Do you find yourself drawn to any particular tools of the trade, so to speak? such as do you prefer wands over athames or vice versa? Is there something symbolic you always try to include in your ritual, or perhaps something you don't have that you really want to try out?

I'd love to attempt using a smudge stick. I know how to do the Australian Aboriginal smoke ceremony, which is basically the same in principal, only, it's not one of the greatest things to do indoors...

hmm what do I do? Well I use both a wand and athame. I just feel out which would be better for what I needed it for. I usually use the athame if it's for a desire....like a want, where I need strength. I wand usually comes out if I need it for a wish, like when I need compassion. I hope some of that makes sense.
I also like to use a sage smudge, though I am without since I sacrificed mine to help a fire continue to burn for the summer solstice (or was it boredom, or was I being silly?). I like the sage smudge because it's smell is supposed to keep the negative spirits away.

Oh I forgot. I tend to use a bell like a period in my rituals. Does that make sense?

It makes sense to me. I've always wanted to try using a bell, see if I like the energy it brings. For me, I like my athame the best. It's energy goes well with my own, at least with the one I have. I tried wands before, but I just didn't feel it, not like with an athame at least.

I don't have an athame...I'm sort of torn between attempting to make one and buying one. I do use my wand though.
