I honestly have no problem in raising taxes since we are in a conflict, makes more sense then cutting taxes.

Considering more money comes in from income tax as is, and if food prices go up many are going to buy less this actually makes less sense. Seriously if they charge more for soda then I won't buy any, I'll just carry around and empty bottle and fill it up for free with water from water fountains.

Unless they start getting rid of water fountains.

Personally I don't see that happening considering the public outrcy that would likely ensue considering the state this country is currently going through. Take for example my high school, cut out soda in the name of health, the public did not seem to mind that meant a loss of $14,000 a year for the school. The public in this country is extremely focused on rising childhood obesity, with good reason.

Essentially what I'm trying to say is that in this country voters would have a fit if drinking fountains disappeared.

Depends where they eliminated them. If they got rid of them in public parks yes, but most other places not really. It would be seen as a minor inconvenience. Plus it would save how much in water to eliminate public water fountains?

Minor inconveniences have a way of snowballing to major complaints.

Depends on who's making the complaints.
