Yeah, there's a Gatling Gun's worth of holes in the reflection debate, as Alucard is only half vampire, his mom was a human.
As referenced in SotN, when Drac tells him to let go of his human side and embrace general vamp-ness before Alucard tells him to go shove it(to put it lightly), kicking off the final battle of that game.
