Myano The Satah Myano I was dubbed the "n00b translator" back awhile in Neopets, before everyone moved to the IFC. I have mixed feelings about that site. The people there are frickin' nasty. They're more n00b-hostile than Gaians. o-O There are more of 'em there, too. There are a lot of snobs there. o_O Not just snobs. That place is infested with bitches. domokun I stay off the boards there. ninja I admit to the occasional shortcut (lol, btw, etc...last one's a bit of a joke), but I never did the "u/ur" stuff. Like, never ever. Oh, and my talking inserts itself into my typing (hence the more-than-occasional "dunno"). I also admit to 1337 usage, but not so much on Gaia. ^.^

I used to...I think. I don't remember. gonk L337 is fun, but only on MSN for me. sweatdrop My friend and I were imitating people; she was being a n00b and I was speaking l337. It was fun. 3nodding

I used to. It was mostly just the basics, like "lol" and "i c". I've grown out of that now. Sometimes I'll slip up and type an "lol", but I'm moving away from typing like I don't understand English.

Mikakoh I used to. It was mostly just the basics, like "lol" and "i c". I've grown out of that now. Sometimes I'll slip up and type an "lol", but I'm moving away from typing like I don't understand English. Even when I was "literate" I still used "LOL", "OMG", "BRB" and "G2G". Now, I'm such a stickler I even stay away from those. Now it's "xD", "Omigod", "Be right back" and "Gotta go."

Not n00bish, exactly. It was more laziness than anything.

He turned me into a Grammar Nazi. ^.^ And I'm damn proud of it, too!

I have never used 'n00bish' words, or in other terms, chat speak. Just reading that sort of thing makes me get irritated or angry...very, very quickly. I usually make a move to correct such things...most of the time. ninja
Unless, of course, things such as "brb" and "gtg" count. I have never used "lol", though, or "omg".
I will, however, admit to using astericks when I first began to RP. I think that's a newbie sort of way to RP actual things (not OOC stuff), so I think that counts.
(In fact, a friend that I RP with and I still write with astericks in one thing that we're working on. ...But that's supposed to be that way.)

I've never really used the short forms such as "u," "r," and the like. They gave me a headache from the start and I thought they were a brutal butchering of the English language. So did the people I've chatted with the whole time I've been on the Internet, my first chatroom was a rather up-scale RP and it's OOC room, so they all tended to use the full spelling of words and if they didn't they soon learned not to use them too much or they'd be ignored. I do use OMG, LMFAO, and the like, but that's about it.
I can and will use the "n00b" speak to annoy friends of mine, because they know I can't stand it, but I can do it to them if they annoy me. I've annoyed enough friends by typing only in l337 if they start becoming too annoying with their netspeaking habits. I've slackened on the way I react to it in friends, though. ^-^ For the best, I think. Some of my friends type too slow as it is, and they'd go a lot slower if they had to type out the full words, sadly.
