[ I'm not entirely sure whether this goes in the Theatre of War or on the stories subforum - but I'm letting you guys join in if you'd like, so it's going here for now. ]
'Guys! Wake up! We're coming back! Come on!' Justice came to in a heap of trash. It didn't take her more than a moment to remember what had happened. 'Damnit! Damnit all to hell! You had to go and have your fling, didn't you?' Her anger wasn't helping any - Suzy wasn't there yet. None of the others were. Now it was going to be her job to get them out of Suzy's mess. She tried to stand, bit the way her legs shook, all she did was knock over a heap of trash beside her - the racket continued as it slid all the way to the ground. She paused. "tyak gkat-t," a voice growled out from the gloom. "gkep nkek-p, Rkatap. gkat inshet fterg-t." "pnyak etep-p." The voices faded away, with accompanying footsteps - footsteps that clicked. Justice let out the breath she'd been holding. Then she felt her neck tingle. She turned to see a dark-eyed creature looking down on her. "ktern, aror gkerr," it said, it's foreign tongue gravelly. Before she could react, she was out like a light.

'Guys?' Minnie forced herself awake, only to see a dozen pairs of legs all around her. She tried to push herself to her feet. "ged-g-kant! figzed aror talymach!" Thwack.

Justice came to again. Minnie was stirring feebly in the back of their mind; the others were still silent. Her wrists and ankles grated uncomfortably against two sets of shackles. When she moved, they rattled against the cold metal wall and floor. "ktern." Justice jumped. In the doorway of the room stood an alien - tall, and dark. It's eyes were black, and where there should have been pupils, bright white. Three headtails sprouted from the back of it's head, moving every now and again. "tyak inshat aror?" "nt-inshat-g, Nt-Oktien," a second alien responded from the corner of the room - it looked much like the first. "What's going on?" Justice cried, outraged and fighting against her shackles. She tried to get to her feet, but they were still quite unused to walking. The first alien, from the doorway, blinked. It's headtails rustled, and it turned back to the second alien. "etep nt-inshat aror-p," the alien growled, the tip of one tail twitching. "nt-inshat-t!" the second exclaimed, it's tails rustling as the first's had. The first purred, then turned back to Justice, kneeling down to meet her eye to eye. "ktern, aror. tyak gkep-p?" "I don't know what you're saying, but you'd better let me out of these chains," Justice growled, wishing impulsively for her sword. The alien had a fearsome set of claws, to say the least. "gket zaror-g," the first remarked. Justice listened in frustration, tugging at her chains. The first turned back to scold her. "nt-inshep. nken aror-n, Shter. figzep Arkier." "sht, Nt-Oktien." The second left, leaving the first alone with Justice.

"p-gkep zaror." "I keep telling you, I don't understand what you're saying!" "nt-etep!" the alien growled, grabbing Justice's chin with two fingers, it's claws extended. Little rivulets of blood peeked from behind it's claws, sliding down Justice's neck. The alien took it's hand away, blinking rapidly. "ktern, Nt-Oktien." The alien stood and turned around sharply, and then relaxed upon seeing another of it's kind - this one with two headtails instead of three, and lacking the horns of the first. "ktern, Arkier. gket zaror-t." "sht, Nt-Oktien." The new alien turned and waved feebly at Justice. She only stared back. "Nnn... hello, alien. Am - I am Arkier." Arkier's voice was thick and gravelly, but Arkier was speaking Justice's language, a marked improvement over the other two. "You know my language?" "Y-yes, understand I. Nn - I understand. That is correct speak?" "Yes, that's right, but -" "I learn alien speak - nn, from aliens. Is taking long time, it - n, speak is difficult. Captain - nnn, kke! My captain, is Nt-Oktien." Arkier's headtails waved at Nt-Oktien, the first alien. "G - nn, she, sht. She speaks question, nn, for you?" Is difficult to - translate. Speaks she, alien is here - nn, why is alien here? Apologies, I not - do not have correct speak, often.""Never mind that," Justice said, waving her hand at Arkier. "I'll answer that question, if she'll answer mine first." Arkier paused to translate what Justice had said, making gestures with his hands to help him remember. "Yes?" Arkier said at last. "You have question - nn, what is?" "Why am I chained like this?" Justice hissed, tugging on one with her left arm. "Given chains - not want, n, you attacking." "Peachy," Justice groaned.

"Peachy? Speak meaning - nn, translate of 'peachy'?" "Nothing important," Justice snapped. "Just get me out of these - these damned shackles!" "Nnn... nt-zgeret talymach-g," Arkier said, assumably to Nt-Oktien. 'tyak nt-figzer talymach aror-r," Nt-Oktien responded. "trket-nzernn ger-r aror." "trken nken-g, Nt-Oktien." Nt-Oktien narrowed her eyes, watching Arkier. Her tails twitched. "sht. sht, Arkier. nkep-g-p. shke get-g... p-gkiep-pkark." "sht, Nt-Oktien," Arkier said. Nt-Oktien assed him a key, looking at Arkier meaningfully. "gker grrg-r. gket zaror-g." "sht, sarken-n." Arkier turned to Justice - still impatient and struggling at her shackles - and began to speak again. "Nt-Oktien speak, we not give you chains. I speak that I watch you, so you not attack crew. Please, not attack - nn, do not attack - if you attack, bad things happen to me." Arkier stuffed the key into the lock, waiting for the satisfying click that signaled it's unlocking. Click.

Justice rubbed her wrists when Arkier attended to her ankles. When the chains came off, she stood - she didn't trust this alien at all. She didn't turst any of them. She tried to look proud and powerful, with her head up high and her shoulders back - though she didn't make it up to his collarbone. Arkier, on the other hand, wasn't at all intimidated by her. He held out one three-fingered hand. "Come with!" he exclaimed. Justice put one tentative hand in his, losing her 'proud and strong' stance. She didn't trust him. But it was better than sitting there in that room.
