Question: what are heritage Festivals?
My band is going this year in April, and we get to go to disneyland for two days, and I think we are missing school too. I'm excited, but I am not quite sure what heritage festivals are...

It depends on the context. It could have to do with the heritage of the community hosting the event in which case, the musical performances are probably not the main point of the event. "Heritage Festivals" is also the name of a company that runs adjudications for bands to come to on overnight trips. Those can be good, depending on the quality of the adjudicators and whether or not your band does the masterclass (and if the teacher is a good one).

EEE this post made me so excited!!! My middle school band goes to heritage every year. We went last year and the year before that to the one in Anaheim. Scored sweepstakes, gold in all 3 groups, 1st, etc. Basically kicked butt. Now that I'm done bragging... sweatdrop
When our band went down, we performed on a Friday night, went to Disneyland for Saturday, then went to the awards that night. Depending on when you go, you probably will miss one day of school. But that's about it. And you will have a TON of fun because Heritage = amazing. The awards are great. There's music coordinated with fireworks and such. PLUS Merlin is there! (I got to hug him when we got our awards biggrin )

Scored sweepstakes, gold in all 3 groups, 1st, etc. Basically kicked butt. If I remember the basic itinerary, we will go to disney thurs wen we first get there, check into the hotel that night, we have eritage on Friday, and then disney again on sat. We will leave sat nihgt straight from disney and be home soemtime sunday morning. So we gett to miss 2 days of school! Yay!
