The ground is slushy, and since the ground is covered in ice, it wakes up the masses. Gensokyo is covered in snow, which has trapped those living underground, and the fairies find it harder to move. The season of sleeping peacefully has ended.
Hakurei Shrine. A shrine errected in the middle of no where. The shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei heard a strange rumor from the witch living in the forest. That is, above the clouds, someone saw a strange ship flying in the sky. There are those going around trying to find the ship.
Marisa: The rumor says that the Seven Deities of Good Luck are on that ship, and if you catch the ship, you'll never feel discomfort again. For that reason, greedy people are going around trying to find it.
Reimu: Do you believe that stupid rumor?
The witch living in the forest, Marisa Kirisame, frowns.
Marisa: There's no way I'd believe it. If there's a ship up there, they're going to find the shrine eventually.
Reimu: A treasure ship, huh.
Marisa: Last year, there was abnormal weather in the summer and a poor crop resulted. When people become uneasy, these sorts of rumors start. People either start praying, or leave it to others.
Reimu: A treasure ship. A rare thing in the word, meaning there should be gold and silver treasure piled up in it.
Marisa: That's right. A ship with the Seven Deities of Good Luck riding on it.
Reimu: A treasure ship.
Marisa: Yeah...
Reimu's and Marisa's conversation is interupted. Where there is no fire, there is no smoke. While it is unknown if it's a treasure ship or not, whatever is floating in the sky, humans that saw it seemingly started the rumor. Another partner is needed. The silence on the mountain is disturbed by a couple of visitors.
Sanae: Ah, how strange, that you would be here.
Recently, from the new mountain appeared the human Sanae Kochiya.
Reimu: You look like something's the matter. Did anything happen?
Sanae: It's nothing important but...Did you (Reimu) catch sight of the ship in the sky? I think it's already started to move.
Reimu and Marisa exchange glances.
Reimu: The ship flying in the sky?!
Sanae: I have things to take care of with that ship. Even if it's a little bit, I'm trying to collect information on it.
Reimu: Huh? Wait.
Marisa: The story about the flying ship, that was true?
Sanae: Huh? You didn't know? Look, it stands out so much already.
Sanae pointed up to the sky.
Reimu and Marisa look up. There, there's a large black shadow on the cloud they've never seen the likes of before, causing a violet color on the clouds.

The cold spring wind causes the smell to be blown from the ship. However, there is a fragment of the treasure left over, and therefore the lady's power is not completely lost.
