Asher was sunbathing, He hadn't really been out much lately so the hot sun felt amazing on his brown fur. He slid his eyes shut and let his breathing slow out to point where it was even and he was almost asleep. But he realized that this was no place to sleep no matter how good it felt to be there. He sighed rolling over so his stomach was now collecting sun.

A silent sigh escaped into the thinning forest, a set of piercing blue eyes gazing out from behind a brown mass. Externally, everything was still. The young she-wolf was sitting stoned and silent within the surrounding green underbrush. Through the trees, the sun's rays cascaded downward in an endless stream of gold. Linn's eyes ticked over these rays, watching the various almost untraceable particles sift silently by. For what seemed like a torrid eternity, Linn had been a slave to something she never quite grasped. She hadn't minded it, not entirely, as it was the only life she'd known up until that point. However, when things began to change within Gomorrah, the pack she once so fondly called home and bravely boasted of, her eyes began to finally open to the broader world she was just seconds before completely blind to. Certainly, her subconscious had known there was a life outside of being a courtesan--being desired by males incessantly--but she had never experienced this... this freedom. Freedom as it may have been, it came with it's own wave of nearly unbearable sorrow. The only outward expression portrayed to the world was an intense gaze into the sunbeam's path as the inner turmoil continued to rage on.

For days, weeks, or even months--she had no gauge of time--she had been plagued with a plethora of inexplicable feelings. How could she have really narrowed her field of vision to such a pinprick? She was by no means a stupid wolf; in fact she considered herself to be quite honest and knowledgeable, and yet she felt naked and barren like a newborn out here. The cravings for her vice continued to caress her gently as if her cheek was grazed by a sweet lover's tongue, and it only pushed her closer and closer to the edge of something she was even more terrified of--something she again could not name or begin to understand. The guilt plagued her day in and day out, and she hadn't been in contact with another animal, let alone another wolf, in what seemed like eons. Maybe she was slowly losing her mind, and the deafening silence was only aiding the process. She wasn't sure, but something finally caused her to bolt.

The sudden motion revealed just how long she had been sedentary, as her muscles creaked, groaning inaudibly as the fibers were forced to work once again. She had to move... live... encounter something different! Her paws fell nearly silent against the lush moss of the footing, and eventually the dull ache of inactivity was soothed with a rush of endorphins. Her eyes darted around her as she ran, pushing herself closer and closer to what she assumed would be the edge of a clearing where she could stop and breathe. As the trees thinned more and more, she realized how mistaken she had been, as lying there ahead of her was another wolf, apparently enjoying the sunny day. From behind, she couldn't get a good read on this other, and so she halted at the treeline, watching for a moment. He seemed to be asleep, and by the smell of him he hadn't been in recent contact with others. No boundaries had been laid here, and she proceeded cautiously forward with her head low, ears pressed forward and eyes glued to the figure. She gave him a wide berth as she crept forward, hoping to avoid him altogether but watching him in case of a sneak attack. If there was one thing Linn learned in Gomorrah it was never to turn your back on a possible opponent.

Asher had heard russling but he'd figured it was nothing more than the wind blowing threw the trees that there was nothing to worry about, so he kept his position on the ground. It wasn't until he felt someone's presence that he'd gotten worried. he didn't' want to be around anyone to him that only lead to heart break, first with his pack them with Larka. He tried to shake the feeling thinking that it was just his imagination running wild. The soft crunch of the grass under another wolfs feet is what finally caused him to roll over and become alert. He opened his honey eyes and caught sight of the other, her smell told him all she needed to know. another outsider like him, just trying to get threw life on her own. The way that she walked had Asher slightly concerned all females carried themselves with a small sense of concern, but the was this female slunk, how low she'd stayed to the ground that was Asher found wrong. He got to his feet, " Excuse me." He said to her keeping his ears back and his body as low as he could with out creeping along the ground like he might jump on her, " Could I ask you something?"

He shook out this dark fur and stretched once he'd stopped a little closer to the female, " Please don't bolt." He said feeling that the other was incredibly tense, " I only mean to ask you something. Nothing more. A friendly question, i guess one could say." He then plopped down on his hindquarters staring at the female. Her fur was dark and thick, she wasn't like any of the few other's he'd meet in his life, and she defiantly wasn't Zee. He slowly began to think of the possibilities with the she wolf, then he shook the thought out of his head, Shewolves were trouble nothing but trouble. They stomped on your heart and made you feel like you didn't deserve to breathe. " Let me introduce myself." he began standing lowering his chest to the ground, " My name is Asher. I'm just a wondering soul. I claim no territory and mean no harm." He hoped that him showing her that he meant no harm would help her relax just the slightest.

It was little surprise to Linn's eyes when he began to move, as she figured it was just her luck that he'd be awake and start up a conversation of some sort. The part of her that was hoping for a smooth getaway was highly disappointed. s**t she muttered in her mind, halting when the other's eyes fell on her, coupled with a distinctively male voice. What had she managed to get herself into now? She had been happily alone for quite some time now, and this would definitely throw a monkey wrench into her plans of a solitary lifestyle. All that aside, a small part of her was grateful to see another wolf nearby and to engage in an interaction with him. The sanity she was beginning to lose would likely survive another day because of his actions towards her. As she stood there, frozen in the partial slink she had been engaged in previously, she realized how ridiculous she must look crouched low to the ground. She was, afterall, a self-confident and bold wolf... well, somewhere deep inside at this point, but it was still there. The prospect of a question captured her attention, and his body language expressed little in the way of immediate danger. She rose slowly to straighten her legs, easing her ears into a slightly more relaxed position though her eyes were still large and locked onto him.

Afterall, he was a male, and he could offer her the one vice that constantly plagued her day in and day out. Had she been her old self, she would already be well along in her chase, but being a renewed soul, she was awkward and unsure of her actions. He had approached her--part way--and was now seemingly very relaxed. She watched as he stretched, examining him silently in the sunlight. Male: check. Long, dark fur: check. Friendly attitude: check. Nothing really set off bells and whistles in her head about him, so with a slight struggle on her part she forced her eyes to leave his body for a moment as if to catch her breath after swimming in a pool full of sharks. His beseeching her to stay made her slightly suspicious of him, although she wouldn't show it, and again he mentioned this question he had to ask. This did catch her attention, considering the two had never met, but maybe he did know her? She took a single step forward, a slight frown on her face as she waited for his next words. Usually not the silent type, her inner personality was laughing at her caution. She swallowed down the cackling and turned her head to the side slightly.

He laid himself down in front of her, still giving off the air of a completely relaxed individual. If she were feeling confident in her paws, she would mock him for being so relaxed around a potential killer wolf, but no words came yet again. He offered his name to her and she quickly went to work storing it into her memory, taking an inadvertant deeper sniff in his direction to be sure of his pheramones. Finally, after what felt like an eternity for Linn, she eased her stance just a bit more, her tail hanging low and docile behind her. "That doesn't seem like much of a question," she started, almost catching her tongue when she heard her own voice. Something about the sound made her feel more comfortable, and even if she was struggling not to slide back into her old ways, it seemed as if her voice might be a gateway into that older rhealm. She sighed inaudibly, her eyes ticking downward as she recollected herself. "and for a wanderer, you seem pretty confident in your security." Her eyes narrowed slightly as they bounced back up to him, this time staring him dead in the eye. Her confidence was beginning to flow back into her, and she straightened herself just a little taller now, a smirk across her muzzle.

"Name's Linn," she offered, taking a sly step to the side, "now what was this question you wanted to ask?" She really was curious about this, regardless of her inner turmoil between the wolf she was and the wolf she wanted to be. For now, the facade of the old Linn was a comfortable wall to build up around herself; even if it had changed. She noticed the snarky, coldness in her tone that wasn't present earlier, but he wouldn't know that. He didn't know her former self, and she was safe to experiment with a new persona now, with this Asher character as her fodder.

Much to Asher's surprise she didn't keep walking away, which to him was obviously a miracle since most females would spot him and run in the other direction. He began to grin. He let his eyes sweep over the pink and brown female again, her markings complimented her well. Her colors were pretty together. Asher shook his head what was he thinking he let out a small wolfy chuckle and let his eyes slide up to hers. The blue color of them was enchanting much better than the dull green color of his own. Instantly Asher felt like he was bad looking. He let out a small sigh, " My question?" he asked he'd forgotten what he planned on asking her. He had to rack his brain to figure it out, Slowly he remembered. yet he was still enchanted by the shewolf. He frowned, " I was going to ask you if you were passing threw or if you stayed around here someplace." He said looking around the clearing that they were in.

He let out a small huff as his eyes landed back on the female. He flicked his ears back, why on earth was he getting so jittery around a female. He hadn't been before. In fact he was strong with Larka. That had to be it, she had to be the reason he was so weird around this female. He had a small hate for the other female the one he'd let into his heart, now she was making him jumpy, jittery and all these things he never wanted to be around a female. He was a male for god sakes, he could be an alpha. The more he thought about it the more he knew he was lying to himself. He was weak and he wasn't cut out for pack life. That's why he was a packless wanderer. He narrowed his eyes as he plopped down on his haunches in front of the female his ears almost pinned to his head as he couldn't shake the thought of his former life. He had to focus on the female before him, he couldn't dwell in the past because it only made his life worse. He looked at the female following one of the pink swirls that worked over her fur. She was so different from anything that he'd ever seen around. He admired her markings waiting for her to speak. he didn't want to seem to jumpy like he was waiting he had to try and look like he wasn't really paying attention. He let his eyes follow another swirl, obviously he wasn't doing that great of a job.
