. Solomon, could you skin the critters for me while I tend to Gypsy?"
Gypsy was their dairy cow, a huge black and brown cow. When Markus was younger he always thought her milk would come out like chocolate milk. His family spent years trying to tell him that it was just regular milk. Though he was older now and understood, so to their luck they no longer had to explain it to him.
"Of course, my love. Boys, go wash up. Once you boys have cleaned up I want Markus to go help mother and Ulrik to gather fire wood."
Solomon gave his boys specific instructions, he couldn't help but to smile proudly of them. They were smart and brave, listened very well too. He watch everyone clear out then that was when he too cleared himself out to care for the animals.

Ulrik

The sun was still at mid-sky, signalling it was still about noon, just a little after it actually. Ulrik had finished washing his hands and changed his clothes. He was covered in blood when he lifted the doe and other animals into the wagon earlier that day. Feeling a bit fresher, Ulrik went back down stairs and headed out to the trees to cut some down for their fire for tonight. . .
Time passed quickly as he chopped away at the trees, he had taken their mule, Maco, with him to carry the bundles of wood back. Ulrik had finished gathering his last bundle of wood. Taking some twine out of Maco's saddle bad, he tied the twine around the wood then threw it in the smaller wagon that was made just for Maco to pull. He patted the mule and smiled.
"Ready to go home buddy?" He was getting ready to lead Maco home, when he heard a noise in the trees. . .
Ulrik pulled his dagger out of its sheath that was attached to his hip for a quick draw. He pointed it in the direction of the noise. As he walked away from Maco and further into the treeline, Ulrik felt cold and it had gotten darker. It was dusk now, a time of night he knew was not safe, due to bobcats, and mountain lions. Getting closer, he could hear growls and scratching.
What the hell?
He pulled a branch back, quietly, to see some creature eating a coyote. Quickly, he pressed his back against the tree, making sure he wasn't heard by whatever the creature was. But curiosity got the better of Ulrik and he peeked around the tree. Once he did the creature was no longer there and neither was the coyote he just saw. Shocked, he stepped around the tree and looked around. He knew he wasn't hallucinating, he had saw that creature eating the coyote. Confused and a bit frightened, Ulrik turned around. His eyes widened with fear. The creature that had been eating the coyote was now standing in front of him. It had blood shot eyes, it's skin was so white that it was almost translucent. It was completely naked with no hair any where on its body. There was no sign of male or female of this creature.
Fear reached Ulrik quickly, he turned to try to run, but it was too late. The creature had lunged for him and they went rolling around on the ground. The sound it was making was so horrible that he could not even describe the sound. It was just screaming and trying to snap at him. The teeth reminded him of something between a shark and a wolf. All Ulrik knew was that he was terrified and wanted to go home.
"Get off of me!"
Ulrik screamed with fear within his eyes and voice. That was when everything went blurry, Ulrik couldn't scream, cry, kick or anything. All he could feel was the creatures teeth in his neck, his eyes were loosing color. He was dying, was all he could think of. His body laid limp and his eyes began to close. There was a warmth that he could feel in his neck, but could not do anything about it. All he could do was just lay there. . .

Markus

The youngest son of Solomon and Keira was helping his mother with their dairy cow, Gypsy. He helped his mother milk her, they each grabbed her utter and pulled on it one at a time. When one got tired the other started in their place. Markus was having a good time helping his mother. They laughed and joked, also just talked about anything.
"So Markus, how was your hunt with Ulrik today?" Markus looked up to see his mother smiling at him, it was her turn to milk Gypsy.
"It was great mother, I got all the squirrels. Brother got most of the rabbits and that doe. He's amazing mom! You should have seen him today!" He exclaimed with pride for his brother. Markus looked up to Ulrik, he was his role-model. He wish to be everything Ulrik was, his brother knew everything and anything. He loved his brother dearly.
"Oh dear, you are just as good as your brother, I'm sure he's told you that. But it is true. You are just as good as a hunter as he is, you did hunt all the rabbits didn't you?"
She smiled at him, as she handed off Gypsy's utters to Markus.
"I sure did mom!"
Markus laughed and began to milk Gypsy. Then he heard a bunch of commotion going on outside.
"What is that?"
Together him and his mother got up to walk outside. When Markus poked his head out Maco was running back to their homestead in a frantic. Markus ran up to him and raised his arms out to calm him. Grabbing the mule's reins, he pulled his head down to him and petted him gently.
"Shhh, it's ok Maco."
Then he looked to the tree lines, he saw something white run off. What is that? Then he realized that Ulrik was in that direction. "Mom! I don't see Ulrik, Maco is here without him!" Fear started within Markus. Where was his brother? Is he okay? Frantically, his mother ran for Solomon.
"Solomon! Solomon!"
Markus could hear her call his father. Then his father came running out of the hut with his gun.
"Markus, lets go. Keira, stay here. Go inside and lock the house up. We'll be home soon. Don't open the door until you see us or hear us. Okay?"
That was when Markus and Solomon ran for the tree lines. . .

Markus

They reached the tree lines and crouched behind trees and brush. It was dark outside, the moon was covered by clouds. It was beginning to scare Markus. He looked to his father in fear.
"I don't see Ulrik. . ."
Markus wanted to cry, his brother went missing. What was he going to do without him? He could barely stand the thought of loosing him. Then his father spoke up.
"There."
Solomon pointed to a abnormally large white oak tree, Markus followed his father's gaze and point. There, laying on the grass was Ulrik. Markus jumped around the brush and ran up to him not caring if there was a dangerous animal around. He skidded on his knees to a stop then that was when it hit him. Markus began to hyperventilate. His brother laid there, eyes closed, covered in blood. His throat had been torn out on the side. Markus could hear his father run up to them.
"Oh God. . ."
His father bent down next to his eldest son and wept. "No. . .My son. . ." he cried and cried. Markus did not know what to do, but cry himself. Sobs escaped both men as they sat next to Ulrik's lifeless body. Several moments had passed when Markus saw his father's eyes. They were red and puffy, much like his own.
"Markus, let's bring your brother home. . ."
Markus nodded his head and together they carried Ulrik's limp and lifeless body home.
Keira opened the door when she saw them, her smiled was bright and wide. But when she saw that her husband and youngest son was carrying her broken and bloodied Ulrik, she sobbed.
"My baby!"
She cried and ran to them.
"My poor baby! What happened to him?" She screamed, the two of them couldn't speak. They took Ulrik inside, he saw his mother teary-eyed and frantic placed a sheet over the table. "Lay him here," she told her husband. So they did. Her hand touched her eldest son's forehead.
"Mom, I don't who or what did this to him. We found him like this," Markus explained to his mother in a very low and airy tone. He really did not know what had happened to his brother. . .Maybe that white creature killed him? Still tears fell from eyes to his cheeks then dripped off onto the floor. All his mother did was weep as much as they did. Solomon had his arms wrapped around his wife.
"In the morning, we will care for his body and bury him," Solomon spoke more to himself then to Keira or Markus. But they all nodded and walked into their den to sit down. While Ulrik's body laid lifeless upon the kitchen table.

Ulrik

A small gurgling noise happened, not too loud though, it was only loud enough for anyone in the room to hear. But following the gurgling noise was a crack. Then a gasp. Ulrik had awakened. He laid there breathing hard and blinked rapidly to get his vision back. His eyes stung and his body ached a little. Ulrik laid there, gasping for air. Then he heard noises.
"Ulrik!"
His eyes shot around the room, movement was limited. Then his brother came into view, his brother was shocked.
"You're alive? But. . ." Markus could barely speak. "But you were dead! I saw you laying there! No heart beat!"
Then his mother and father came rushing in,
"What is it Markus?"
All Ulrik could do was just lay there and look up at his family. His mother and father, also in shock, stared down at their son. A tear fell down Ulrik's cheek, then his mother went to his side.
"I don't know what happened Ulrik, but it will be alright."
His eyes still stung, Ulrik still felt tired. He raised a hand up to Markus and his brother was instantly at his side.
"What is it Ulrik?"
Ulrik could not speak, just grunt. But he pointed up as if telling them to take him to his room. And so they did. But when they laid Ulrik on his bed, he screamed. They didn't know what was happening until Ulrik began to sizzle. They quickly ran to every window in the room and shut the curtains. It was the sun. The sun was burning him. He laid there panting.
"Mar...k..k..us." He called for his brother, again his brother rushed to his side. "I. . .I...don't..kno..w... wha...happened..." He breathed deeply. "But...I.. wa...was... a..attacked..." Ulrik didn't know what happened. But he did know he was attacked. By what? He had no idea. "Attacked son?" Solomon approached Ulrik. "By what?" Ulrik gasped deeply to breath. "S..s..something...w....white. Not..hu..human..Not.. animal." Then he laid limp in his bed.

Markus

"So, if not by a human or an animal. . .Then what could he have gotten attacked by?" Markus asked his father and mother. He was terrified for his brother. His brother was completely healed except for a gash that was now a scar. His brother was breathing, they all sat in the room with Ulrik as he rested. Markus had no idea what had happened to his brother while he was in the barn helping their mother with Gypsy. All he knew that it was completely bizzare. Markus looked to his father for answers, his father sat there and thought. . .Then his father spoke.
"Your grandfather always spoke of a creature in the woods when I was a kid. I never believed the stories my father use to tell me and my siblings."
This interested Markus. "What stories? What did Grandpa tell you?" he asked curiously. This could help Ulrik, Markus needed to know. Then his father began telling the story. . .

Solomon

"When we were children, your grandfather told us stories of a white creature in the woods. The creature only came out at night. My father discovered this one night when he and his brother went into the woods. Though not attacked, they were up in a tree when they heard the screeching, scratching, and the sound of something tearing. My father said they looked around to see a poor human kid being attacked, a male to be specific. He described the creature as white, nearly translucent, no hair any where on it's body, and no specific gender, oh, and blood shot eyes. They called it "padaras" which means "creature" in Luthuanian. But my father and uncle stayed in the tree, they saw everything. The Padara left the boy there, lifeless. Like how we found Ulrik."
Solomon sighed, talking about his son being broken and lifeless when they found him nearly had him crying once again. But he quickly got himself together and continued with his story.
"They took the boy home to your Great Grandparents home, but they boy did not come back to them. He remained silent and broken. Lifeless as they buried him. So from what Ulrik had briefly told us, I believe this creature is some sort of unevolved human. Like it was in the process of evolving into a human it evolved into some sort of blood sucking, man eating beast. I guess we'll see what Ulrik says when he has rested."

Ulrik

Two days have passed, it has been quite rainy and cloudy out. So the windows were opened to let in a fresh breeze. Ulrik opened his eyes and realized the window was opened, he quickly darted off the bed into a shadow corner of his bedroom. "Ulrik?"
Markus looked at him. "It's okay, the sun is not out. You're safe. It's been raining for days."
Ulrik watched as Markus approached him, everything was clear. His vision was ridiculously good, he peered out the nearby window. He could see a squirrel in a tree almost five yards away. Ulrik listened next, he could hear the squirrel chattng up a storm with its mate. Then his incredible speed to get to the shadowy corner. That was when he reached up and touched his throat. It's healed. . . Ulrik could feel some ridges, scars?
"Markus, what happened?"
His brother shrugged and looked to his brother.
"You tell me. We found you laying on the ground near an random oak tree with your throat torn out. What happened before then brother?"
Markus walked over to Ulrik's bed and sat down. Ulrik sighed and followed his brother to the bed. He needed to gather his thoughts and memories up. What had happened? He remembered getting wood around noon and then getting ready to leave around dusk when... He remembered everything. Ulrik looked to his brother.
"I was attacked, by some creature, Markus. I don't know what it was." Ulrik really did not know what it was, he's never seen anything like it. For as long as he has been in those woods, he's never seen anything remotely like it. But to his surprise Markus asked, "What did it look like?"
Finding it weird that Markus wasn't freaking out, he just simply explained what it looked like.
"It was white, like almost see through, his eyes were blood shot, no hair, and I couldn't tell if it was female or male."
Markus sat there for a second in silence then said.
"Padara."
Ulrik gave his brother a weird look of confusion. "What? That makes no sense, what is a Padara?" He asked, "Markus, what's going on?"
His brother looked into his eyes. "It's the name grandfather gave the same creature that attacked you that had attacked another boy many years ago. Him and Great Uncle Lucas called it Padara, it's Luthuanian for "Creature"."
Ulrik needed a second to soak all of the news in, "So what you're saying is this Padara was the same creature that attacked me?"
Markus nodded "and the only one to live. The other boy did not come back, he remained dead."
Ulrik rubbed his temples, it was a lot to take in.
"This means, I'm the first to. . ." His enhanced abilities. His speed, incredible eye sight and hearing. What other things could he do?
"I saw you move so quickly to the corner. You are different now Ulrik. I don't know what you are, but I do know you definitely look the same as before. I think the Padara gave you some sort of enhancements, because I surely couldn't move as fast as you did to get to that corner."
Ulrik kept asking himself what was he? Why him? But as the days went on, he did different things with his abilities, he hunted, practice his archery. Out swan his father, his father was a way better swimmer than he. He could even lift up the wagons without any hesitation. Though as the days went on the sensitivity to sunlight decreased, but he became restless and hungry. . .

Markus

A few months have passed now, Ulrik was still himself. Well, except the enhanced abilities. Which made Markus very happy, he still had his brother. He was so scared that he had lost Ulrik the day Markus and Solomon found him. It was endless tears and the pain of loss. Markus thought he wouldn't be able to handle such tragedy. A thought of suicide had reached him that night his brother died, he was getting ready to tell Ulrik, as he laid there lifeless, that he was going to join him in the Afterlife when he saw his brother with his eyes opened and breathing! It put so much happiness within Markus that day, he barely left Ulrik's side while he rested.
"Markus, dear!"
Keira called her son, she was making a lovely breakfast of eggs and pork patties. It smelled delicious. Markus ran down the stairs to greet his mother.
"Good morning, Mother. Everything alright?"
Markus sniffed the air. "Oh yum! It smells and looks amazing!"
He hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek.
"Could you set up the table for me, Markus? The food is still cooking and I don't want it to burn." Keira smiled at her son when he agreed to help.
"Of course," Markus headed over to the cabinet where the homemade pottery lay. Keira was very talented she could cook amazing dishes, make pottery, tend to the garden without killing a thing. She was an amazing woman of many talents.
He picked four of everything out of the cabinet. Plates, bowls, forks, knives, spoons, and cups.
As he set up the table, Ulrik walked in.
"Smells good!"
He had a bright smile on his face and walked over to help Markus set the table. Markus smiled up at his brother. "How did you sleep, Ulrik?"
His brother sighed, "I didn't. I've become restless."
Then Keira walked over to her sons.
"I'm sure it is just a phase, Ulrik, dear. This new "you" will need some getting use too." She hugged Ulrik tightly, and then walked back over to the counter to cut up more pork to make the patties. As she cut the pork, the boys continued to set the table.
"Ow!"
Markus turned to look at his mother. "Mother are you alright?"
"Yes dear, I-" Her words were cut off. He looked to his right and Ulrik's eyes were red, staring her down like a prey. Markus stepped closer to Keira.
"Ulrik?"
His brother did not reply, his eyes grew a deeper red like the color of blood. Then his eyes moved to her open wound on her finger. Keira saw where his eyes were going, she covered it slowly.
"Ulrik, sweetie..."
Then he lunged with great speed, then a sound of a gun was being cocked. Ulrik stopped dead in his tracks and turned to find the gun weilder was his own brother.
"Ulrik! Stop! I don't want to have to shoot!"
Then he saw Ulrik's eyes return to their normal blue color, he was panting hard.
"I...I..." He turned to his mother with tears rushing down his face.
"I'm sorry!" Then Ulrik ran out of the house, extremely fast.
"Ulrik, baby!" Keira called after him.
"No, mother, let him go. There is something off about him. I think it has something to do with his change. I'll go out and look for him after breakfast. You remain at home, don't tell father."
Markus was worried that his father may try to kill Ulrik, but in return get himself killed. He looked his mother in the eyes and she sighed.
"Alright, I won't tell Solomon. But find your brother, tell him I am not mad. Scared, yes. But never mad. I know he's different. I knew since he woke up the next morning after his attack. I knew his humanity wouldn't stay the same..."
Keira turned to the kitchen sink and cleaned up her finger. Markus returned the gun to its home beside the back door and sat down at the breakfast table.

Ulrik

"What is wrong with me!" Ulrik screamed to the sky. "Why did I attack my mother like that? She did not anger me, so didn't upset me..." Then he thought for a moment, "She was bleeding...I could smell it.. The sweet, alluring smell of her blood... My God! I am turning into a monster! How is this happening?" He stopped walking and looked around. Ulrik was standing in the same exact spot where he had been killed right in front of the huge, random white oak tree that stood in the middle of the woods. "That thing... That... Padara... It attacked me... It made me this way!" Furious his eyes turned red again. He quickly calmed himself. "I can't stay here, I'm a danger to my family. I must leave if I cannot control myself..." Ulrik leaned on the tree and it stung. "Ow!" It wasn't like the sun when he first woke up, but it defintely hurt. He walked over to the other trees, a pine tree, and touched it. Nothing happened. He leaned over and touched the oak tree again, it burned him. This must be his weakness. "The tree hurts me. . .Explains why I haven't been able to kill myself... I'm immortal, like a God. But no, not like a God. This tree is my weakness. No one must know, I will make sure this huge white oak tree is never found!" Ulrik planned on burning the tree down, but first carving two stakes out of it. Just in case he became irrational someone could put him down, or he would put himself down. Then he found some straw and sticks, quickly creating a fire. The white oak tree caught fire and burned. He quickly put the stakes into his bag.
"Ulrik!"
He turned quickly to see his brother, Markus, running towards him.
"Stay back Markus! You'll get burned."
He ran after his brother and pulled him away from the burning tree.
"You're going to cause the woods to burn!" Markus yelled.
But Ulrik just chuckle, "My intentions is to just burn this tree, don't worry. I'm burning memory is all. This was where I was killed by the Padara. It will help me sleep better." He smiled at his brother, hoping he would believe him. Though, Ulrik wasn't completely lying. Burning the tree would help him sleep at night. "I'm going to wait here until it burns out to make sure the fire goes no where else."
Markus sighed. "Alright, but I'm staying with you. I want to talk to you..."
"Yes?" Ulrik said.
"It's about mom. What happened Ulrik?"
"I don't know, Markus. I remember us setting the table and hearing an "ow," but something hit me and my senses were triggered, I'm guessing." Ulrik had an idea of what happened. . .
"Is it because you are different now?" Markus asked.
"I believe so, brother. I'm afraid I may be some sort of... Padara..." Saying that word made him feel sick to his stomach.
"You are not a Padara!" Markus raised his voice in frustration. "You are just different, but you are still my brother, Ulrik! No matter what!" Tears started to roll down Markus's face and dripped onto the Earth beneath them.
"Okay... not a Padara. But I almost attacked mom, the way that thing attacked me!" Ulrik also raised his voice as he pointed to the tree, resembling the Padara. Markus quickly wrapped his arms around Ulrik and hugged him tightly. "I was scared the night you died, Ulrik. I'm too young to be able to help mother and father the way you do. I know you almost attacked mom, but you are still my brother, like I said." Tears still flowed down Markus's face. Ulrik felt bad that he could not help his brothers tears. He felt bad for nearly attacking his mother. Ulrik knew he had to leave, but then, Ulrik could smell something. Something similiar to moms scent before he attacked her. Was Markus bleeding. He was! His wrist was bleeding, "Markus, what happened to you?" Ulrik stepped back with red eyes. "I fell on my way here, I saw the smoke and thought that was where you might be. I forgot about it." Then his eyes widened. "Ulrik, no." Markus shook his head back and forth as he backed away from his brother. But then it was too late. Ulrik had lunged and latched himself onto Markus's wrist. "No!" Markus screamed.
Over the pounding of Ulrik's own thoughts he didn't hear Markus scream and hit him. But he looked up to see Markus. Eyes closed and nearly white as death. Ulrik stopped drinking from him. "Markus!" he screamed and shook his brother. "Oh no...no..no..no" Ulrik picked his brother up and ran to the house.
"Mother! Father!" Ulrik screamed. Blood as on his mouth, but that matter not to him. "Mother! Father!" He screamed again. Then his parents came into view. "I'm so sorry... So sorry," he placed Markus down on the table where he once laid. "I blacked out.. I'm sorry!" Solomon looked at Ulrik "What did you do Ulrik!" He screamed. His mother cried and cried. "You killed your own brother!" Solomon screamed. "No.. I didn't mean too! He got hurt looking for me, I didn't notice it until he hugged me. Then I lost it! I'm sorry!" Ulrik turned and ran off again. He ran as quickly as he could back to the tree to get the ashes of the white oak. He had his bag and a stone box with him. He scooped up every bit of ashe he could find into that box and ran up the mountain and hid it to where no one could find it, but him.

Ulrik

It has been days now since Ulrik killed his brother, Markus. It's been quiet. The birds not been singing and the sky had remained dark since that day. It has been raining and cloudy. Much like the days after he was attacked. Ulrik sat in a cave at the top of the mountain. He did nothing, but sit. His expression motionless, then rustling of the leaves was heard. Not like wind blowing through them, but like someone walking through them. Quickly, he stood up and walked towards the entrance of the cave. His eyes became red and he stood there with his back against the wall of the cave. Ulrik listened carefully, he could hear gasps. The smell was familiar again. . .He sat there quietly. Then when the time was right he lunged around the corner.
To his surprise, it was Markus. "Markus!" Ulrik hugged him tightly. "I thought I killed you! You were so..." Then the scent hit him again, he stepped back to look at him. He was bleeding again except more. "Markus! You're-" Ulrik then realized, it wasn't Markus's blood. "Oh, Markus. . .What did you do?" Markus burst into tears and then into sobs. "Mother...father.. I..." His brother laid on the ground, his body shook with sobs. Ulrik sat next to Markus and held him close. "I'll take care of it Markus. It will be okay."
Ulrik then realized, his brother was just like him now. . .

So as Markus calmed down over the next day, the two of them went back to what was once their home. Emotions flooded through them. Ulrik told Markus to grab the most important things to him and then they were leaving. Ulrik did the same. He went inside to grab a photo him and his family. Then a couple of other things as human treasures. But before they left, he grabbed their mothers wedding bands. She always wore two, so that one day each of her sons could give one to the love of their lives. So he picked them gently off her finger and went to his father and did the same. Except he only wore one. That went to their eldest son. That was their family tradition. Once they gathered what they wanted, they walked out of the house and set it on fire. To burn the past and start a future. They sold the animals in a nearby town then they fled before anything became sucipious. The brother fled until they found themselves a nice area to stay in, from there they created a home for humans called "Vil-lon" soon after, they created more vampyres. There was the start of five. Their families were the first after them. So that was how they created the Vampyre court to keep the other vampyres that were created in order. Many years went by and Markus decided to take some of the Vampyres and Fledglings to another part close to Vil-lon. He created Triali, then Daeru, followed by Baelin, and Nai-rah. Markus decided to reside in Daeru. To help keep things in order within the Vampyre community. Baelin stayed Neutral though, they were there for housing for rouges and refugees. Eventually Lyemar was created, because some of the rouges and other vampyres did not want to follow the rules of Vil-lon anymore. So some went there as well, but that was where Baelin came into play, they took in the ones who wanted out of Lyemar after they saw the terrors there. That is where they went to gain the trust of the court again. Now, Vil-lon is as it is today. . .
