So I'll repeat my request here, but you can also check my thread in the anime forum. But I'm doing a Panel at Acen about Folklore and Mythology in Anime and manga! And I'm trying to put together a good list of some cool references that I can use so that I can go through them and pick out my favorites and also provide attendees who are interested in the full list.
As such, if would help a lot if you could list some of the anime or manga that you know of that have references to folklore or mythology, and what those references are.
For example, today I was watching Soul Eater. In addition to the obvious reference to Shinigami (not actually a traditional Japanese myth, but one imported from europe) there's a weapon named Excalibur after the one from Arthurian legend and there's a ghost ship named Nidhogg with a sword named Ragnarok from Norse mythology.
