In The Dark "In The Dark"
I've written songs in the dark I've felt inspired in the dark I hide myself in the dark Used to be afraid of the dark Those in the light know we die in the dark
There's only artificial light My flaws hide well here I used to be afraid of cluttered noises Now I'm afraid of silence
Fill this space Idle words I'm scared to death of light and silence Jesus heal me inside this Raise me up to live again Like you did, like you did
Now I am mute despite myself All of them are gone The silence overtakes me The idle words forsake me and I am left to face me I'm held accountable For every idle word Curse the idle words
I'm scared to death of light and silence Jesus heal me inside this Raise me up to live again Like you did, like you did
Glory shows up Exposes us I'm naked here Forsaken here, by the dark, by the dark Damn the dark
I'm scared to death of light and silence Jesus heal me inside this Raise me up to live again Like you did Like you did

I realize that Flyleaf is a Christian -desputed- band. They have many influences in thier music and lyrics through Christianity.
I myself, follow no set religion. I love this band simply because of the music. (And Lacey.)
If anyone has a problem with that, ******** you.
Music is music. Religion has nothing to do with how awesome and badass this band is. (As well as Lacey.)
The lyrics to these songs should be seen as inspirational, clean, and most of all, badass. Taking out all references to God, Jesus, and the whole sha-bang, the words in the lyrics made by (the incredibly awesome) Lacey Mosley and the rest of the band are stories of life, metaphors for situations we encounter in life, and how we can not let them keep us down, no matter how hard they may be.
This band -in my opinion- gives a much greater alternative to those who enjoy hard rock, heavy metal, or screamo music, without all the curse words and profanities about murder and other nonesense. This is good, clean music that is just undeniably badass. -Other such bands are Skillet, August Burns Red, Inhale/Exhale, and Underoath.-
I stand up for this band, because it's what I like. If you don't like it, awesome. Maybe it's just not your kind of music. That's kewl. I can't stand too much of one type of music myself. But don't come in here bashing this band or the genre because you just 'cannot stand so many references to God'. -Again, I have no religion and believe in no higher power.-
You know what, I can't ******** stand your ******** posts. ******** off.
That is all I have to say. (Did I mention my overly dramatic crush on Lacey?)

Reason number fifty-two of why I love this band:
The lyrics, style of music, and effects of said music are a great inspiration to my own production of music. As an audio engineer, I have a certain 'flavor' that distinguishes me from all others. Flyleaf is a perfect example of the music that I make and produce.
Performance wise, these guys are just awesome live.
There are so many bands out there that record great, but put on a dead performance or can't sing/play live. It sounds terrible.
But Flyleaf proves to be best at what they do, both in studio and on stage.
Lacey Mosley (ha! You thought I wasn't going to say her name. WRONG!) is a great influence on my own performance. Her stance, vocal works, ect are a base that I hope to achieve. My influences are also the guitar riffs, for they are deep, short, and echoing. Flyleaf is one half of my inspiration of musical performance. The other half would be My Chemical Romance, more specifically Gerard Way and Frank Iero.
But they don't get thier own thread.
That is all for now.

Ah, nice way to get on teh Captain's good side. Lol.
Hm, I'm upset. The band is touring with Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and then switch out BB for Chevelle.
And there are no tour dates in Texas.
Which sucks major balls because:
1. They are a band from Texas.
And,
2. I live in Texas!!!
*overdramatic sigh*
But it's okay I guess, because I probably wouldn't have been able to go, and they DID make the debut tour all along Texas and the West coast. I just missed out on that one, hoping they would come back this way.
Oh well.
Still love them. <3

Like Flyleaf? Like orchestral/instrumental/string reduxes?
Vitamin. String. Quartet. iTunes that business. WalMart that nonsense. Whatever it takes, GET YOUR HANDS ON IT.
Also look at some of the other bands they've covered:
Anything from U2 to Tool to My Chemical Romance. And then some. Check it out: I already have their covers of Tool, Flyleaf, several "Guitar Hero" favorites, and several more.
