Just last monday, T.J Houshmandzadeh signed with the Seattle Seahawks for a 5 year, 40 million dollar contract, 15 million guaranteed. I, as a Seahawks fan and incredibly excited to have such a revered reciever with the Hawks' and I wore all my Seattle clothes to school the next day, my Seattle Sweatpants, my Lofa Tatupu jersey, my Seahawks ball cap and I brought my Seattle ball to play with my street ball friends at lunch. I guess all I have to say is.... AWWWWWW YEEEAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I guess this brings hope to the Seahawks fans.
I honestly don't know what happened last season. Nobody knows. The Seahawks had been owning the NFC West for quite some time, and they then pull off one of the biggest stinkers ever. And in Holmgren's last season there. It was just one big meltdown.
I don't know if the Seahawks will be contenders this year. It depends. Last season they weren't that healthy. But I think that the deciding factor in Houshmandzadeh's choice was that it's on the west coast.

DIRE SWORD WOUND he is ok but hes 33 why did they sign him to a 5 year deal i think it was Actually, Houshmandzadeh is 31. He has been very healthy over his career, and still plays at a high level. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play 5 more years. Also, the Seahawks save a bit more money by signing him long-term, instead of to a short contract.

He just signed a seven year deal, but nobody expects him to play that long.
