I don't bother thanking them, I just won't take it or toss it in the trash. I don't say anything back because that wouldn't be polite. Though this is a Buddhist thread, not a Christian one, thus why I brought this topic up. Perhaps it is only because I am in America which is a very Christian oriented country.

Buddhists shouldn't be buddhists.

Buddhists shouldn't be Buddhists? That is like saying Christians shouldn't be Christian or Muslims shouldn't be Muslims. What does that mean?

The Christian tract minority is just really loud when they do it, and very in your face, because they believe they have to be in order to save you from damnation. In all honesty, they believe they're helping you avoid suffering by giving you an easier way to understand what they believe is the truth.
It makes me very uncomfortable when they try to force their flyers to me and it's hurts me more knowing why they give some people harder times then others when it comes to spreading their words. They see a goth walking down the block and automatical think I'm damned.

I never really saw the whole Buddhist thing in Star Wars until you pointed it out now. In fact I never think about religion when I'm trying to enjoy a moive or book. It took me all the way to the very last chapter of the Narnia books for me to finaily figure out that it was a chirstan book (people make fun of me for that).

Why can't I just enjoy a book about unicorns, magic and adventure without giving it connections to religion?

If you can, more power to you. It's a good thing sometimes to be able to detatch from things and view plot for what it is rather than all the subtext people read into it. 3nodding

It started out people that dressed like that actually did do a lot of bad things and cut themselves or worship satan. Nowadays the goth look is more of a fashion, but older people see goth looking people and automatically think its more likely that they are non-christians than other people. Please forgive their bad judgement. Its like this... if a lifeguard sees a guy drowning, then is he going to just sit there and let the person die, because they aren't sure whether the person wants you to save them or not? No, they would go save the person. Us, as Christians see you guys drowning and want to save you. Don't be hurt that they are trying to save you, because they aren't saying, "We're better than you." they are saying that they care about you, a stranger, enough to care whether the person goes to hell or not.
