Okay, I think I found the perfect way to explain my ideas.
My predicament is the same as Amber Skyes. I live in Kansas. CONSERVATIVE CATHOLIC FREAKS. I cant stand hearing my friend go "blah blah church blah god" All the time at the table. Half of them are radicals who I sometimes think will turn out to be one of those weird pushy people.
I dont believe in god. If he was real, he'd help with our life. That tends not to happen. I believe that if you give out good energy, you get good energy, as well as the same with bad. I believe that nature should be preserved, and yin-yang balance is actually true. That spirits can wander the earth, that limbo is real, and that the afterlife is real.
Only one of my friends shares that view with me, and she is a liberal. Like me.
I live on a military base in Kansas! I said I was a liberal once and was almost ripped to shreds by a group of super-conservative extremists. It was ridiculous and I had to stand my ground and take sh*t from them. A teacher who was standing behind them heard the whole thing, and they were all suspended for a week. Karma at work. What goes around comes around~

I'm a bit of an odd one. I believe in God and that if I do good, I'll go to Heaven. But at the same time, there is science. No not that scientology s**t, but actual cold hard science. Such as evolution. I believe in it to a point, something along the lines of God created us in steps, not just poof there is everything exactly the way it is today. Science actually supports God's existence as well. Like the atom, science says it should fly apart, yet it hold together. Can't ignore that can you? I also believe that every religion (except those nutjobs claiming to be Jesus or scientology) worships the same God, just in different ways.

Gundam Arashi I'm a bit of an odd one. I believe in God and that if I do good, I'll go to Heaven. But at the same time, there is science. No not that scientology s**t, but actual cold hard science. Such as evolution. I believe in it to a point, something along the lines of God created us in steps, not just poof there is everything exactly the way it is today. I also believe that every religion (except those nutjobs claiming to be Jesus or scientology) worships the same God, just in different ways. I am not trying to be an a**, I just feel the need to correct some of your mistakes. The Atom. To be completely and utterly, unmistakably honest; science says it should stay together. If science said it should stay apart, it would, or science wouldn't have said it in the first place. The electrons of an atom are bound to the nucleus by the electromagnetic force created by the presence of positively and negatively charged particles, like a magnet. Try Wikipedia, it's an excellent source. No, I can't ignore that. As for evolution, well... I'm not even going to get started on that since people tend to turn into drooling retards when the subject comes up. I can only assume that this is mainly because of the misconceptions that are linked with it. Man did not come from monkeys.... Period. We merely, through all proofs and observations, share a common ancestor with our fuzzy, s**t-flinging friends. But, as I've stated, I'm not getting into evolution and adaptation... I'd just like to say that you'd be hard-pressed to disprove it, and the presence of God in the creation of the universe is redundant since it would have created itself anyway(see my earlier post for the link to this reference). Personally, I think religion is a crutch and a way to keep children from misbehaving(like the boogey man); and this is fine, to an extent. I don't think it's wrong to use it this way. I just think that in some point in some peoples' lives, they transcend beyond the need for religion. I've grown past the point where I need an all-powerful figure to dictate my thoughts and actions. Some people still need it, will always need it, and that's fine. It just goes to show us how different people really are for one another, no matter if we're all made up of the same substances. The brain develops differently for each person. To sum it up: some people need religion to function, some don't. The only thing that really makes a difference is how you use this need. Human nature compels us to hate or fear that which is different from us, but I believe, that once you've transcended beyond this compulsion, then you've truly achieved happiness and you are truly one with yourself. Others may not understand, but all that really matters in the end is you and how you feel you've lived your life.

In a serious note though. What about when you die, what do you believe happens to you? LOL I love you, dude. On that serious note, though. Human life is energy, which, as physics has told us, cannot be created or destroyed, only moved from place to place. The energy that is within me now will still exist after I've died. While my body rots and decays the energy will move on. It's kind of like reincarnation, only not really. I don't believe that thousands of years ago there was a prehistoric Princess running around debauching people's beliefs. That's just ridiculous. >.>

Moroseth Anaratharach Kimanaio Erm. Well, I'm half atheist. If there is such a thing. I don't go to church, but every once in a while I pray. But I don't believe in heaven. I believe in the afterlife, and I think yin/yang, karma, and stuff are real. Then by definition you aren't an Atheist... Atheist basically means you believe in nothing, no unseen forces, no higher powers, no afterlife, no god, when you pray no one hears you, etc. WRONG. Atheism means you do not believe in a higher power. Nihilism is the belief in nothing. I am Atheist and religious.

Religion is the aliens that made us cover up. There is no god, just the mothership. "Forgive them. They know not what they do." He was trying to save us, because we were malfunctioning.
Also a poem, Religion is like a p***s Its fine to have one. Its fine to be proud of it. But don't take it out and wave it in public. And please don't shove it down my children's throats.
