She nodded at him a few times. "Of course it would. And it'll be a special surprise for those that come to view it! I rarely ever get to bring my paintings subjects in." She smiled at him. "You'll be a celebrity there." She worked on cleaning up her paints, and cleaning the brushes. She was boilding over with excitement that he wanted to go.

"Its in two days over at studio 51 in the city.." She wondered if he knew where it was... Maybe he would want to go with her! She blushed a little at the idea. She had never gone on a date before, but the idea had quickly slipped from her mind. "I'll make sure to get your name on the list, when I drop off the painting."

She nudges the paints into her bag, and she finished cleaning up her stuff... Though now she was going to have some trouble taking the painting with her, since she had brought so much stuff!

Midnight listened with interest as Etnie spoke, his eyes never leaving the painting, and a pleased smile came about his features at the word "celebrity." Yes... he would go, there was no doubt about that. He turned and was about to ask her where it would be when she spoke again and he nodded his head in acknowledgement. "Right." he said. Now all he needed to do was find out where in the city exactly the studio was and he was sure he'd be all set.

Confusion entered his eyes at the mention of a list and he thought about it as Etnie packed her things, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "A list?" he finally asked, failing to realize Etnie had numerous belongings around her and that she alone couldn't carry them all without problems. He had spent most of his life around areas unpopular enough for lists to be more of a hinderence and so he'd never taken the time to find out exactly what they were for. It wasn't hard to guess, though. "Well, all right then."

He stepped away from the painting reluctantly, unsure if it was safe to just leave it for a few days. Anything could happen, after all. He scanned the items Etnie had brought with her, wondering how she would take the painting, when it suddenly occured to him just how many items she had brought. "Need some help?" he said, quickly walking back to the painting's side so that if she said yes, he could grab it before she did.

She almost lost herself, muttering to herself her next move, and its plans. "Oh, that would be wonderful." She was glad that he he would take the canvas since she was accustomed to walking on all four. After packing her things up, and taking the aisle when he lifted the painting... "I can bring you to the studio now then... Show you and such, and we can drop off the painting for it to get hung."

She hoped that would be okay with him, and wasn't keeping him from anything. This way she knew he'd get there okay! She pulled the bag's strap over her head, and she saddled the bag onto her, she headed off in the direction she came, toward the city.

"Oh and yes, basically only select people are allowed at this events. We the artists, and out subjects if they are living, and then buyers and collects. Well this happens to be a closed event... If a buyer or collector likes the artwork, they bid or auto buy it, and the studio takes 10% and the artist gets 90%. This is how I make my a portion of my living. The rest of the time I do interior decorating. Its more stable then art. "

As soon as the "oh" left Etnie's lips, his fingers were wrapped around the painting and he held it close to him, glad that the technology they had helped the paint dry quickly. He made sure it was in his arms at all times and didn't give much care to the other items. Out of courtesy though, he took a bag and slung it over his other arm, taking his time so that by the time it was secure, Etnie had packed and carried her other things.

"Sure." he said, stepping closer to show her he was ready. He hoisted the painting higher so that it wouldn't scratch against the ground and followed her, into the city. He nodded occasionally as she spoke, his eyes greedily drinking in the sights around them as they got closer to their destination. He never really spent much time in Omnigenus, preferring other, less crowded, locations so everything was new and interesting to him.

"Why wouldn't the artist get one-hundred percent of the profit?" Midnight asked, swerving so that a fellow pedestrian wouldn't bump into him or, more importantly, the painting. "Wouldn't the studio be non-existant without artists?" His ears twitched and he turned to watch her curiously, making sure none were close enough to risk crashing into him.

As they walked she pawed her way around th familiar territory. She was happy that he had taken some of the stuff, it allowed her to move a bit more freely with her one other bag.

"Ahh, well you see..." She started. She needed to figure out how to phrase it right. "The galleries will attract the collectors, and depending hte gallery, you tend to be presenting to a certain type. I can still sell things on my own, but its not often that the wealthier collectors or even museums will find my stuff."

She took a corner, and it was pretty easy to see that they had stepped into a more wealthier area.

"When you're able to hang your paintings in a gallery, it gives you status, saying you're good enough. Now... the reason we don't get 100% is, that we have to pay to have our stuff hung... with the hope that it sells. It if sells you make back what you paid... Somethings 6 times over. If you don't sell then you loose money. But the gallery has to pay over head, for things like the building and lights so its how they make money."

It didn't take to much longer to find Gallery 51 in the middle of the block. She lead him inside.

Midnight shifted his arm so that the bag slid to a firmer position on his shoulder while he walked, the weight of it sending him dangerously close to falling onto the ground. He gripped the painting with both arms as best as he could, as if that would help it if he fell, and swiveled his ears around, suddenly noticing how fragile the painting was.

"Certain types?" Midnight pondered quietly. He had never been one for art and they all looked the same to him. It was like taking a picture, except not. Different tools were used and there would always be differences between a picture and a painting, but still. Types? How would paintings be categorized? By flavors? He looked at the painting he was holding, wondering if they all tasted different. Before he could ask about it, though, they took a corner, and his question remained forgotteon.

Well, he thought. This is certainly different. He had never been to this section of Omnigenus before and he took an interest in his surroundings. If this was how famous artists lived, then it was obvious they had good tastes.

He raised a brow when Etnie spoke again. If all someone had to do was slap a painting on wall to get rich, he wondered why the place wasn't crowded with those desperate for money. Maybe there was some sort of security he missed. He took a quick small peek behind his back, stepping closer to Etnie to make it seem as if he was making sure her bag was secure in case someone really was watching. His attention returned to her near the end of her sentence and nodded, understanding flashing in his eyes.

When he saw their destination, he clutched the painting tighter, knowing it would be taken from him soon, and followed inside reluctantly.

The two were greeted by the gallery owner. Etnie smiled and she took a step to the side. "This is ... Midnight. He happens to be the subject in my painting. He seemed interested in the gallery, so I thought I would bring him along." The owners attention turned to him and he greeted Midnight with enthusiasm, telling him it was always a treat to have the subjects come in. And how he hoped he'd be there for the showing.

Etnie's attention was taken by someone who asked her to fill out some paper work for the painting. She worked on filling it out and when she finished she looked over at Midnight. "I need to give that to the gallery hand, so that it can be hung for the show." She tilted her head a little, the toadstool colored hair shifted ever so slightly.

The gallery hand stepped back and held out her hands. Etnie wondered if Midnight would not want to part with th picture. But she had decided if it didn't sell that she would give it to him. But she did hope it would sell... She could use the money. She finally placed the bag she was carrying on the ground, and the owner turned to her and spoke about the location of where her painting would be getting hung.

Midnight gave a stiff nod towards the Daruma he assumed was a member of the staff of this particular gallery. Why else would he be so enthusiastic about him coming otherwise? He didn't want to bring any attention to himself, but he couldn't help but to flatten his ears some. Authoritive figures always made him nervous, even more so when he was left alone with them, as he was after Etnie left for some papers. He quickly followed after her, leaving the other Daruma behind.

"All right." he replied with mock enthusiasm, looking around for the giant fingers he assumed was a "gallery hand." When nothing happened, he looked at the new Daruma who was holding her hands out expectantly.

"Oh." he said, realization and embarassment clear on his face. He held onto the painting for a bit longer before finally handing it over. He watched it as it was taken away before he turned back to Etnie. Shrugging the bag off his shoulders, he held it out to her. "Thanks." he said. "For showing me where this place is."
