I just saw the movie today. It's pretty good, kinda sad.
Basically it's about these people trying to achieve their life's dreams, and how important a dream is to you... It's a serious movie. SUPER SRS
That said, the dog really is the best character. xDD
IMO, anyway.

I LOVED IIIIIT~~
I think that, yes, Dug is my favorite character, too. My sister and I can't stop quoting him. xD
I think that Carl's relationship with his wife was very sweet.
And I think I cried like seven times throught the movie.
At the end, too.
...I pretty much cried during the whole movie. xD
