I know most of us are smart enough to know scams when they see it, but it is still better to be careful.
I saw a lot of scams this July and in earlier times.
One of these would be in the forums. I don't know how it got there or if it is really a scam but sometimes a pop-up will say that you can't post in the forums as it will then ask for your username and password. Well, I just canceled it and posted quick anyway.
Another would be a fake Gaia. A friend of mine was given a link by someone who says the site will give an Angelic Sash. It looked like it did, but as she pushed it it said she was disconnected. She noticed the url was wrong so she got the person banned, but this person did something to have my friend banned as well.
A rather obvious one would be in that Avi guild that is quite well known. Someone said he would give them 800k or bump them if they get him one of his listed items. Too obvious of a scam, but I don't know if you'll laugh or something when some did believe him.
There are a lot of scams to name. Be careful not to be fooled by one now.

Ohh, you forget the ones where people in the GE trade send you an item that looks like the one you thought you were buying, and you aren't careful enough to double-check. (Like, you get a black rose band instead of a dark halo.)
And the one that troubles Gaia artists, where the other user cancels the trade after they receive the art, and there's absolutely nothing to be done about it.

That's very troublesome.
If the trader cancels the trade the artist could report him/her though.
But then time and effort is wasted for drawing someone that image.
Fine.
