Introduction
Greetings everyone! My screen name is Dire Pious Flea, but please feel free to refer to me as Noah. I'm going to be playing the role of the professor, or teacher in this subforum. You can think of this place as a roleplaying school of sorts. See, I've wanted to RP in this guild for a while now, and no offense to anyone but I haven't really felt that all that many RPers here knew exactly what they were doing, or weren't operating to their full potential. I aim to try and fix that. The entire purpose of this place is to help you achieve the potential that I know every one of you possess.
But first, allow me to introduce myself.
I've been a member of Gaia for 7 years spread out across four different accounts. I have however, been RPing for 9 years in total. My RPing began in a rather surprising place, the Pre-Game chat rooms of Starcraft Battle.Net, and let me tell you, it was very different. When I discovered forums that all changed. First, it was on the now defunct Nintendo.Com Forums. There, I took part in several RPs, and managed a good handful, like the 'Battle Bar: A Custom Robo RP'.
Then, on May 3rd, 2003 while browsing Newgrounds, I saw a banner ad for GO-Gaia.com. It peeked my interest and I clicked the link, lurked for about an hour, and finally signed up. My very first destination was Barton Town, where I immediately signed up for a few of the still small numbers of RPs back in Gaia's new days.
By far the most successful was one called Mistress in The Mist. While initially it had a rather arbitrary plot about a princess who had to pick her prince out of a large number of suitors, it eventually degenerated into a 9,000 page long epic tale of war, heroism, love, loss and evil. The princess became more of a background character, more members joined up along the way, the size of our party of heroes fluctuated like a bad electrical current and real villains appeared. With it we also gained a fanbase, people wrote fanfiction about our characters, drew fanart, it was great fun.
But, like all RP's, Mistress in The Mist ended eventually. The big bad was defeated, the heroes went separate ways. But it was here that I was recruited into one of what was Gaia's largest and most prominent RPing guilds: RP's Unlimited. Until it's collapse mid-last year RP's Unlimited bolstered the largest number of members and the largest number of threads of any other RPing guild, and I was proud to be it's Vice Captain.
Since it fell under I've spent my time wandering from RP to RP, never finding one that truly interests me. I'm also however, a massive One Piece fan, which is why I'm here.
In real life I'm 21 years old, and a professional science fiction author. I'm also attending Columbia College of Chicago and majoring in Fiction Writing.
