I just saw this and I was in shock and awe. he's only 31 and he could easily start for a different team. Jeff Garcia is out of Tampa Bay as well.

McAlister has been injured the past two seasons. Garcia came in with Gruden. Now he's out, so is his quarterback.
As for Taylor, he's been the whole team pretty much for his whole tenure. I thought he would also be a Jag. Guess not.

I'm thinking Kansas City, Seattle, or the Buffalo Bills might sign him. Bills dont have any star corners, Seattle needs a new one since Kelly Jennings sucked it bad this season and Kansas City just needs a defense.

There have been a lot of releases and franchise tags applied, as of late.
If there's one weakness in the Ravens' defense, it's at the cornerback position. So it doesn't surprise me too much that McAlister got released. He'll probably be able to sign with another team.
The Fred Taylor release surprised me, because he is still a good RB, but it seems like the Jaguars want to go younger and commit to MJD.
It doesn't surprise me that the Saints released Deuce, because he isn't as effective, isn't in the top two RBs on the team, and he would have cost them a lot to keep.

McAlister being released was suprising and also it was in for the coming, the Ravens run alot of man-to-man and McAlister has said he loves to free-lance. Similar to why ME-angelo Hall didn't work out in Oakland.

McAlister has the mindset of a safety, and he could never vulture in Ed Reed's territory.

He wanted out of Atlanta so bad, and he regretted it big time.

The Raiders did pay him big time, but he was long gone on such a crappy team.

And from what I heard, he did pretty well. I think that Hall is currently working out a deal with the team.
