The Official Fan Film has Arrived!: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xbg25m_the-hero-of-time_shortfilms
Ok so I don't know how many of you picked up on this before I decided to point it out to the masses. (After getting a random announcement from another Zelda guild I am in.) An independent film company has created a Zelda: Ocarina of Time fan film and the movie was finished on 06/06/09. They have been to New York, Washington, and are now in L.A. and have stated a public release date of 12/14/09. The movie is planned to be released on DailyMotion.com and a week later (12/21/09) it is planned to be released in a downloadable format.
Official Site: http://www.theherooftime.com/
Trailers and other good stuff: http://www.theherooftime.com/media/
Here is my spill: When I watched the trailers I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. A movie for OoC had always made me wonder whether it could be pulled off and made to look good. I will credit the group for their graphical abilities, but I cannot credit them for their camera angles. I fear the movie to come out tacky, but I will give it a chance.
Now everyone else: What do you think?

I am totally ready to give this a chance. I've actually had my eye on it the past few months, and I plan to watch it. I won't care if the graphics are bad as long as they stay true to Zelda.

That was an April fools joke unfortunately, though it seemed a bit better than the one that was for real, the graphical quality was better and things more accurate, though the character playing link may have been a bit better in the one that really is coming out. Maybe this will push forward an official Zelda movie. Though it isn't likely.

So I'm sad to say I was rather disappointed in the movie... it was rather dry, and VERY inaccurate. If they were going to make it "Ocarina of Time" they should have stuck to the storyline. This should have been another part of the series so to speak, rather than labeled after the game. If I had the time, money, and resources, I'd direct two different Zelda movies. One being Ocarina of Time, true to the story, just shortened slightly(still end up being a 6 or so hour movie) and a second movie being an off brand. Basically a movie compiling the whole world of Zelda, all of the fables, into a new story. Sort of a Master Story to Zelda. I'd have a blast directing it.

I was a bit disappointed honestly... not a bad movie, for amateurs, but it still didn't follow the story really... Honestly they mixed the Great Fairy of Power and the Sage of Fire into one character and made it look more like the fairy than even bothering with Darunia the goron. Not to mention the only "goron" was just some tall overweight guy that honestly looked Hawaiian to me. I wasn't exactly impressed.
